Splitboarding in Northern Norway with the HEAD CRWU
Splitboarding in Norway’s Lofoten Islands feels like traveling through an Arctic version of the Lord of the Rings. In abrupt beauty, the Atlantic Ocean meets the rugged granite shores, and wild and craggy mountains rise directly from the sea.
We were not always lucky with the weather and snow conditions during our stay in April, however, there were plenty of mountains to choose between and so much terrain to explore, so we set our skins on our VOY splitboards and found our paradise.
Peaks surrounded us, but it was the water that left us speechless: Sparkling fjords stretched below, pointing its crooked finger toward the ocean. We noticed the smell of the sea while riding, as it rises up the mountain.
On rainy days when the clouds hung low, the rain prompted us to look for something other than snowboarding. So we checked out the swell at Unstad, Lofoten’s most notable surf spot, to try Arctic surfing instead.
This magical place is highly recommendable if you are looking for the ultimate splitboarding adventure!
