    Hello, I have an electric bike motor, Sachs 301/A that has a built in rev limiter to make the whole unit less than 200 watts for legality reasons. I want to eliminate this feature since I live in the USA and do not have the same legal requirements. Will your CDI work to replace the original one I have? There are 3 wires coming from the coil that plug into the CDI unit. Any thoughts are highly appreciated! Thank you

      I don’t know exactly what type of electrical system your motorcycle has or what kind of CDI it uses. To help you better, I need more specific details:
      1. Is your motorcycle fuel-injected or carbureted?
      2. I would also need to see the existing CDI and the stator of your motorcycle. If possible, you can send me the pictures on Facebook.

    The standard OEM setup is probably perfectly adequate assuming the engine runs cleanly without misfires. Having a massive excess of ignition energy will not make the engine run any better and possibly reduce the reliability of the system.

    • @MrWolfDiy
      @MrWolfDiy  2 месяца назад +1

      The power of spark ignition greatly affects engine performance, much like a horse that runs faster the more it is whipped.But it has its advantages and disadvantages💗🙏

    • @RobertRichardson-z3u
      @RobertRichardson-z3u 2 месяца назад

      If the spark energy is adequate to initiate a reliable combustion event then excess energy won't make it "burn" any better. A bigger match does not mean a bigger resultant fire. Use enough energy for reliable ignition with a modest reserve, any more is purely wastage.

      Hi,Yes , you can use it between the AC input from the stator and the CDI. However, make sure your capacitor is less than 1 microfarad and rated up to 450 volts. Additionally, you must pass it through a diode to prevent any reverse voltage.

    Awesome video, would you know how to test a motobecane stock cdi? I have a new coil had spark for a while and now nothing

    • @MrWolfDiy
      @MrWolfDiy  Месяц назад

      Hi and welcome,
      If there is no spark from your coil output, follow these steps:
      First, check the AC input from the stator. Verify if there is power; when cranking, there should be a weak spark grounding to the body.
      Second, check the wiring. Inspect the input and output connectors in the CDI and coil. This can be easily tested with a multimeter with a continuity tester.
      If these points are all correct, then the CDI is likely faulty.
      The CDI should send a pulsed voltage to the coil when activated. This voltage is typically high and appears briefly as an AC pulse only while starting and triggering the spark. If there is no output when cranking the engine, the CDI may be faulty.
      In the future, I will make a video for troubleshooting the ignition system, you can see the videos related to the ignition system on my channel, there are informative tips in them, maybe it will be useful.

    Your raw wires are bouncing all over the place. Now try to make a CDI that advances the timing.

    Depending on longevity span of part needed but sometimes you can build Beter than OEM are a nice bench type set built custom few times myself you only need around five hundred RPM faster is Beter but five hundread out you in ball park more expensive wires not nessicerly coper less thick sometimes sometimes thicker copper less coils loops around your set last longer performance enhancement but second set are burning to hot over extended runs and then start balancing with different spark plugs porcelain lengths difernt gap are chapters on not woried of mony used be with Tacoma cams pro racing series..Beter business etc try find journey men's manns performance enhancement build your own OEM mass production middle range usually fore maintenance free
