I could! Trying to bring a variety of reactions so maybe recommend a band that is similar. I have been listening to these guys more and really enjoying it
If u do almost everything by urself, composing, backing tracks, recording of instruments, mixing, mastering...it needs its time..and if its that awesome as Jari did it with his Wintersun..even more
16:15 actually, the poor drummer composed those drums himself. Jari told in an interview, that after he had finished the song, he send it to Kai so that he would plan the drums, because he thought, he wasn`t good enough drummer to do it himself. So, Kai did it to himself. Fantastic job. From the whole band.
I appreciate when people are telling their honest opinion, does not matter whether it sounds negative or positive. Little by little you learn to recognise those who are flattering their audience telling things their want to hear. When it comes to bands, singers... there is always a hysteric herd of fans who will never forgive you if you point out something they do not want to hear. Wintersun! I like their intensiveness. And this piece... so many layers that you need to listen it again and again.
Nice reaction video. I tend to quite like long songs (even outside of metal) because they tend to have that variety within them which I really enjoy, they almost feel like a journey rather than just a regular song. I can understand why you prefer shorter songs though.
Ya I've been thinking about it alot and I think when it comes to really long songs... If you're already a fan of the band it's great, more of what you love. However it's very difficult to get someone into a band by saying "check out this song, it's 15 minutes long" lol
Nice reaction. Wintersun puts so much in their music that it makes sense that they don't release that much. Check out the new Orbit Culture video 'Flight of the Fireflies' (released today). One of the rising bands with a good production. The song is about drinking to much during these times (see the Revolver Magazine article)
Good (that you continue). - When I am looking for something new, I check, for example, the bands Nuclear Blast, the record label, has in their "stall". - Wintersun was one of them, as well Battle Beast.
@@JaredPoirier LOL, yes. I would like to hear that woman using her voice in more aggressive compositions since I do believe she has something to offer. What comes to NW, Master Passion Greed sung by Marko Hietala with angry elements. (I really hope Hietala would continue with Tarot, his own band.) Stravovarius was familiar to you, I assume. - Well, I will go through your play list and perhaps I will find some good stuff there.
I do appreciate your honest opinion i have been fan of Nightwish since i was 8 so 21 years but there r people how only want positive comments of NW but in my mind it would not be honest allways and i value honest opinions above all. I hope u continue your jorney finding Nightwish and other amazing metal bands
Love this comment! Appreciate your support, I'll continue to bring my.honest opinion. Its great that you guys are teaching me about metal and helping me discover new bands here in the comments!
I hope those toxic comments don’t turn you away from exploring Nightwish more. They’re very versatile and I’m guessing they might surprise you in many ways.
not offending you ..but why do you even react to other music than brain dead metal...whats the point..i dont get it..you clearly dont like any other kind of music
What? I listen to tonnes of other forms of music but the channel is based around metal as everyone needs to focus on something. There is tonnes of variety in metal, but if you have something else to react to please recommend!
@@JaredPoirier well that is my point...you dont like anything else...why even try..and thats fine by me...and if you know..there are other styles than metal..kinda feel sorry for you..you just miss so much..music can be beautiful as well
@@jukkap.5722 I should not get involved in this discussion but you made me think one thing: I listen mostly metal and classical. What is interesting is that these two genres have a lot of similar elements. Depending on composition they can require careful listening in order to hear layers. This particular song of Wintersun... for me it is somehow majestic, and could be written for a movie.
Drummer Kai Hahto and Bassist Jukka Koskinen play now in Nightwish.
Wow that is really interesting to learn actually! Some serious talent there!
I hope you could react to their song Time from same rehearsals. 🙏🏼😎✌🏼

Yup definitely a case of quality over quantity

For sure a great performance. Everyone is pushing and challenging themselves.

Dude thanks so much for this recommendation. I totally get what you mean about quality vs quantity. Tool is one of those bands and I love them.
@@JaredPoirier you're welcome! Hope you enjoy it. There are just some bands that really craft their music and you can hear why they take their time
@@thomasharteveld9614 from what I was reading it looks like wintersun came up against some technical/lineup issues along the way as well
He has piezo pickups on the guitar for the "acoustic" sound.
Oh crazy! I've heard of this, pretty expensive feature right?

Haven't heard of battle beast I will check it out!
@@JaredPoirier You might like or maybe not. IMO the female vocalist is pretty good. Older Stratovarius stuff is also good., e.g. Black Diamond.
@@osk9013 okay so far Battle Beast is Nightwish if it was even cheezier and 100 percent more 80s

Opeth - Ghost of Perdition (Live Red Rocks)

I’m sorry but I have to downvote for calling the song too long. It’s a story, not a radio hit.
It's cool downvotes help the channel just as much as upvotes! This comment helps too. Now more people will be aware of my gospel of short songs 🙂

@@W4r34rt lol can't be allowing those 😉
The vocalist (composer) only have one lung.
He definitely lost some lung, not a whole one though
That’s not entirely correct. He is missing ca. 25% of his actual lungs capacity due to a tuberculosis infection when he served in the Army.
