And you're using the beginner algorithms. There are also more complicated intermediate and advanced algorithms that have speed cubers solving the 3x3 in less than 5 seconds.
I personally never got past the beginner algorithm that came in a little booklet with my cube, but solving a cube is rather addictive. Eventually the physical part just becomes muscle memory. I misplaced my cube and it was missing for almost two years, but when I found it again I was amazed that I could still remember how to solve it without much of a struggle.

My great uncle was an an engineer and mathematician, and when he was first shown a Rubik's cube in the late 80s he just figured it out on his own in a few minutes, because he mentally solved it like some sort of puzzle.

Even now despite forgetting which algorithms do which steps I can still fumble around and solve it in under ten minutes.

As a cuber that is a good start my avg is now around 45 secs my PB is 39 seconds
And i think that you would be able to get it a sub minute by just moving sides faster

I am a medium speed cuber but just keep it up until you would solve it under 1 minute ( Rubik's cube that people used to solve is Gan cube ) also for better time, do the CFOP method

Good for a beginner but with a bit of practice and a better cube you can get under a minute like me (the world record is 3 seconds)

I tried it just like you for so many years more than 20 so I decided to watch a video and it worked, after 2 days learning the moves I was able to solve it, I just did it now on 2 minutes and 15 seconds, not the greatest but I am so proud of self

    I'm also a noob cuber,
My fastest time is about 2 minutes and 50,
And I learned in 2 days, but you did it in only a couple of hours, so you're technically better than me 👌

I recommend this for beginners use an app to show you how to solve it and then use that same scramble and keep on practicing and practicing that scramble and once you get good enough at that one move on to a different one can do it multiple times until you feel like you are good enough at the Rubik's cube
