You guys are Angels. I have to be honest I would have driven the bloody thing back to the factory, put a massive sign on the rig right by the front gate saying THIS RV IS A LEMMON, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK PLEASE.
Well, we have had our moments of not feeling very positive. We DID have to decide to pick ourselves up and keep moving forward. That’s kinda where we are now 🙂👍🏼
It's amazing how patient y'all have been. I would have sought the advice of an attorney by now. The company needs to make this right for you by compensating you for the cost of the RV as well as the money you have spent trying to resolve the poor workmanship. I hope things begin to look up and you are able to enjoy your life on the road. Safe travels.
I have to admit that patience is wearing thin...something we haven't done yet is calculate our expenses associated with all of our service repairs. Thank you for all of your advice! 🙂👍
Hey guys, I sold RV’s before retiring and handled all the tough, mad customers. I can tell you one thing for sure, you will not be taken seriously by a dealer or manufacturer if you don’t have an attorney. Period. You are having multiple and repeat issues which means you have a poorly put together rig and potentially a dangerous rig. GET AN ATTORNEY. I dealt with several people who had attorneys and their outcomes were always better than those without. You owe it to yourselves.
Thank you so much for your comment and advice! We are definitely exploring all of our options! We’ve for sure has some scary incidents with this rig. 😕
It is no wonder they are discontinuing this brand. I've heard nothing but complaints about this brand and so many have the exact same issues. It breaks my heart to see you having to deal with this and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing! Tiffin should buy this back and reimburse you for the time you spent and the cost of hotels. They need to.pull every rig from the dealers or give a warning to buyers.
Holy Moly! More stuff?! There must be another word besides “lemon” because you can’t even make lemonade with that rig. I’m also pretty sure that both of you could ace the test to become rv inspectors. What is the secret to your optimism? You are both such lovely humans
Yup..more "stuff" ! 😎Optimism? I think we are so determined to travel and there is so much we want to do...we just keep focused on that and getting there! I don't know for sure! 🙂 So glad you continue to stick with us on our journey! Hopefully we will get to cross paths again one of these days!
I’ve been following your journey and noticed the last chapter of your video is titled acceptance. The condition of your very expensive rv is NOT acceptable. I’m so sorry your dealing with all this crap, I’m certain we wouldn’t be so patient. Tiffin needs to step up, you should be reimbursed for your hotel expenses at the very least. The RV manufacturers are making millions of dollars to turn out total crap and I agree that you have a lemon. I really hope this gets worked out for you asap. Your positive attitudes are commendable.
Our acceptance came from the fact that we finally realized that our rig cannot be fixed. We agree with you on all accounts. Thank you so much for your comment.
In lieu of a hotel stay, Tiffin management should invite you into their home for the length of your stay during repairs. The uptick here will be twofold: one, the repairs will be done expeditiously, and two, it would be done right the 1st time. Or heads would roll in the Tiffin shop.
Great videos:) You showcase what can go wrong and why simple is better. Also, your videos show what never to buy as this stuff is all junk that service centers endlessly chase issues. Less fun just getting out when things always go wrong.
Wow New to your channel. You guys are troopers and I want to roll with you guys. You’ve seen it all and had every problem. I agree with many of the comments and hope you get resolution. Only at Episode 33 and I think I hit rock bottom with you.
We really feel for you guys. I agree that you have a lemon and hope that Tiffin stands by their product and makes things right for you. A lot of eyes are watching this and a lot of potential sales for them are hanging in the balance. Good luck!👍🏼😎
You guys have way more patience than I would have with this rig. I would have had it parked in the front yard of the owner of the company during a thunderstorm sunk to the axels over the problems you have had.
You guys are amazing and we are especially glad you didn’t give up, hopefully you can get all the deficiencies fixed and begin to really enjoy this amazing life style and meet new and wonderful folks along the way, and visit spectacular places in this amazing country.
Well, we both agree you guys are equally amazing and so glad we've been able to enjoy some spectacular views with you! Looking forward to more in the future! 😉👍
TG-Thanks so much for watching! I am sure you will love your Beacon as we feel ours is an outlier. We know people who are very happy with their units. 🙂
Our Schwintek slide was creaking too. It eventually changed to popping and would not hold the slide tight to the wall closed. Lippert said change the motor. Bad advice. The cause was the nylon wheel on the inside that runs along the rail. The wheel completely broke from its axle. Best wishes, Kevin
Thats our concern. Ours didn't make any noise until they re-welded that area. The consensus from both us and the tech is that the work they did is putting a bind on that area now. Hopefully we won't be dealing with your issue in the future. Thanks so much for your feedback!! 👍
Full time RV living is definitely a lifestyle I think is better experienced if you carry around a small tool box and are little inclined to tackle small repairs and issues yourself. Yes, even warranty issues. Particularly for those fit/finish items that can be tackled with a trip to Home Depot and some clever ingenuity. Relying on service centers will drive you out of the lifestyle in hurry. Aside from the frame problem, much of the problems you listed could be taken care with a little youtube searching on repair techniques, few hand tools, a cool drink in hand, and a warm sunny day.
