Honestly, it's just not worth criticising this guy anymore. He knows exactly what he did, and he doesn't care. The best thing to do is to just move on and let him fade into irrelevance as he deserves.

With the recent Tactics Ogre Reborn remaster, I’m really hoping that FF tactics sees new life on newer consoles. It’s still playable on mobile, but gosh I want to see in on switch.

I just bought an HDMI adapter for my PSP and, as it's been so hot this weekend, that has been my main gaming system as I've been hanging out mostly in my spare bedroom because it as an AC.
Great list... mostly. I still think the PSP had so many good games so it was odd to see a slot wasted on a puzzle game since those are... lesser games.
I need to dig out my PSP. I still find games for it in thrift stores even now!
Best handheld of all time besides the Vita or GBA
FF7: CC was the first game to make me cry for a fictional character. I haven’t played the original FF7 yet. I didn’t know Zach’s fate. I am in the middle of FF7: Rebirth, hoping to see what becomes of him next.
Same here, i never played the original ff7, so seeing zack never getting to reunite with areith and dying at the end was supper gut reching.
I finished rebirth within 5 days and skipped a lot of side quests so I wouldn't get spoiled for the main story. It was 100% worth it, I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
I did play the og 7 but the remake trilogy is not completely the same, im not a purest and I like what they are doing. I cant wait for part 3, in a interview they said part 3 was around 10/15% done and that was back at the start of March
You should play the original if you haven't, it will greatly add to your enjoyment of Remake and Rebirth!! i can't wait to play Rebirth when i can afford it.

I remember getting NBA Street Vol.2 as a non-basketball game player when I was a young teenager. I loved that game.

My oh my.. the price of freedom is steep.
I wish I was in a different place in my life when the PSP and Vita were out. Missed out on a lot of games that are now lost to time.
Same, I could barely afford the PSP when it was out and only was able to get a couple games for it. Missed out on a ton of great titles.
Mod a vita and find the psp and vita ROMS.

@@InnerRiseDownload PPSSPP on a phone (preferably a tablet for a bigger screen) and use a Bluetooth controller. You can remap the buttons and use both analog sticks. You can up the graphics. Even without a controller I played both Metal Gear games with screen controls and loved it lol.
It was a glorious time. I really miss the PSP.
I played the hell out of Spider Man 2 on the PSP! Also picked up R&C Size Matters, WotL, and BBS a few years ago, still need to get through those. GBA was always my go to as a kid, but I do have fond memories of the PSP

Monster Hunter United was the main reason i bought a PSP. That game was 80% the only played on it.
The other 20% was either FF Tactics or Phantasy Star.
Monster Hunter, Phantasy Star, and Metal Gear Solid were my go to PSP games. I tried other games, but those were the only ones that really pulled me in towards getting a PSP.

psp has my guilty pleasure.. rise of the imperfects marvel game is my favorite on psp. its like virtual on marvel. 1v1. its jank but i keep coming back to it
Got a PSVita 2 years ago and it's one of the best lovely systems of all time.

*Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Mega Man: Powered Up, DarkStalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Capcom's Last Ranker, Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble, Daxter, Final Fantasy I, II, III & IV, Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII and Dissidia: Final Fantasy & Dissidia 012 FF* are all the Best Epic PSP Games I've ever played! How I REALLY wish Capcom could've Remastered *Capcom's Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and Army of Zin* in the PSP Handheld System.
I LOVE the PSP! Got it for Christmas as a teenager and by far, my absolute favorite game on it is "Third Birthday". In the "Parasite Eve" universe. I didnt know that at the time, but MAN is that game so wickedly awesome!

I never owned a PSP, but I did borrow one for a bit, in order to play The Metal Gear Games, The Persona games, and Castlevania, that was a fun month.
The fact that we got a tactics ogre remaster and still havent gotten a fft remaster is wild!

Dissidia, Crisis Core, Final Fantasy Tactics, Megaman Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X were the entire reason I went and purchased myself a PSP, so many years past its initial launch. Even though I never really got into the handheld's physical design, and felt it was VERY hand-cramp inducing, I'll never say I didn't enjoy the time I spent playing the various games I got on it. The ones I sunk the most hours into definitely has to be Dissidia, and Dissidia: Duodecim. Grinding out battle after battle in those, unlocking new characters, and trying to do everything I could to make them unstoppable killing machines, most definitely ate up the majority of my time. I also spent a fair chunk in Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, and eventually ended the game with a full team of Dark Knights, crushing everything that dared to stand in my way. Was it a cheap way to win? Maybe. But I EARNED those Dark Knights, and I don't regret a second of it.
It's a genuine shame that we never got more titles in the Maverick Hunter X line, or the Megaman Powered Up series, as I feel like those were honestly quite good soft reboots of their given series. As time went on, the PSP really felt more and more like the place Sony sent games to die, with no hope of having the chance to truly succeed. The market was too niche, the handheld wasn't as comfortable to hold as a Nintendo product, and the discs were a bit awkward. All that said, I still have my PSP, and my games, and look fondly back on the time I poured into it. Great job with this list, Jirard. Can't wait for whatever comes next my guy.

