Last Universal Common Ancestor. In scientific terms, LUCA was the organism from which all present-day life derived from. Not as legendary as this... presence, sadly, LUCA is currently hypothesized to have been an ancient, single cell. This atom-like presence makes me wonder if it could allude to the carbon atom, since most known life relies on it for structure, but with five electrons, it'd be Boron which... huh. (Also, thank you for the guides! Spent way too long scratching my head over those monuments that lead to here. Not enough folks out there giving this gem of a game a look, so you going out of your way to help out folks who are stuck in this abstract world is highly appreciated!)
That’s interesting, would like to know what you think of “God”, it really doesn’t have a name. I really enjoyed the game, there is always good gems among indies, though it was pretty challenging to complete everything!
@@BlackTorito Thank you! The "Higher Power", as I've come to call it, is... really interesting. As the Neutrals put it in their monuments, this... entity is clearly seeking out something that its own mind cannot comprehend. A sort of... theological paradox: an omniscient being not knowing something! I'd assume it's seeking out what's going on with our protagonists - working together as one without fusing into the Green beings (all of which outside of Summun are... unstable, flickering between Light and Dark, clearly imperfect). Creations becoming greater than the sum of their parts - which is tested in the end when you confront them/it. ... It's a really good job depicting the incomprehensiblity of a Higher Being. Everything else has a visual clarity to it, a design. But this... is formless, brilliant, and blinding. Where everything is a solid color, here we have a gradient of rainbows, forming into a mathematically perfect pattern. But the gauges even being sort of indecipherable, the capture gauge evoking the shape of an infinity sign... And the way it slowly robs you of your powers by shattering the world, erasing your history with it. It's perfect, it's powerful, it's beyond the visual language of your world, and everything about it, down to even it's unique UI elements, is... unknowable. And of course, how it communicates in an unknown language. It clearly repeats itself, perhaps insisting on something, but I haven't dug deep enough to know if there's a translation. (Though I want to confront it again once I've finished everything else - maybe LUCA is a key of sorts? I also have yet to take down Summun, so I'm still assuming other endings may exist...) ... The Spears, too, make me wonder - if the first one shattered into LUCA, perhaps the field we see are all the other attempts: iterations upon iterations of reigniting this world, seeking out something. Perhaps everything else just decays into nothingness - Light and Dark mutually annihilating each other, like Matter and Antimatter. But now, finally, something different has happened. ... Of course, this is all one interpretation. I imagine the story is kept intentionally obscure to get our imaginations flowing! Similar to how most of the foes we encounter work - there's only an outline of parts, seldom flickering to reveal a solid whole. Even so, one of my favorite games to surprise me this year! ... Apologies for the rambling - I struggle with brevity, sometimes!
Following what librus8680 said, the soundtrack that plays for battling LUCA is called "The First Iteration" so Luca is probably the first form of life that was created by the God/Creator of this Existence and the progenitor of the Blue, Orange, and Green creatures that came after. It could also be why it makes star patterns around itself that resemble Circles and Squares. It's also worth noting the stone monuments can only be activated when we have both Edda and Aven to "chant" to it.
Actually, if you pay attention on the drawings and words of the tablets, it seems LUCA was there before "God" and it created those skeletal beings we see all around At some point, "God" or "Gods" appeared and imprisoned LUCA and started doing their own thing
@@SPYROSTSABOURISyea, when we encounter LUCA, it’s stabbed through with a spear of Creation/Destruction, in a realm very similar to where we encounter God, or whatever higher being that final boss is

A comment in the video gave the answer: The fragments spin in a fixed rotation, forming patterns, and such patterns matches both characters. What you have to do is hitting the shield with the corresponding character according to the patterns to break it (otherwise you're 1 sec stunned as you can see sometimes in the video)
One thing i have noticed is the orbs orbiting LUCA. I think how they orbit shows which character can break it.
Thanks for sharing!

Im not gonna lie I feel kind of bad for killing it because of how pathetically easy the fight was. Still, thank you for the guide!
I just beat the ultimate trial. It took me 7 or 6 hours.
Congrats! Its a great feat
Well this is an interesting boss battle
Also do you know if there is some reward for refighting enemies?? Like achievements or something better hopefully lol ??
There is the ultimate trial for refighting all of them AT ONCE. So… yeah, currently I’ll test if you can absorb God but I think you can’t

@@sion7651 no, they destroy the world, I think you should think it is like the universe, kinda like the Big Bang.
It's intresting how this boss was named after the first cell.
Does anyone know what the, im just gonna call it an axe, attach that Blue (i dont know their names) uses ar 2:18
Yep, it’s an axe. You don’t have it at the start of the game. It’s an upgrade you find around the map
