- This hack to play Call of Duty Mobile sort of natively using your Gamesir G8 Galileo or any USB C type controllers is awesome! When I was messing around with something I discovered this so I thought I'd share because beforehand I was going to send this thing back to where it came! Enjoy, like, share, subscribe!

Accidentally discovered this a while back but i think it's ridiculous the devs of cod mobile makes us do all this when the ios version just lets you use any controller no work around needed
It's the driver inside the controller that interacts with Androids OS. It is annoying that it just doesn't pick it up as Xbox Input mode (xinput) which is strange because there is a driver to do so and my PC handles using these USB c controllers as normal controllers as well.

So, in order to be able to play CODM with the Gamesir G8 controller you need another controller. This is the solution you found? You are smart dude.

Neat. I bought a G7 SE for my son for Christmas and we're both really impressed with the quality. Gamesir is a great, budget brand.
It is a great controller, just sad that it doesn't have the Xbox driver by default. However you can use an app to configure the touch screen options too, but still sort of annoying to have to have a hack like this or an app running on the background. Otherwise maybe they'll come out with a driver update in the future!

Been doing this hack for over a year I've been letting controller players here on RUclips know how easy it is for this hack to work out the gate with codm whether it's with a gamesir x2, x2 pro, x3, or the new g8
Oh that's awesome I was messing with Arduino stuff one day trying to configure my own dongle to read the USB style controllers as xinput but when I was connected to my phone via Bluetooth with my D8 still I had this connected and it was working. I didn't know why at first then realized when my D8 turned off it would disconnect the USB C lol. I play touch mostly with my Remagic because it has touch triggers but still a cool hack 😁
Honestly cod mobile is one of the games that I prefer to just play touch with since it's actually already pretty intuitive
I played it on my Redmagic over the weekend via touch and the touch triggers make a world of difference with that phone! I like playing with my Odin 2 mostly however but cool that I discovered this by mistake lol.
Dude have you heard about the mig switch yet? Its like a flashcart for nintendo switch. It comes out in early January
Yes of course I have I invented it 😅 well I thought of it a few years ago 😜. I was surprised that the Switch didn't have an R4 style card yet, I also watch my daily news by an awesome content creator named @MrSujano to keep up to date!
Man. It says right on the Amazon page that this dang controller works with CoD mobile. No point in buying it if I can’t use it with the one game I play on my phone. Great video.
I never even noticed that until now, not sure why they would promote that I tried all modes too.

Also realized that if I turned on my Xbox controller that's connected to my ipad mini and it turned off, the G8 would still work.
Doesn't Mantis Gamepad Pro app work with CoD and G8?
Of course the Gamesir app would allow you to configure the controller in a way to make it think it's a xinput controller but I don't want to have to mess with this just to play games. These USB c controllers should be able to be plug and play with different modes as I know there's a mode for writing a script to use xinput so not sure what these companies don't use it.
@@DNAMobileGaming I actually went now and searched other ways of using x-input and found a usb pen with usb-c adapter that Iets you use any controller for x-input, ofc it wouln't fit properly on G8, it's called MAYFLASH MAGIC-X.

When I tried to play for the first time, I had the option for controller selected in COD Mobile and the G8 wouldn't work. Switched that off and everything works fine. Don't even need to use the Gamesir app to launch the game.
Strange every mode I tried the game wouldn't pop up with the message to select the controller.
@DNAMobileGaming Idk. I used to use an Xbox controller to play and then when I got my G8, I still had the option for controller selected and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. I just tried switching that to "off" and it worked fine after that.
@@ehacker39 weird that it works native for you it could be possible that someone configured the controls before cause it Carrrys over like saves to the controller, what mode are you using
I agree I actually bought the controller twice and it still to this day doesn't natively pickup the Xbox controller driver so I sent it back again and won't buy it again unless I hear if this driver gets installed lol
@@DNAMobileGaming They can easily add it , would you happen to know a way to set it? I've tried ever button combinations and no luck , maybe if I reset it as new it will someonehow carry over the Xbox driver if I use that first then just the game mapping
Interesting, maybe someone can disassemble one of these controllers and make a small device you can carry with you.
Well it gives the idea that either they need to update the driver for the controller to have an Xbox (xinput) mode as it's possible to have this with Arduino or a Bluetooth connectivity feature when playing games that require the Xbox controller driver.
The thing is since you need an actual wireless controller anyway to game on it with the gamesir natively............ you may as well use the wireless control you already have and save your money by not buying the g8 lol. The wireless controller works just as good if not better. I realized this after i ordered a g8 🤣☠️.
Yup that is so true, I did a review on the G8 and was completely disappointed with how they market it as a Xbox style controller but it doesn't have an Xbox driver. Somehow Ayn did it with their Odin 2 all in one Android handhelds games like Fortnite/COD pickup the controller as an Xbox controller and I think it's the driver xinput from my studies messing around with arduino. But hey I'm just an average joe that doesn't know hopefully you got your money back because mine went back even after sharing this lol.

Ha it's interesting how technology works being a developer, and one that mods/builds tech it surprised me that this controller didn't have the driver built in like the Odin 2 does.

You need to have some sort of Xbox controller basically no need for a key or anything.

Not without the Gamesir app you can't though that's why I stated this method doesn't need an app. I tried all 3 modes to have the games recognize controller natively like the Odin 2 does and they don't at all. Tried other things like writing my own Arduino logic to an ESP32 board, didn't work either. Then I figured this method out by mistake which still isn't the most logical way but it shows that there should be some sort of way to make games like COD Mobile think the Gamesir is a native Xbox Controller.