We've been following you since you started. We're so sorry you've had so many problems with this second rig. You've remained so positive, so optimistic, but truly, Van Leigh sold you a lemon. They need to make this right and either give you your money back or get you a brand new rig. Hoping things work out for you and that you finally get to experience rv living the way you want to. We love your positivity! Stay strong!
Well, thank you for sticking with us through it all! I agree with you on all of your statements! We are determined to continue RV life and travel and see the country! Thanks for your encouragement! 😊
I was thinking about buying a Van Leigh this next year. I am having second thoughts. We bought a Forest River toy hauler five years ago. Had problems the first two years but not the problems you're having. Just started watching your channel. Keep up the good work and be safe.
Sounds like you hopefully worked out those first bugs! I would stick with your rig if you are able to travel and not have constant added issues like we do 🥴👍🏼
My wife and I just discovered your channel. We like you guys and enjoy your videos. We have a couple of questions: We cannot find the video that explains why you sold your Grand Design and decided to purchase the Beacon? Was it simply to downsize? We have been RV owners for almost 40 years. We started out with a travel trailer then we had 3 class A Motorhomes. In 2021 we went to a Grand Design 303 RLS fifth wheel towed by a Chevrolet 3500HD Diesel. I am a retired mechanic / welder/ fabricator so most things that need repairing I do myself to avoid the frustration of poor quality labor and long wait times. I get that something like a roof replacement and side wall frame repair are not DIY jobs. In all my years of owning RV's I have never seen or heard of any RV having the level of failures that yours does. I know that my opinion is not asked for but you need to be compensated for what is clearly incompetence on the manufacturers part. Those so called technicians are doing horrible work. After seeing many of your videos I would not touch anything built by the Tiffin company. All the years of hearing good things about Allegro and Tiffin products have been irreversibly damaged by your experience I would ever feel good about owning another one of their products. We actually owned a 1985 Allegro Class A and it was a good rig. I understand that there in no Lemon Law applicable to RV's but why not talk to a Lemon Law Attorney? Consider you have a rig that is no longer built and that greatly effects its value on the used market . What do you have to loose at this point? Tiffin needs to buy that rig back and repay you for personal expenses you have waiting for repair and additions you made. That rig you have does not have a bright future based on its past. Your patience is second to none! All the best to you and safe travels. Please keep us posted on how all this plays out.
Wow you two. Yes, VanLeigh needs to figure this out for you guys. I am amazed that they would allow you to leave with a laundry list of items still needing resolved. I hope the fur babies were ok, Jazz has picked up a couple ticks during our travels over the years, she get very ill from two she picked up on our hike in Virgina. I hate those damn bugs. Keep your chins up and safe travels!! 🍻 Sean, Angie and Jazz
The pups are okay! We removed 2 ticks (one from each) and they are okay! We hate them too! I have heard they can get very sick! Our chins are definitely UP! We are keepin on! Thanks for your support! ☺️👍🏻
You guys should be Sainted…. I cant believe the company hasn't taken action to make things right. Not to keep fixing, but replace and reimburse your expenses. I know Tiffin products are now off our list for future purchases.
Wow. I’ve watched two of your videos. Best wishes. We are new to the RV game. Yes a home going down the road will always have problems. This summer only 8000 miles. And we have some strange and normal problems. Nothing like your problems. KZ280TH. We are done until March as I’m down with planned surgery. Subscribed.
I’m sorry for all the trouble y’all are going through. I guess there’s at least a little hope they’re trying to make it right. It’s more than I can say for the dealership that sold us our fifth wheel. They installed the slide topper incorrectly and we’re dealing with damage now because of it. They won’t even answer my calls and e-mails. Keep the faith and safe travels to you guys.
I am so sorry you guys keep having these problems. Have you considered either going straight from Tiffin to a dealership and trading it in on a different brand or talking to a lawyer about invoking the lemon law and getting a full refund?
God bless you for your patience! let me suggest you call up the you tube channel RV WINGMAN by Alan Warren. He has a 4 part recent video on rv lemon laws talking to the best rv lemon lawyer in the country. Watch those videos and it will tell you how to get a free assessment as to whether you have a case and they would represent you! This is totally unacceptable for any rig much less a Tiffin rig! Good luck and safe travels!
I just started following y’all 🥳. I am so sorry that you guys are fighting this crazy battle with your rig 🥹. I wish for you the best & hope y’all are back on the road (issue free) very soon!!!! Travel on my friends 🌈
I use the same stuff but only on the four mechanical points, as I was told by Lippert not to use it on the glides but this is where I am seeing mixed comments. They ended up lubing my glide with T-9. Do you lubricate your glides?
Oh my goodness… That’s ridiculous to have a list that long and to be at a service center not long after getting this rig. Maybe it’s time to go back to the momentum 🤔
I’m truly sorry for the frustration it has caused. I think you should have hired someone to come and set it on fire. What a piece of crap. Especially for that brand, I don’t care how much they bent over backwards, your still leaving with a laundry list. Should have GAVE you a new trailer. Your a lot nicer than I am. Thanks for the input! That had been my approach as well but the folks at the service center lubed them up pretty heavily. Their suggestion was to keep them lubed in the same manner.
We were there for the build and documented that process in another video. We had been to several factories and what we experienced while at the Vanleigh plant during the build of our unit gave us high hopes for our unit. Thanks for hanging out with us!

