I love this guy! One of the most talentet musicians in the world!!!
Back in the early 1970s in the UK, the BBC used to broadcast late on Sunday evenings a music program on its predominantly classical music station (Radio 3) called Sounds Interesting. The show was hosted by the late and very well respected jazz & popular music critic of the Sunday Times a gentleman by the name of Derek Jewell, who after playing three excerpts from the then about to be released Hamburger Concerto Album (from memory La Cathedrale de Strasbourg, Birth, & a section of the title piece itself) commented that if there was a more accomplished musician anywhere in the world than Thijs van Leer he had yet to hear him! This was back in 1974, I think I still have the reel to audio tape recording somewhere.

Great idea! Thanks, I enjoyed that. And it made me think about the possibility of an EU Rhapsody as well. How about composing something that incorporates something of all the 27 countries of the EU? Maybe it could become a kind of anthem played at EU ceremonies like when the presidency of the European Council changes every 6 months.
Then you could still have the European Rhapsody including musical influences of Georgia, Russia etc. In fact, maybe if you played this before the current talks about the Ukraine crisis it could help influence the bellicose inclinations of the respective parties for the better. What do you think?
