    "I don't think any professional athlete will start to live until he's out of sports and spends time with his family." - This says it all about the man.

    Growing up in Alabama, as an Auburn Fan, I was blessed with getting to see a lot of Bo before he was pro or at Auburn. I am from Bessemer, the same city Bo is from and I wish I had film of his Baseball and football highlights from McAdory high school. He was definatly in a league of his own then.. You knew Bo would be something special back then even. I just don't know if anyone but Bo knew just how special that was gonna be.

    the greatest athlete of all time,, im neither a raiders fan or royals fan,, but i was 10 when he went down against the bengals in 1991, and it knocked the wind out of my sail,, i loved this guy... He ran a 4.12 40 yard dash,, fastest ever at an nfl combine.. the guy was amazing, and its terrible that we didnt get to see how good he woulda been

    Bo Jackson was just incredible. He ran through people like they weren't even there. He was a gifted athlete. The way he just ran over people was inhuman. And who can forget when he ran over Brian Bozworth? I'll never forget watching that play when I was a kid in disbelief.

    I agree with Paul Hornung. To go All-Pro in football AND baseball, his speed, his power, the elusiveness, the agility...

    i dont know where his baseball highlights are, he used to break bats over his head and knee when he would strike out, i remember another time he ran down a deep fly ball and ran up the wall and three steps horizontally down the wall, it was incredible. He made the all star team in baseball. He was still hittin dingers with an artificial hip, also heard he broke the record from home plate to first base, from the right side of the plated,,,pure phenom.

    Marcus was a freak. His stats were phenomenal until Bo came to town and took half his carries, not to mention the strike cut his rookie season short, and he suffered a knee injury in the middle of his career. After Bo's injury Allen had a huge falling out with Al Davis and wanted to be traded, but instead Davis sat him on the bench and refused to let him go. By the time Allen was able to leave he was 33 years old and he was still a very good running back at that age. He IS one of the greatest.

  • @mashonem

    Bo is the prime example of what would have happened. I mean he was possibly the most gifted back to ever play the game. He was strong as hell, and had 4.2 speed (That's right, 4.2). If he had concentrated soley on football, and had he not gotten hurt, he may have been the greatest HB of all time.

    well...truly he never broke the 1000 season mark because the raiders also had Marcus Allen...a HOF running back....Jackson only played half a season...and during that half a season he shared time with Marcus allen.....which means he truly played only a quarter of a "actual" season...but his name will be remembered forever because for the people that know recognize who Bo Jackson is....they will tell you he is the greatest athlete ever lived

  • @CrowenClark
    @CrowenClark 15 лет назад

    One thing you have to remember is although Bo averaged 5.4 yards in the NFL, he was only catching like 6 passes a year. Now if he was catching 100 like an LT has done (Bear in mind on catches you get hit by LBs, and more often without seeing your hitter) he would get worn down a lot more, be less fresh and his average per carry would undoubtedly be lower.

  • @tekitho79

    Gale Sayers also set records in his short NFL career, including 22 TDs in his rookie year(more then Jackson had his whole career) and the TD return record at the time. I just don't think you can justify putting someone who only played 4 seasons, never had over 1,000 yards, or over 6 TDs in the HOF. There was no denying Bo Jackson's ridiculous talent, but talent doesn't get you into the HOF.

    Bo was a blessed athlete. I know he worked hard, but the man had a super human body before he got injured. The dude never carried more than about 7% bodyfat at any time. He was clocked at 4.12 in the 40 at the combine.
    That said, I'd still take Earl Campbell over him just because Earl was a tougher runner. Earl was one of the few running backs who actually knocked out defenders. He was nasty, and plenty fast.
