i absolutely love the setting, the clothes that they are wearing, and the song itself. it really gives to the vibe of this song. it makes me relaxed, but not sleepy, and I love that.
Man this chinese instruments are just heaven, the sounds they make gives me instant relax and even tingles. Every time i listen to music made with guqin, guzheng etc. it feels like memories of an ancient time. I'm not even chinese but i can't help but feel like this melodies awaken something i had long forgotten.
Nothing beats Guzheng for me tho. It feels like the sound was connected to my heart. As for relaxation I prefer Dizi (flute). Its pretty relaxing especially when you were staring at moon at silent night ❤️

haha, guqin is much harder than guzheng. when a beginner plays, believe it or not, actually sounds horrible if not played right. guzheng on the other hand, no matter how you play, still sounds good :) that’s why guqin is much harder to learn

There's something different about this piece. Not only is it related to Mo Dao Zu Shi, making me sync up the storyline with the music, it makes me feel as if my soul is being lifted and the stress inside of my heart is carefully being removed. I'm not trying to sound poetic. This is exactly how I really feel. The calming pain in the music, the instrument, even the videos aesthetic. I am truly charmed and unlike the different music I listen to, I don't think I know when I'll ever stop listening to this.
I wanted to see some videos of people playing guqin but I didn't like any of them so I thought that it's probably hard to make anything sound good on it... But then I clicked on this and it's just pure perfection? How does it sound so good. The melody is so beautiful and the rhythm is great, and the song sounds so... different in every section. I'm so impressed and in love with this cover...
It's hard loving a sound that isn't inherently part of your culture or atleast familiar.... That's why Chinese songs on Chinese instruments won't strike your fancy unless they're very distinct or used in a series/movie

Selina Huang usually for guitars. Like sheet music but for lazy people. The lines represent the strings and instead of notes there’s numbers on the lines that tell to witch fret or half step from the open string to place your finger. I could still read sheet music, it just takes longer.

The method of reading guqin music relies on various characters that indicate note, hui, sliding, length, technique, hand, etc., tabs or numeric notation can be found for the guzheng. I think in regards to which is more difficult the guzheng is more difficult in regards to tuning and memorizing the strings and hitting the correct ones. Guqin is more difficult as there are less readily available pitches and the instru,ent is also highly microtonal. The guzheng is microtonal but the manipulation is done a bit different. But I am only leading the guqin not guzheng so idk the guzheng could be more difficult especially since the amount of strings can range from 16-48 strings but I think the most common is 24.
I can still vividly remember the feeling of watching MDZS at 3 AM. When I finished watching it I was bawling my eyes out and I can't even understand why I was so hooked with a drama. It's been 3 years but I haven't moved on. I remember that this video used to put me to sleep. I would put this on loop, that my sister would nag me because of my "weird" music. However, this nameless song gave me comfort during my times of darkness. So I would like to thank you for uploading this because it really helped me.
She would be a Godess in Medieval era. Most ancient Guquin pieces I have heard are calming and rather slow paced. This performance is a feast of balanced accompaniment, harmonics, subtleties, liberated tempo all done with a very distinct and mesmerizing flare.

Every so often it hits me just how incredibly diverse the cultures of the planet are. The music and language of china are so completely unlike anything from my bicultural rearing, it's astonishing how different they are. I still have trouble wrapping my head around a language entirely reliant on inflection and tone for meaning. The instruments and musical motifs that feature heavily in the music are so different from anything I'm used to. But even with all this, there's something to be said for the universal nature of beautiful storytelling, and beautiful music. Humans really are amazing sometimes. Great video!

They usually use guzheng to play this song. But I like guqin more, how impressive it is😍. I don't know but I think that guqin is harder to play than guzheng

Any idea what tuning it’s in? I just got a guqin and I’m trying to learn this, also tabs would be cool if you know where to find them
Selina Huang usually for guitars. Like sheet music but for lazy people. The lines represent the strings and instead of notes there’s numbers on the lines that tell to witch fret or half step from the open string to place your finger. I could still read sheet music, it just takes longer.

@@tristenreppe3504 unfortunately tabs for the guqin do not exist. The method of reading guqin music relies on various characters that indicate note, hui, sliding, length, technique, hand, etc., tabs or numeric notation can be found for the guzheng. I think in regards to which is more difficult the guzheng is more difficult in regards to tuning and memorizing the strings and hitting the correct ones. Guqin is more difficult as there are less readily available pitches and the instru,ent is also highly microtonal. The guzheng is microtonal but the manipulation is done a bit different. But I am only leading the guqin not guzheng so idk the guzheng could be more difficult especially since the amount of strings can range from 16-48 strings but I think the most common is 24.

I can still vividly remember the feeling of watching MDZS at 3 AM. When I finished watching it I was bawling my eyes out and I can't even understand why I was so hooked with a drama. It's been 3 years but I haven't moved on. I remember that this video used to put me to sleep. I would put this on loop, that my sister would nag me because of my "weird" music. However, this nameless song gave me comfort during my times of darkness. So I would like to thank you for uploading this because it really helped me.
She would be a Godess in Medieval era. Most ancient Guquin pieces I have heard are calming and rather slow paced. This performance is a feast of balanced accompaniment, harmonics, subtleties, liberated tempo all done with a very distinct and mesmerizing flare.

Every so often it hits me just how incredibly diverse the cultures of the planet are. The music and language of china are so completely unlike anything from my bicultural rearing, it's astonishing how different they are. I still have trouble wrapping my head around a language entirely reliant on inflection and tone for meaning. The instruments and musical motifs that feature heavily in the music are so different from anything I'm used to. But even with all this, there's something to be said for the universal nature of beautiful storytelling, and beautiful music. Humans really are amazing sometimes. Great video!
