  • It's that time of year again where the plants that overwintered indoors are moved back into the greenhouse. The weather has warmed up nicely and any risk of frost is pretty much over. Lots of plants already in bud which means lots of flowers! And yes that's me on the thumbnail, hello lol. Hope you enjoy the video :)

    Wow! This was a surprise seeing you on the thumbnail, Sweetheart! Nice to finally put a face to the voice. 😍 Gorgeous! Diesel is! Yes, you’re gorgeous too. 😆 So happy to see the garden so alive with blooms and creatures. Amazing how you caught the doe on cam! The plants have matured and are rewarding you with more blooms. Can’t wait to get a bigger greenhouse! Always wonderful to watch videos with you, Sweetheart. Well done cleaning the GH and adding more shelvings. Well done and thank you to Craig too! ❤️👏🏼💪🏼🌸🌼🌺💚

    Wow!! I thought the intro WAS the video at first!!! Really enjoyed it!! And what is the tree with all the golden flowers!!! Potentilla? Looks like everything faired well over the winter. And finally we get to see ... THE MAN , THE LEGEND, THE HAWORTHIA KING!!!! Nice to see you Daz!! Our weather here went straight to summer!!! Last two days it's been 88° F!! Today will be 90°!!! Been using the warm weather to clean up and mow the park. Nice of your brother in law to take out that old tree, looks like the ivy got the best of it. That's usually my job here . We call old trees like that 'widow makers' , cause if left they can fall and take you out when you least expect it!! Good job!! Thanks for this wonderful video Daz!! Awesome!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, to the UK and Singapore, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌿🏵🌲🌻🌳🌹🌴🌷🪴😃👍

      Thank you so much, Clyde 😊 The plant with all the yellow flowers is Rosa xanthina 'Canary Bird', bees absolutely go crazy in it haha. Yeah thought it was time to put a face to the voice lol. That’s awesome the temps are going up there as well, bit of rain today here but we’ve not had much of that lately and the garden plants need it. Yeah I’m happy that tree has gone, it stole all the afternoon sun from the greenhouse as well which wasn’t ideal, and as I said in the video no matter which way it fell, if it did it would have badly damaged something. Thank you for watching and commenting as always my friend. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself to you and Deb 🌵☀️🌸🌼🌺🏜

    Great to see the collection has done so well over yr winter! Late Autumn here in NZ. Do you know the name of that huge Yellow rose plant? Also what is the purple material in the top dressing of some of the cacti?🤗

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  2 года назад

      Thank you 😊 Yeah I’m happy with how well they all did, a little bit of fungus issues on a couple of them because of high humidity, but that’s taken care of now. The big yellow shrub I’m 99% sure is a Rosa xanthina 'Canary Bird'. The purple stuff around the plants is a systemic pesticide to take care of mealybugs. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜

  • @evergreen8965
    @evergreen8965 Год назад +1

    Hi. Can you make a video detailing how you care for your plants as they transition into the house from the greenhouse? Do you spray every plant with alcohol? What about bugs living in the pots?
    I have acquired about 32 cacti recently and they are resting nicely in south, southeast facing windows. HOWEVER, the southern windows will no longer receive the light in summer due to house eaves and leaves returning to trees outside. Our sun in Maine is very low in winter, high in summer.
    I am looking at purchasing a greenhouse but am struggling with the thought of bringing the cacti from the greenhouse back into the house. I never allow my houseplants outside so I don’t have to deal with the bugs. But my cacti will not make it. I don’t want to run a grow light for 12 hours.
    Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Год назад +1

      I’ve done a couple of previous videos covering that. For pests I check each plant over, including underneath the pots and under the rims as beasties can like to hide there. Some plants will be sprayed with alcohol, others with Bug Clear Ultra if there’s signs of pests like spider mites. For bugs in the soil the only thing you can use that’s effective is a systemic pesticide. Most cacti and succulents do well indoors all year round provided they get plenty of light, a cool winter rest and minimal water. So no need for grow lights running constantly if you can give them south facing windowsills. A lot will even tolerate indirect light or filtered light if there are trees blocking some of the sunlight. A lot of cacti can also stay in a greenhouse over the winter provided they are cold hardy and kept completely dry. Always worth checking online for what specific species can tolerate when it comes to temperature. Hope this has been helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜

      If you can't bring them indoors for winter then the next best thing would be a heater for your greenhouse. Or at least bring the more cold sensitive ones indoors. Sorry you lost some plants, even some indoors I've lost this winter. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
