I crochet over the loose yarn that is being carried up the side. With granny squares I typically work a few rounds of hdc (turning at the end of each round so that it doesn’t curl), or will work a round of Hdc in colour A, sc in colour B, hdc in colour A.

What do you do with all the loose yarn being carried up the sides when the blanket is completed? Any suggestions on a border for this?
