"It hurts us, it hurts". "It freezes, it bites! Elves twisted it, curse them! Nasty cruel Hobbits! That's why we tries to escape, of course it is Precious. We guessed they were cruel Hobbits. They visits Elves, fierce Elves with bright eyes. Take it off us! It hurts us."
For real? Happy birthday to him! He's a bit of a douche though, I mean... no one will ever be able to portray a better Gandalf OR Magneto in the history to come. Jokes aside, he's the best!
Isaiah Albers movies are subjective. I don’t think LOR is the best trilogy ever. Off the top of my head, Captain America trilogy or the newest Planet of Apes trilogy are better.
He was humiliated in one of my favorite action films, "Ronin"---and got kicked off the team, though maybe one or two of the others *wanted* to kill him. It takes a good actor to play a villain and to die well onscreen.
We could have wanted other actors included like Karl Urban, Miranda Otto or Bernand Hill. But this was a pretty obvious list, apart from Gimli’s actor not getting enough attention.
Andy Serkis also played the roles of Archibald Haddock and his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock in Steven Spielberg's the Adventures of TIntin, as well as Spike in Flushed Away. Also, I like these Where Are They Now? videos, so please keep up the good work.
Cate Blanchett also played Carol in the highly critically acclaimed movie "Carol", and Dominic Monaghan played Charlie on "Lost", one of the most popular characters on that show!
Poor Gimil, he got like no love in this. The only thing I know that the actor has done so far is he play the elf king in the Sci-fi series The Shannara Chronicles.
Some of the members of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit cast would end up having roles in Disney live-action adaptations: Christopher Lee as the voice of Jabberwocky in 2010's Alice in Wonderland Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine in 2015's Cinderella Luke Evans as Gaston Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth in 2017's Beauty and the Beast
Or maybe I can like both franchise epics for what they brought to film. MCU reinvigorated the interconnected film universe and styles itself like a long running TV series complete with crossovers, midseason finale cliffhangers, and season finales that payoff the previous episodes. LOTR is 3 part act that splits each act across 3 films to create a complete story thus making it one massive epic without any build-up.
How many LOTR/Hobbit actors have ended up in Marvel properties? Ian McKellen - Gandalf / Magneto Liv Tyler - Arwen / Betty Ross Hugo Weaving - Elrond / Red Skull Richard Armitage - Thorin / Heinz Kruger Lee Pace - Thranduil / Ronan Andy Serkis - Sméagol / Ulysses Klaue Evangeline Lilly - Tauriel / Hope van Dyne Martin Freeman - Bilbo Baggins / Everett Ross Benedict Cumberbatch - Smaug and Necromancer / Doctor Strange Cate Blanchett - Galadriel / Hela
How could you possibly talk about Dominic and not mention his role as Charlie in Lost! His death scene was one of the most heart wrenching deaths on television.
One name to note that wasn't mentioned (and for a good reason) is The Late/Great Sir Christopher Lee... Sad we lost a legend not so long ago... R.I.P. Sir Christopher Lee (1922-2015)
At least now he and Peter Cushing are reunited again to act side by side or against each other wherever they are. There will never be a better horror movie duo than those two.
You forgot two things from this video. First Sean Bean who played the role of Ian Howe in the first national treasure movie played a character who survived and Viggo Mortenson starred in the movie Hidalgo.
Seems strange to mention Astin's one episode appearance on Brooklyn 99 but then leave out his multiple appearances on the final season of the big bang theory.
I'd say Christopher Lee had a more divers acting career, Star Wars, numerous Hammer horror films, Shakespeare stuff, and many other things. C'mon, you didn't mention he (Elijah Wood) starred in a movie called Cooties, it's a great movie.
R.I.P to the man who was in LOTR and is no longer with us. Sir Christopher Lee
Absolutely 👍
And Ian Holm.
Gollum is looking a lot better these days after quitting drugs
I agree. He looks handsome.
The rocks and pools are nice and cool the fishes sweet!!! Rocks and stones to break their bones they're good to eat!!
Don't do drugs kids!
Lol, maybe he started cooking rather than raw fish 😝
Today is Sir Ian McKellen´s 80th birthday
Rockhound Happy birthday to him
Happy birthday to an amazing man and actor!
Rockhound that it is
For real? Happy birthday to him! He's a bit of a douche though, I mean... no one will ever be able to portray a better Gandalf OR Magneto in the history to come. Jokes aside, he's the best!
