You've gone ahead and done it again. Another interesting video, and this one with a touch of humour, actually. Your cat didn't seem to mind a broom in its face - it must love you so. Thank you for preparing (sweeping clean) the way to an important holiday. Well done!
aw bless their little feet, they are often getting a broom in the face.. messy eaters! No, I'm joking, they have to put up with so much from their human, you wonder how they stay sane?
Thank you for the very informative video! I learned quite a lot! I love the way your broom looks on your hearth. My broom is bristle side up by my front door. There s so much interesting information about the besom that I didn’t know . Thank you for your fun video
I've done the spell where you dip the broom in water and shake it in the sky. It works for me. I learned that spell from an old book of witchcraft that my mother had. It was my first book.
Oh great!! I love the nature of weather magick. Glad to hear it worked. It worked for me too, but I did have some inclination from the weather forecast that it was time some came. It's actually a really useful spell to know with these globally warmed summers
Hi, I hope you are well. This was a really interesting video. I really enjoyed all the information on brooms. I never knew half of this so i found it really fascinating. Can i also say that you are looking very lovely with the beach wave new hairstyle. It really suits you. Very much looking forward to the next few months on your channel as you enter the Autumn and winter season of this dark side of the year. Thank you again for a really interesting video. x
Autumn is lovely, I have been out foraging, but aren't you tired of my foraging stories yet! well watch this space.. or maybe another vlog channel, where I make jam! x
Good tip. I think it sounds softer than birch twigs. I would like to make one from broom twigs..I think different brooms would have different properties
Here in Denmark we had " Danni Druehyld" who was a whitch living in the woods she made a book where the recipe for flying Ointment is in and got a copy of the book you could only buy it for her lecture that I attended in 2018. She died a few years ago
My Nan told me that her ancestors, who were Romany gypsy (her Dad was a gypsy) would jump over a broom to marry. They did not necessarily marry formally through the church. When doing family history, I’ve found they had loads of children, but only sometimes married later in life. Perhaps, if they had used their own marriages rituals, they felt they were already married and children legitimate. They were also Besom-Makers for generations - this is recorded as their trade. So thank you for this video, it was very relevant to me and my own ancestral history xx
That's a great history. It would be great to have broom jumping in your heritage! I hope you are carrying on the besom tradition in some way then. Maybe making your own?? It's maybe an inherited skill !
Happy end of summer!.. yes, here comes the biggest witchy festival, shops are warming up already, and the witches will be flying by October 😃Plenty of time to practice those stunts.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. I like this one by my hearth, as the one I made is quite large! It is the season of the broom soon, so a great time to look for one! (without drawing too much attention!)
RUclips hasn't been sending me notifications from your channel. I love that you jumped around to look like you were flying. Poor guy. "Carving a p**** into the broom" My kind of carving 😂🤣😂🤣 lmao jk. I love the idea of sweeping in wealth.
ah, that'll be the supportive youtube algorithm, telling me to quit again! or they may have to cough up a dollar..! Thanks for telling me. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love your channel love the intro this episode but I can’t help but admire your dress it’s beautiful. By the way the intro reminds me when I was little watching Angela Lansbury in the Disney movie bed knobs and broomsticks when she was self teaching herself to fly on her broom.
how strange, just yesterday my man came home with a decorative hand made broom, with a green man carving on it, he said he thought i would like it. (i love it), but never really thought much about brooms...and so now thinking about it, i have 4 different utility brooms in the garage, one on the back porch, one behind bedroom door... 👀
Really lovely video, thank you so much. I didn't know of some of those fascinating superstitions. My broom stands bristles up behind my favourite armchair by the hearth. Its covered in birds feathers I have found over the years, mostly black crow/raven feathers. I talk to it just as a talk to the humans in the house as it is my friend and guardian. I think my family are now used to my "besom chats" 🤣
haha, oh cool. I like the idea of covering it with feathers, and of course, I won't think you crazy for chatting to your besom. Not at all! !!That's a wonderful story, and I might add some bird feathers to one of mine. I have three that hang out in different rooms and serve different purposes. One I made, and two I just liked and bought.
What a brilliant video! And comical beginning 😂 I’ve got ash, birch, and willow on my property and will be making a besom, with their permission, did not know that bit about the carvings… fascinating 🤔 Brooms here in New England / northeastern USA do look a lot like yours Edited to add: I see you haven’t posted in a few months, I hope you’ll return soon as I’ve just discovered you and you’re a delight!
thanks. It's a traditional Croatian Tattoo. They have meanings such as protection, people dancing together, unity etc, and quite a sad story about being stolen as slaves, and having tattoos to be recognisable. They were traditional tattoed over the hands, and I think they are gorgeous, but I think I'll wear mine where it's not always seen
you're welcome. I think to make or decorate your own besom with herbs or ribbons, or anything that feels person will wake the power of the broom up, more than simply buying one off the shelf. But any broom, by use of symbolism. ie, your intent when you use it, will wake and activate the besom x
I am afraid of flying. Every time the sky tries to pull me into the air I get scared, and I break the connection. Maybe I just need a broom. After all, I am not only the RainMaker, I am the Ucky Lucky Witch.
Lol.. yes flying is easier when you are young.. it's like being afraid to fall...I would dream of bouncing around the ceiling but not quite breaking through. I miss those dreams of soaring through the air.
@@TheWitchInTheWoods 90% of dreams are based on your brain's memories. Maybe you just need to feel like flying again; perhaps, as Rose does in the movie Titanic.
We had many very old English and Scandinavian Dutch vvitches old woman talking about folkcraft stories my mother and her friend told us about little girl witches that had been enchanted by an older wise ones the stories in Scandinavian countries vaslisa and bella prenginla that could fly on brooms by calling out your past on ancestors and they would come in spirit was more for fun its wasn't anything evil at all but these young ladies maidens and little girls would dance in circles with brooms for may day or beltane celebration but it wasn't anything bad or evil but more a lesson on how they used to meet a possible future husband at a may day beltane celebration but it's was used for just for traditional purposes just for fun
Wow that's really interesting. It probably was something much less harmful than the Church would have you believe. I get the Beltane connection too. Thanks for sharing your stories

Thanks very much. Going to use mine by my door for winter. It's very hard not to sweep after dark though. Thanks for watching x
Thank you so much. I am looking for a functional besom. Your description matches what I have learned.

I've got some birch branches I intend to make a broom, finding suitable branch for handle.
Lovely. Good luck with your broom x
Thank you.
Do you put a cinnamon broom stick by the front door
Upwards or downwards ????
it depends what you want to do. Upright is welcoming, downwards is a boundary of sorts
your looking great your glowing
