Hey Richie! I've been following you and your mates for years...I couldn't believe the awesome work band geeks made with the legend Jon Anderson. Everyone so talented...that bass on hearth of the sunrise omg! The new album with those great compositions! Made me feel happy and proud as you were a friend of mine doing something insanely amazing. Best regards from Brazil!
also if you want to cheat a chorus you can if you have the option for dual cabinets. just set the delay on one of the cabinets back a few ms and you'll get a slight chorusing effect.
Hey Richie, thanks for showing us how this preset is built! I heard your bass on the songs you just released with Jon and was blown away with your sounds. Question, on this preset are you losing your input separation when you use mono pitch shift and reverb on the joined parts of the signal path?
If you go to the split point there's a setting for dynamics too. You might be able to use that also to trigger the dirty pickup when you play hard and have it clean up when you play soft.
Just imagine that Chris had to do all this the old fashioned way. The video is less than 30 minutes. But there will be further puttsing down the road. Well, I guess that never stops anyways...
Those are great! Yeah, you totally can, but this unit is an entire multi fx processor and does a lot more. There's also a Sans Amp model inside the Helix, but I haven't messed with it too much.
WOW! This is so cool. Imagine if Chris Squire were sitting next to you today!!?? He'd throw his old pedal board in the dumpster. Have you tried playing a 4001 V63 or CS? I bought a CS model in 1999 but the sound honestly wasn't as growly as my '74 4001. Do you have issues keeping your Rics in tune during shows??
I had the privilege of seeing him live a bunch of times and his tone was MIGHTY. This is my attempt to get in the ballpark without having to spend a fortune or need a truck to lug a bunch of priceless gear around. His rig rundown on the Premiere Guitar channel was incredible. If you haven't seen it, check it out! And yeah, on the Band Geek And You And I video I used my Uncle's 4001CS. I thought it was really nice, but I agree with you. My '74 blows it out of the water and it's not even close.
Yes, that's usually the case. But this isn't being used for stereo. It's being used for Neck Pickup vs Bridge Pickup, so I'm not sure what the standard convention is. This is also a very old cable that I used for the video so who knows what the colors are referring to.
Hmm... I haven't tried loading it on my Stomp. It's on the road with BOC's gear so I can't try it out. Luckily, it's easy enough to recreate this from scratch if you follow the video.
@@RichieCastellano thanks I switched it over to main and got some sound now but it’s nothing like a Rick can you do a patch for the Rick the ones that you and Chris used from the yes albums I think all your followers would want and love that for the hi stomp thankyou
Thanks for the shout bro!!! Glad you're giving it a shot
Nice work, Steve!
I'm still trying to learn my HX Stomp so I've watched your videos too! Good work man

22:05 Sound Chaser Yum! Thanks Ritchie, sounds awesome!
We're in the presence of greatness.
"It's making my seat rumble" LOL!

Thank you for the tip, kind sir.
Just got the True Cd today! Sounds Great!
Loving it :)

You’re right! I totally screwed that up in this video. Good catch! I don’t use the octave too much, so I never would have noticed it. Thank you!
Sérgio Mendes just passed away 😢 One of my favorite videos of yours is when you tally all the key changes in his song “Never Gonna Let You Go”

I will experiment with this, kind sir.

I love my helix, it's a great unit. But I have to ask... Why not use a tech 21 sans amp? Ged used one for the hall of fame and it sounded great.

total pro!

Interesting setup Does it work for Helix Rack?
I have another free preset up on custom tone for the Helix Rack.
Oh Thank You, where can I get it?
Good video Richie, your bass is thunderous, thanks - but isn't "red" always "right"?

@@RichieCastellano Thanks Richie, you are teaching us every day!
Is it only by stomp XL?
It should work on the HX stomp and the Helix too.
Totes Jelly. This came out right after I got the PodGo and I would have rather gotten this.
I know someone who will happily loan you one whenever you want, kind sir.
@@RichieCastellano I bet I do! Does Phil have one ? T_T
Did I understand that you have more shows to do with Jon Anderson?
We have 7 shows left on our 2024 tour.
It won’t play on my hxstomp it’s loaded ok but it’s dead what’s up