@Semaj Harris *giggle* so bad, but so right!
The Lord of the Rings has to be my favorite trilogy.
(edit) Thanks for all the likes I really appreciate it😊
Its THE BEST TRILOGY
Anyone who says otherwise hasn't seen it yet or read the books yet.
Isaiah Albers movies are subjective.
I don’t think LOR is the best trilogy ever.
Off the top of my head, Captain America trilogy or the newest Planet of Apes trilogy are better.
I agree. But to say planet of the apes and captain America up there with LOTR. I'd have to say. Your batshit insane😁
The Lord of the Rings is the greatest trilogy of all time. It's a timeless masterpiece.
Lord of the Rings's CGI holds up better than most CGI from today, and the trilogy is almost 20 years old!!
Also Golden age of practical effects man, everytime I see the Orcs can't help but feel amazed at the makeup and costumes.
Its so strange to say "its almost 20 years old"!
Everything looks so realistic in those movies. I need to watch them again, but first I'll have to set aside about 9 or 10 hours to watch them.
@@EchthelionII well worth the time spent
@@driftwood8613 Probably the only thing worth doing for 10 hours straight.
Y’all forgot to say that Dominic Monaghan was in LOST and did a great job.
True
I'm glad they found him.
Good role mention!
He was also in XMen Origins:Wolverine
SEriously
Long life to the king of cinema The Lord of The Rings.
Yes. Gollum sings "What is Love, Baby Don't Hurt Me No More" to Bilbo Baggins in Black Panther.
The rocks and pools are nice and cool the fishes sweet!!! Rocks and stones to break their bones they're good to eat!!
One does not simply see Sean Bean and expect him to live.
My first Sean Bean death was in Fellowship. I cried so hard when he died.
Troy
He was humiliated in one of my favorite action films, "Ronin"---and got kicked off the team, though maybe one or two of the others *wanted* to kill him. It takes a good actor to play a villain and to die well onscreen.
Again , I see you everywhere, from anime to movies
Too bad you missed Christopher Lee. He also deserves to be mentioned. RIP Christopher Lee.
What would you expect? The title says "Where are they now". Lee is currently a resident of some graveyard.
“Do you agree with our picks?” HOW do we agree or disagree with who was in a movie years ago? 🤔
We could have wanted other actors included like Karl Urban, Miranda Otto or Bernand Hill. But this was a pretty obvious list, apart from Gimli’s actor not getting enough attention.
No I disagree WM.
Now what?
Will you change the video?
this made me ACTUALLY smirk
Because its an amazing movie trilogy? And tons of people still love it today in this era?
Elijah Wood is probably so rich that he can just decide to do all these wacky things, just like Daniel Radcliffe
Dominic Monaghan played the part of a fairly major character in Lost, but never mind, Mojo....
It's amazing how an 18 year old trilogy still stands up better than most movies today.
most? you mean all
@@harewei2 you're right. I did mean all
Dom aka Merry was in Lost and X-Men Origins. Billy was in Outlander and sung again for the Hobbit trilogy.
One does not simply take this channel seriously anymore...
10:07 "Ring the bell" ... Did you hear that Daenerys ?! RING THE BEEEEEELL !!!
YOU FOOL! She's going to burn us all!
Andy Serkis also played the roles of Archibald Haddock and his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock in Steven Spielberg's the Adventures of TIntin, as well as Spike in Flushed Away. Also, I like these Where Are They Now? videos, so please keep up the good work.
Watchmojo, what about:
*TOP 10 FILM CASTS* ?
Rafael C. C. yees!!
Sean Astin was also in the popular sitcom THE BIG BANG THEORY, last season. How can you miss it.
How could they not mention Elijah's role in Sin City?!
Or in Cooties.
Or nine
Or fucking Hooligans!?!?!????????
Or his role as AI Sigma in Season 10 of Red vs Blue
OR SPY KIDS 3D “IM THE GUY!”
"Here at the end of all things." ALWAYS gets me☹️
"Where are they now?(!!)"
"Here! In our hearts! Isn't that enough?"
Sean Astin also played in a few episodes of the last season (season 12) of the big bang theory, he was great lol
Elijah wood was in some low budget films like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, sin city and grand piano and everything is illuMinated
Viggo isn't "stuck". He wants exactly that and he said that many times.