Persona 3 Portable better be on this list. It's one of the best RPGs the PSP has on it. PSP had a lot of really great games on it.😄
I remember when my best friend got a psp, and he was playing Star wars: force unleashed, which was one of my favorite games on the ps2. It took me a while to get a psp just for that game alone, and then there were a buchn of other great games like Gow series, Metal slug collection, Cars, STF Alpha 3 max.. The psp is my favorite handheld so far.
i wouldn't say Peace Walker has the best stealth of the series, but it was amazing to fight giant robots voiced by Hatsune Miku.... also big ups to MaidMint

The port of Breath of Fire 3 and Tales of Eternia. They never got officially released in the U.S. but I love those games so much.
At the time before it got a hd remaster I loved crisis core ff7 if anyone picks up one today there are really good screen mods to make your gameplay look so good
My favourite PSP games that I put hundreds of hours into are FFIV, Hexyz Force, Crisis Core: FFVII, and Star Ocean: Second Evolution. I loved SO:SE so much that after I completed the game, i bought the official guide and went through getting everything in two more playthroughs.
Ghost of Sparta is where you can see Sony Santa Monica's first steps into writing the Kratos we see in Dad of Boy

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is incredible. If you like multiplayer anime style Diablo/loot based action games you'll be right at home.
I remember back in the day after i got good grades in school my parents would take me to buy psp games
I remember having a PSP when i was younger, but cant really remember what games I played aside from King Kong 😅. Definitely want to experience more of its titles though at some point in time.

I mainly bought the PSP for Street Fighter Alpha 3 max, Mortal Kombat Unchained, Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, & Power Stone Collection

Rengoku 2 on the PSP is the best hidden gem game I've ever played.
The combat is kind of like God hand.
I missed out on the PSP console. Only thing i really wanted it for though was Crisis Core.

Tales of the world radiant mythology, crisis core as you stated, dissidia 012, final fantasy tactics, monster hunter freedom, valkyria chronicals 2 and more!
Kurohyou duology should have been on top ten.
Most underrated psp games ever made.
My favorites include KH Birth by Sleep, Dissidia and Patapon 1-3. But I also stumbled on the Monster Hunter franchise and other games of that genre. I've grinded my highest number of hours on Gods Eater Burst. It did awesome monsters, anime styled characters and also included what Monster Hunter was missing - story. And a hell of a story to begin with. Nowadays you can get God Eater 2: Rage Burst as bundle with the remake of the PSP title, but that one is a new players torment, since it was made for the already experienced players of the PSP version. Did I mention, that they made an Anime just for promoting the second game, to summarize what happened in the first game? They really went overboard on that one. The connection to Code Vein is a true insider of God Eater players and the setting really kicks it. I'll always recommend Gods Eater Burst.
Isn't Scarlet Nexus also linked to the universe of God Eater and Code Vein?

The real crime here is that Final Fantasy Tactics is not available for any modern systems, it is forever stuck on PSP until there is a new port.

PSP was such a fantastic system. One of the best handhelds. God of war chains of Olympus and crisis core were my high school experience. I also love shin Budokai and rock band unplugged.

Very much enjoy my PSP to this day. Recently started into Parasite Eve on it. But actual PSP titles, the Final Fantasy Anniversary remakes, Phantasy Star Portable, and much love for Patapon.
The slowdown on Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions has been fixed. Either with a livepatch or a fixed rom.
You'll just need a hacked PSP to make use of it, but it's a game changer for FFT:WOTL.
Brave Story: New Traveler and Valkyria Chronicles 2 was missing off that list.

I never got a PSP, even when the Vita came out. I was always interested, but never enough to actually buy it.
I never really paid much attention to the psp but I do recognize some games like FF Tactics and Battlefront Elite Squadron
Monster Hunter wouldn’t be what it is today if it wasn’t for the psp evolving the gameplay loop and monster types, must have pumped at least a thousand hours of MH on psp

I like the idea of the PSP, but Nintendo always blew handheld gaming consoles out of the water.
With support yes. Which is odd, because Sony one upped Nintendo when it came to the handhelds itself, but never really tried to sell them after launch.

I disagree. I had both the DS and PSP and Sony had it right this time. Nintendo tried being a multimedia handheld, but you had to buy the opera browser, mp3 attachment, or R4 card. The PSP had it built in with removable sd cards, online game shop with newly released demos, way better graphics with AAA titles.
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (PSP version) was cool!

While I agree with most of these, my personal honorable mentions would also definitely include Valkyria Chronicles 2, Ys VII, Syphon Filter (both of them), Soul Calibur Broken Destiny and Daxter.

This has been one hell of a year, so far, and for a lot of reasons. Here's to the final two quarters being better than the first two.
So many of my top PSP games are still...for lack of a better term, trapped on the console. Jeanne D'arc, Dead Head Fred, Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner, the Japan exclusive Yakuza games, the list goes on!

Played Dissidia so much. Got a PSP for a lot of other games but ended up either not feeling them or ever getting them. So yeah, Dissidia probably #1 for me.
Ultimate GnG, Castlevania X chron, MonHun: FU (heheh)... i love PSP! been listening to Ridge Racer music in my car for 20 years.
Maybe I'm completely alone in this, but I really, REALLY like Metal Gear Ac!d 2. Not so much the whole, cobbled-together 3D setup, maybe, but as a tactical card strategy game, it really scratched an itch for me.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is number 1 for me. Yea, I know it's a port of the PSX game, but daaamn the artistic and HQ CGI cinematics were just state of the art Enix and it's also where I first played it. I must've beaten that game 10 times fully all the way through!
