- What’s the one thing that all leaders have in common? It’s not communication skills. It’s not a positive mentor. It’s not even frequent, strengths-based check-ins around near-term future work. It’s followers. Without followers, a leader is just another guy on the street. Listen in as Marcus describes what he believes the best Leadership Development strategy is.

People overcomplicate Leadership
Listen, if you’re a new Leader:
Avoid:
- Comparing your people with you.
- Doing everything for them.
- Stressing for how they spend their time.
- Assuming they remember your requests.
Instead:
- Embrace the different strengths they bring.
- Empower them.
- Be clear and set expectations.
- Repeat to them what’s important all the time.
Focus on this for the first 2 quarters.
Build from there.
