An excellent project! I'm watching from Brazil and this car (302) is a legend here. There are few cars in usable condition and people tend to turn the engine into a 347. It is considered "the Brazilian V8", even more popular than the mustang.
Hi Ronan. It's nice to hear from you all the way from Brazil! Yes, back when I first started the project I got a lot of inspiration from the Mavericks from Brazil. Along the way I learned what you just commented. Even in Mexico there's a little bit of that. In Mexico all Mavericks were always V8's. In the US it was a little disappointing that most were Inline 6's and automatic transmissions. Anyway. Good luck in your projects. Cheers
Awesome looking Maverick my brother I have somebody work to do nothing major I have a 75 Maverick with a 302. Your car looks great man you are getting me motivated 💪. Do u have Instagram
I honestly got it for dirt cheap but unfortunately that isn't the case anymore. I was lucky to get it before prices for these kind of cars went up (about 6 -7 years ago).
2023, expect prices around 2000-4500 for running, driving 6cyl cars. A nice driver with a v8 swap are 8k and up. An original 302 grabber is pulling down 15-25k dollars. I used to buy these cars for a few hundred dollars in the south back in the late 90s and early 2000s. They were the uncool car but not anymore
@@marlonisgarage534 I had a 72 Grabber and a 72 Spirit with the 200, and two 73 LDO's with a 250 and a 302. Those straight 6 will run forever if you keep the oil changed properly. Consider putting in a Pertronics Ignitor electronic ignition module. It just replaces the points and condenser in your distributor. About $80. Very reliable and never needs adjustment once installed.

@@maxlever9196 I appreciate the info. I've been tempted to do a V8 swap but I will definitely do that for now on this engine, Thanks a lot.
Great build man. I'm building my 72 now and hope it turns out as nice as yours. Come to the v8 side though!
