You should incorporate some form of a spring ejector behind the ipad, even if it's just a outward flexible plastic tab. So once you slide the ipad over to unhook it, it kicks one end of the ipad out a little bit so it's easier to grab it out of its tray.
i wonder if he ever made this mode yet on any dash insert............???????? i'm still waiting here on his reply..... if he does more of this same thing for the open public for their 3rd gen dodge truck's or what not there............ & if he does what's he charge & how long in time to build & make it & ship it all out to me..........& guessing it would stay in the main post office till i picked it up........( since i live in an apt,. building here w/ tiny lil standard mail boxes here )................
I’m gonna do the same thing! But I’m going to use an iPad just a bit smaller, remove the vents so it all flows smooth. With the heat on that iPod will go into over heat mode constantly because the air is aimed right at the back of the iPad. Looks sick tho!

Bra, the over lapping of the slider kit over the factory blower vents are going to cause un-wanted turbulence. It's going to blow the slider kit right off the dash panel into the drivers face, causing him to lose control slamming into the oscar mayer wienermobile backwards!
