UPDATE: YSL Y EDT has grown on me a lot since this review and I like it a lot. I really enjoy the combo of freshness with a bit of soft sweetness.

The amount of compliments I've got from this fragrance is just mind blowing.
I had a Y EDP sample and liked it, but ordered the Y EDT because it was on special and was disappointed when it arrived and I tried it (I like the EDP better but didn't know it because hadn't tried the EDT).

It does! I usually do not care much about bottle and juice colour but this bottle and the colour of the juice looks very nice in a summer fresh kind of way!

Have you tried either? They’re gorgeous! I have a feeling they’re going to be my signature scents this summer. 😎

I feel like 2017 og is better in overall composition but 2022 is lit bit add more freshness to it which make it more suitable for summer but og 2017 is so versatile that you just cant go wrong with it💖🥀
They claim this new version has 8+ hours of intensity. All you have to do is layer the original Y EDT with Molecule 02 and it will last all day no problem!
I don't get 8+ hours of intensity with it 😂 Don't even think it lasts 8+ hours as a skin scent. But maybe that's just me 🤷♂️

This one isn't exactly...in my wheelhouse (although I do own Y EdP, and do occasionally wear it), but I'll certainly check out the channel and see what else you've got going on! Would love to see your take on some indie houses like Slumberhouse, Pineward, Happyland, Olympic Orchids, Gather, Matriarch, Imaginary Authors, etc... sometime! Keep it up!

Same here it doesn't give me the feeling like the ordinary EDT seem like they just toned it down a little bit with this 2022 release it will be in my rotation sometime but nothing like the Y-EDT live/or the EDP
I hear people talking about getting 10 or 12 hours out of this and that's got to be insane. I have a sample of this I got from decantex and I've decided that I'm not going to waste my money on it. It's just not worth it for the price they're asking. Even at discounters
Its find of funny how people say it doesn't last long or its not strong, my bottle is an absolute beast! I often think its a little too strong sometimes for what i bought it for. I'll spray it on a shirt or sweater and itll last for over a week on my clothes and all day on my skin. The following day itll be faint on my skin but still there. I compared it to a decant of the EDP version and i really don't smell much of a difference. Very slight but not much. I often wonder if i got a unicorn or something from all the reviews ive watched
On my skin last over 8 hours and I am very happy with it

When it comes to the performance..YSL Y EDT 2022 is (unfortunately) not a strong one on my skin. And I've yet to come across a beast mode kind of fragrance from YSL 🤷♂️

You are so welcome! Most YSL fragrances (at least on my skin) are not high performers. Some are above average though and also fantastic scents.. Making them a lot more attractive.. Like YSL Y EdP 👌
how does the freshness in the new y edt differ from the apple lemon and mint opening in the original y edt? i feel the original was more of a creative amalgamation of popular scents instead of a simplified version of popular scents like I see in the new one. love your vids keep it up!

Can i have your suggestion about these fragrances? If you had to choose between coco Extreme comptoir sud pacifique and Le Beau, which one would you go for?
Hi! I love the coconut focused fragrances from Comptoir Sud Pacifique and I absolutely LOVE the scent of coconut.
But Le Beau has a different feel to the ones from Comptoir Sud Pacifique and the way the citrus blends with the tonka and the coconut is just so good.. The Comptoir Sud Pacifique also have a tendency to fall flat and turn into a skin scent very quickly. Le Beau is not crazy strong in any way but lasts (at least on my skin) longer than those.. But I just love le beau's scent more!
So I would go with Le Beau.

Bro not sure what you’re not smelling I sprayed this on top of my wrist just to see how long it would last and I kept smelling it over and over for about a solid 6 hours now and lasted up until 8 full hours. That’s pretty solid for an EDT IMO
I smelled it on my clothes and it was there for a week! Sprayed on Pillow cases lasted a week and even after washing them it refused to go away! I couldn't believe it.
@@steve4321abledude I wore a sweater a week ago and decided to wear that same sweater again but I sprayed about 5 sprays of Sauvage Elixir that day. At work 4 hours in all I could smell on me was the fresh apples from the YSL Y😅 For an EDT that’s really strong

Hi! This has grown on me a lot since my review of it. I've featured it in some videos and I truly enjoy it. Another VERY likable scent from YSL 👌
I just ordered a 40ml online. Wasn't looking for anything special, just a nice fresh quality scent for the summer.
I think the previous version is actually better. This one is missing the aldehydes... and burst of freshness the original had. not bad, but definitely not better.

Hi! I only have my own wearing experience to judge it by and on my skin it's not a strong fragrance..
And that to me is not surprising because most YSL fragrances are not strong.. Some are above average but it's rare for a YSL to be strong.

That's true, I mean Y EdP and Y Le Parfum are pretty much their only flagships in the performance category (aside the exclusive line), which is kinda sad that their blues are the only beasts. YSL is such a nice brand and the name expresses luxury. But their men's fragrance.. imagine they would have a competitor to Dior Homme Intense, Armani Code Profumo/Absolu Gold, Stronger With You's and more. Something powerful, dark but sweet and spicy with that smooth or powdery luxuriousness 🤔
Not yet, the parfumeries still sell the outgoing version as far as I know and I don't wanna order from YSL because I have enough freshies (three-five) 😂 I will eventually sample it when they exhanged it but afterall I'm into spicy sweet and dark fragrances for nightlife and cold seasons ☺️
@@LA-st6dq YSL sure knows how to create some truly fantastic scents and a lot of them would be insane bangers if they would make them more intense (scent wise)and also dial up the performance of them. But yeah, Y EdP and Le Parfum are definitely at the top 😊👌
From your review I can see that it won't be worth retail price. There are more interesting and better fragrances. What are your thoughts on Y Le Parfum?
Hi Gregory! This is just how I feel about it. To someone else it might be the best thing in the world.. But yeah I would recommend other fragrances that does the same thing but a bit different and better.

Le parfum is a nice one even though I prefer the EdP. 😊

@@rottenrebels I'm in an unfortunate position where I can't get Y EDP here in Korea. I've thought about getting the Le Parfum but with summer fast approaching, I don't think it will be a worthy buy.
I have smelled the original Y and it was okay. To me it wasn't a must buy. I reckon the new version isn't that far removed from the original right?
Y Le Parfum is the best among the Y Line IMO. The only problem is its weaker performance than the Y Edp given that it is a parfum.

I do prefer the new one over the old one. This has grown on me so much since this review and I just love spraying it on!
I don't have the old one anymore though and I Can't remember exactly how it looked. If you're not sure just check when it was made (if possible).
Is it redundant if you already have the edp version ?
Hi! This is something only you can answer really.. I mean if you end up loving it, then it's not redundant, right? 😉 I would definitely go with the EdP since it's so good and so versatile.
But they are (to me) different (one being light and one with more depth to it) so I would more think like "is the edt" worth it/redundant compared to all the other fresh, light and sort of aromatic/woody fragrances I have?
Like I said in the video, I have other fragrances in this "style" that I feel give me a stronger vibe than the new Y EdT 2022 so to me it's redundant, but not because of Y EdP, more because of all the other fragrances that gives me (sort of) the same kind of thing but better 😊

Hi! It's definitely not a strong scent (YSL don't do them strong), but it has grown on me a lot since this review. I REALLY like the scent now 😊🤩 Fantastic mix of freshness and a bit of sweetness 👌
@@rottenrebels yes I do aswell and this could bring me to return the actual fragrance I got, to get Y (either Parfum or Eau de Parfum, im sure these are stronger).
Is this 2022 one different from Y parfum/Eau de parfum? Or is it just less concentrated but same scent?
