How I Lost My FTMO Account: Don't Make THIS Simple Mistake...

FTMO has a series of rules that you have to follow. If you violate their rules, they sometimes give you a warning, but often you end up losing your account. Many do not share their losses in the Trading Community, but hopefully, this video will help people not lose their FTMO Accounts when trading on news events. Make sure you read all the RULES before you start trading your funding account. There are not a lot of restricted news events, but when there are you better avoid them like the plague, if you want to protect your account, lol!

Thanks for this video Justin. What i think FTMO and other prop firms are saying is they are not willing to risk their money during these highly volatile news times. Slow and steady wins the race. I tend to agree. Nothing stops a funded trader from bankrolling their own accounts from profits earned in prop trading and proceed to trade(gamble) on news events.

What I have learned from trading funded accounts with more capital versus small personal accounts (SPA) is that many people who trade SPAs don't really see the effects of slippage because there lot sizes are smaller in nature, but when you have a funded account and you are using larger lots during news the slippage is HORRIBLE! Personally I avoid trading news 15-30 minutes before and after now

the thing I do is just don't trade that day, if there's a restriction, and its a EUR or a USD news restriction cause I trade eur/usd I just won't trade that day at all, better safe than sorry

Swing account is much better. 1:30 is on the full 100k, so it's like 1:300.

Ftmo probably works on PAMM accounts so in fact they're copying trades from one account to another and taking into consideration latency and wide choppy spreads I do understand they don't want to trade news... With this volatility it might be a big mess after all