Truth be told he would probably never have taken the role of Aragorn if it hadn't been for his son Henry.
@@Outside85 thats just sad i mean imagine a different Aragon??!!
Wat a coincidence , just started watching LOTR(2001) just today & got to see this.
Cate Blanchett also played Carol in the highly critically acclaimed movie "Carol", and Dominic Monaghan played Charlie on "Lost", one of the most popular characters on that show!
My favorite movie trilogy. Next to The Hobbit.
The book was infinitely better than the trilogy (I'm still baffled at how they turned a 300 page book into a trilogy), in my opinion anyway.
Poor Gimil, he got like no love in this. The only thing I know that the actor has done so far is he play the elf king in the Sci-fi series The Shannara Chronicles.
Who remembers Elijah Wood in Spy Kids 3
Rest in peace Christopher Lee who was another iconic movie legend. He played Saurumon.
Some of the members of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit cast would end up having roles in Disney live-action adaptations:
Christopher Lee as the voice of Jabberwocky in 2010's Alice in Wonderland
Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine in 2015's Cinderella
Luke Evans as Gaston
Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth
in 2017's Beauty and the Beast
I still can't believe that some people think that the MCU franchise makes better movies than the Lord of the rings trilogy.
People believe that? :O
I didn't know you could compare the 2.
I love MCU as well as LOTR but idk why , I can't deny the fact that LOTR left an obsession crisis in my heart 😅.
Take Orlando Bloom and cast him in the game of thrones prequil that would be cool
Elijah wood was a good actor when he was younger too before the lord of the rings
I had the absolute honour and pleasure of seeing Sir Ian McKellen in King Lear last summer. It was honestly the highlight of the last decade.
No Liv Tyler?
nostalgia pura ♥♥♥
Dominic is the only Hobbit I still haven't met.
Ive met Elijah, Sean, and Bill.
It’s Sir... Sir Ian Mckellen.
You guys should do top 10 the office pranks!

Benedict Cumberbatch - Smaug and Necromancer / Doctor Strange
Cate Blanchett - Galadriel / Hela
What about V for Vendetta
Yes that is one of my favorite Hugo Weaving roles.
Frodo was awesome is the movie "Maniac"
Sean Astin and Miranda Otto also had extended roles on 24.
Apparently, Frodo didn't really throw the ring...
Love Andy Serkis. Dude is ridiculously talented.
Where is Treebeard now?
He's a cabin now Karen, he's a cabin.
Poor Treebeard, I hope he found the Entwives before he died.
Is he not Groot?
@@TheJFerg24 No, maybe a distant relative, but they're not the same.
Orlando Bloom was also in Black Hawk Down playing Blackburn.
5:10 wait I don't remember that line from that scene
*grabs popcorn
How could you possibly talk about Dominic and not mention his role as Charlie in Lost! His death scene was one of the most heart wrenching deaths on television.
same for Elijah and no word about Sin City
I'm rewatching this trilogy, ugh I cant get enough ❤
if u cant get enough why not read the books?
@@humbugryerson8845 I have so many books on my tbr shelf I want to get to first, maybe someday but not now.
Is it just me or has Lord of the Rings aged awesomely?
I guess the ring of power was made of Vibranium...

Viko in Easter promises was really good. One of the most realistic knife fights ever.
No mention of Lost with Dominic?
Really enjoyed "Dirk Gently"....
I’m just here for golem lol
Billy Boyd was also in Master and Commander and was great in his role.
I need to rewatch the extended trilogy
The person who played Sam in Lord of the Rings was also in 24 and 2 or 3 episodes of the big bang theory
Bilbo and gollum in Black Panther 😱
Fun fact, in the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, Sean Bean voices Emperor Martin Septim.
Cate Blanchett is a freaking shapeshifter 💕
The rocks and pools are nice and cool the fishes sweet!!! Rocks and stones to break their bones they're good to eat!!
You guys forgot to accredit Elijah Wood in his role as Harry Potter.
Easy mistake.
Elijah Wood aslo played Kevin in Sin City. He was disturbing in that.
Viggo really is the man
You forgot Sean Bean newest role in Snowpiercer series!
Can you do a Night at the Museum Where Are They Now?
Sam also had reocurring appearances on the Big Bang Theory
I was a kid when i saw it for the first time around 5 years old and i have nightmares with golum he was like my worst fear