We didn’t see anything that made us excited except the new Brinkley toy hauler. There were several things we liked about it…but they ARE a new company. Definitely the talk of the show though!

You guys are much more positive than we would be with all of the issues. We know how much those fifth wheels cost to have these many issues!
Definitely is a lot of money and an enormous amount of issues. Very disappointing to say the least. 🙂
It's just horrible that after a luxury company like Tiffen works on your RV you still have to inspect it and find issues.
This, my friend...is spot on!! 👍
What else to say besides commenting for MD!! Rock on!
What else can we say besides…thanks for being there for us! ROCK ON! 😉👍🏻
Unfortunately none of those campers trailers are well made. It’s just crazy how much they charge for them. They are more or less disposable.

Have Y’A Heard Of The EV Travel Trailer by Lighting? It’s a Part of Telesa & Porsche

There Also A Pop-Up Travel Trailer Fully Solor 3,000.0 watts looks Like A Coffin.
I lube the slides with CRC With Teflon at least once a month never had a issue

You have me beat with more problems. I know how you feel. Bummer.
For the price of that truck and trailer .....I would have bought a superC built on an actual class 8 chassis
FRUSTRATED. Nawwwww!
Pi$$$$$$ed.....NO DOUBT!
I don’t think you have “A” lemon, I feel like you have several all wrapped up into one rig.
Quite possibly….🥴
Paint job Beautiful ! Build NOT SO MUCH ? Maybe if you permanently parked it 😏 ?
Yes, on the outside it sure is beautiful. The inside is too…it’s the INSIDE of the INSIDE that’s not so pretty 🥴
Have they reimbursed you for any hotel costs or anything?
Too much work being done. They owe you guys a new coach!
It feels like that some days! 🥴👍🏼
The reason Vanleigh is quitting business. I’m sorry for you guys poor quality home. Hope the next one will be better.
get an aliance 5th wheel or winnebago class a. those Tiffen boys are no good making rv's
The fam-Ally is a pretty awesome! We considered it prior to owning our Beacon and we are still connected those groups! 👍
So hard to compare every single available part both use to build each model
Take it back to manufacture

Trade that junk in!

Dump that lemon now!! I Have owned 7 5th wheels and never have anything you have been through.

Im in red bay now. 3 23 2023. Love to chat with ya. Spot number 66
Time to sell. Those units look so good. Very disheartening. No better and maybe worse than other down market units
This is awful. I could understand if your rig was an inexpensive entry level rig. But, you bought “quality”. I am sorry for your troubles.
Thank you for your comment. We are pressing on and hoping to get the major things resolved so we can get out and see the country...like we planned 🙂
It has nothing to do with the quality product. it's all about how much money can they take you for and hope they never see you again.
LEMON LAW!!!! They need to give your money back n GO GET A NEW ONE.....DIFFERENT BRAND!!! THATS B.S.!!!!
what would you do if you didnt have issues with the RIG ??? Hope it turns around for ya!!!
We often dream of what we could be doing! Thank you - we hope things turn around as well.
Yes Dry lube those tracks!!!!!! lipert is just plain wrong.... DRY lube only
Thanks for the input! That had been my approach as well but the folks at the service center lubed them up pretty heavily. Their suggestion was to keep them lubed in the same manner.
They are all that bad.
I would like to think there are some good ones 😉
Very depressing… Spending all that money for something they just throw together😡
We were there for the build and documented that process in another video. We had been to several factories and what we experienced while at the Vanleigh plant during the build of our unit gave us high hopes for our unit. Thanks for hanging out with us!
