I'm a bit confused today! It was a lovely video as usual, but were you actually in Taipei, or in Taiwan? I'm not sure what to call it because of the Chinese claim to the island? It looked more Japanese in places - for obvious reasons, and you even referred to one café as resembling a Showa era one? I have a lot to learn about this place! The last café was, what would be called 'Rococo' style in Europe; a style that succeeded Baroque. I only ask this because I know that you always reply. Maybe you could educate me? Have a great weekend.
Hi Neale! Both Taipei and Taiwan are correct. We were in Taipei (a city of Taiwan). China claims Taiwan as part of its territory and disagrees with the use of the name “Taiwan”, but it is still independent.
@@AshleyandNissom What a fast reply!! Thank you for the information. What you said is basically what I knew, I just got confused!! Obviously you were in Taipei, but I just wasn't sure that it was the city. I wondered whether, being from Hong Kong, you may have had a more Chinese opinion? Make no mistake, I really don't have a negative attitude towards China - I would love to visit there! Thank you for the details.
What suprised me the most are Israeli/Syro-Palestinian/Biblical names in the last café🤔 Is it because of the Arabic history of the drink?
The cafe name should be in Hebrew language. Isaiah is a biblical figure. Perhaps because of the owner’s religion?

@@NealeOBrienwe were not referring to Taipei as a country, but a city. Hong Kong people perhaps have a more international mindset 😉
@@AshleyandNissom Thank you. It's interesting to get your perspective.
The visible fascination for the US (in the first 2 cafés) could also have a historical reason...
