Those Mobil Games from 2014 did Give us some Banger momments tho, mostly due to the Models (Talking about Balena Productions SFM Video here, just turned 9 years old four days ago)
I like the idea way more Godzilla killed Tiamat because he needed her energy. It was her fault for attacking him and not just leaving. The “alpha” titan is a viewpoint a colonialist would hold, not a naturally occurring animal.
It’s not her fault. He attacks her. That’s exactly the cringe that drives me crazy. It’s more interesting to have Godzilla be a flawed character who will do downright evil things like kill Tiamat for the greater good than to use that furry fan fiction logic of “she should back down because he’s the king of the monsters”
@@DMan1954 That was my bad. I re read what I wrote. I could see how you thought I liked that interpretation. Yeah I love G more as a wild card rather than a strict hero or villain. I didn't mean to say it was Tiamat's fault for the fight I meant if she wanted to live she probably should have swam off lol.
The Monsterverse has certainly built up it's awareness through crossovers but it still has a major weak point being that it has yet to build it's own captivating video game, which fans have been dying for. This is why I hope Godzilla makes it into Multiversus because we want to play our favorite monster on a console fighting game instead of a mobile one. Also the new director for the next film is confirmed to be Grant Sputore, so this video was perfectly timed. I haven't watched any of his films but it's still too soon to judge until we get more info so until then, we'll just have to wait.
I have no opinion on him. Haven’t heard of any of his stuff. I’ll try to check it out. Legendary loves hiring fresh talent so they can boss them around 😂
I hate the monsterverse novelisations for the sole reason that it’s impossible to discuss any of the movies with anyone without someone bringing up the novel in some way as if it’s canon to the films. I don’t care what happens in a book, I’m not reading a book. I’m watching a movie. Talk about the damn movie
MonsterVerse May… in June! I love it. As always, thank you so very much for the videos. And of course there are things you would've done differently. Who knows, they might have even worked better. Then again... Me and some college friends used to love talking movies, and that often included what we would've done differently. We'd often disagree, but it was always a fun discussion. (And even in the early 80s, some of us were Godzilla / Kong fans.)
This was a great conclusion to this great series, I’ve loved sticking with this and seeing how the Monsterverse has evolved (pun intended) over its now 10 year run. The lore is very messy with this franchise, but I think overall, the Monsterverse is great and I’m so happy to see Godzilla doing his best ever after 70 years.
I never considered the novels to be canon anyway. Any argument I ever built about this continuity was based on the movies or (occasionally) the comics.
Technically "The Monster who ate a star" is pretty much explained and taken directly from the gvk novel. The lore itself is different because skar king wasn't a thing but hey its worth mentioning.
That’s because it was a concept cut from Godzilla Vs Kong that was supposed to be in the film, same with Tiamat. The only reason either of those things were included in GXK was because Wingard already had those ideas. It appears in the novelization because of the original GVK scripts, not the other way around.
I still consider the prequel comics canon to the actual films (which they still are except for awakening) instead of the novels since they tell new stories, featuring new monsters, and revealing what has been hinted.... such as the skeleton discovered in the philippines belonging to dagon and Kong's origins of how became the last of his kind, for example, while sharing a connection to the previous films in order to expand the lore. Even tho legendary have acknowledge the comics before since they added tiamat who was a character that appeared in godzilla dominion, but i will say they to acknowledge them more often by having scenes or easter eggs that hint the events from the comics, so that way it wont confuse fans, which they'll probably do some time in the future. But in the end it is what it is 🤷. Also the potrayal of Godzilla isnt boring nor shows him being a mindless creature in service of nature. Its basically unique and creative cause its shows Godzilla's true motive and character development such as potraying him as a titan keeping other monsters in check while ensuring the natural order is stable which makes him a guardian of nature. And the reason why he does that , not because hes doing it for nature but to defend his territory since the world is his domain, which also explains why he fights other monsters who either plans to challenge his alpha status or cause chaos and disrupt the natural order. So in conclusion having him as an alpha and a guardian of nature isnt a bad thing but i will say the studios can dwell on his character potrayal in order to give him more development (just like how dominion did it) but only time will tell.
I consider the comics soft canon. It’s a horrible portrayal of Godzilla. If he was actually nature’s balance and the alpha guardian, he would allow the Titans to destroy humanity, the only species ruining the planet and killing nature.
@@DMan1954 but there's a reason why he wouldn't let the titans destroy humanity cuz if he did, it would've been a never-ending chaotic war that would cause more destruction to the ecosystem, nature itself, and his home. Which is why he ensures to keep both sides to stay in their place and let them live in peace. that's why he's a guardian/balancer of nature. Plus, godzilla has no desire to destroy or attack humanity unless if it's necessary either he's being attacked, harming another innocent titan, or using the remains of his hated rival ghidorah to build their own monster like mechag.
@@DMan1954 and besides godzilla has allies and other titans who will help keep the ecosystem safe like mothra and behemoth, for example, so having godzilla portrayed as a guardian isn't a horrible nor bad idea

The PS4 game helped me showed many popular Godzilla monsters like Mothra Rodan Angurius and King Ghidorah I really enjoyed that game
