@@DieselDucy yeah I like learning how things work. Usually if I am afraid of something, and I don’t want to be afraid of it anymore, I’ll try to find out how it works.😀 and even if I’m not scared of it, I love learning how it works.
I'd imagine they should probably check the lines between the machine and the piston for leaks. Its a closed system between the tank / motor and the bits inside the shaft, so if its that low on oil then its got to be going somewhere.
It looks to me like the oil is full of air from being low on oil and having air being forced into the jack with the the mix of the pump cavitating. I could very well be wrong but its just a thought.
@hotwheelsracer6380 That's exactly right. The air gets diffused into the oil because of the valve recirculating (bypassing) some of the oil back into the tank during leveling. This makes the oil look a way lighter color because of how much tiny bubbles of air are in the oil.
I really enjoyed seeing the inner workings of an Elevator. I am glad that you featured this in your video. This was a very fascinating video. But of course it is. DieselDucy your videos are absolutely fascinating. That is because YOU are a fascinating man.
love how they installed a Minnesota elevator silencer to quiet it down over looking the problem of maintaining it seems if this keeps up another pump will be needed lol

There's a ThyssenKrupp Aurora MRL hydraulic elevator in my city that is insanely underleved and the door sensors dont work meaning that your fingers or something would get broken 😮
This cab view looked so awesome but this one needs better maintenance than that. The motor on the hydraulic system needs to be replaced badly. I still love this elevator though
Watching the inner workings is fascinating!
It was cool to see

not only do they have to refill it, they also have to change all the oil out since its that color.

Yeah. it was totally gross. Probably leaks.
@orionfl79 Another thing is the packing seal on the hydraulic jack. That cab leak. Also the cylinder itself cab leak.

Glad you enjoyed it! This is an example of an elevator that is NOT well taken care of.
This is my kind of elevator, vintage and it’s low on oil!
i love vintage elevators but low on oil, it can tear up the elevator.
3:57 Interesting how the relay beeps but not the elevator itself.
Yeah
Man I wish that I could ride a elevator low on oil, all the elevator technicians keep them running so well in my area😄
They are quite bad.
Wow, that looks bad. Hopefully they add fluid to that elevator real soon.
Hope so
love how they installed a Minnesota elevator silencer to quiet it down over looking the problem of maintaining it seems if this keeps up another pump will be needed lol
Yeah. These people don’t maintain it well.
I actually had no idea elevators had oil until I watched this.
Awesome. And it is hydraulic elevators that use oil for lifting
The controller is going absolutely nuts. Starting the pump when it's not supposed to
yeah it does not like it.

yep!
That’s an interesting startup!
yeah because it is broken lol. It needs help.
Wow, that is so low on oil it even struggles to go down that one time, unless if that’s a relay glitch.
Could be
haha, lovely!!
I know right 😅😅
Very nice elevator, but good lord, that needs to be refilled ASAP.
And fluid changed.
I went there in May of 2023!!
Awesome.
Unbelievable how insane the elevator runs when it’s low on oil
It was crazy
I've always wondered does hydraulic oil for elevators have a smell???? If it does what does it smell like????
It is hard to explain.
Hey Andrew. Doesn’t this sound like the Elmwood elevator motor? Honestly, it doesn’t sound exactly like it but the pitch is the same the old one.
A little
There's a ThyssenKrupp Aurora MRL hydraulic elevator in my city that is insanely underleved and the door sensors dont work meaning that your fingers or something would get broken 😮
yep.
That one looks like it’s out of breaking bad tho
totally.
The oil is most likely good its just really aeroated and the color is fron the tiny bubbles of air in the oil fron it cavitating
totally agree.
This cab view looked so awesome but this one needs better maintenance than that. The motor on the hydraulic system needs to be replaced badly. I still love this elevator though
Yeah. It needs some love.
How much fluid should be in the tank does that whole thing need to be covered?
Supposed to be covered.
With stl elevators haughton elevator no floor indicator door close doesn’t work with a view of the machine room
yep.
Nice elevator Andrew 0:24
Nice elevator. needs some work.
3:50 why did it stop then start spluttering?
low on oil.
@@DieselDucy I know, but it just stopped
Hello DieselDucy
It sounds like the elevator could use a lot of hydraulic oil
needs new oil too.
Woah never seen low on oil like that 😂😂😂
It was crazy.
Hydraulic oil gets frothy due to excessive heat
It does
how long is it been since this elevator has gotten fluid? it sounds awful
looks like a LONG time. it needs to be changed too.
This elevator REALLY need an upgrade! :(
more like some oil and maybe a new jack.
Yeah other than that so I thought it was a very pretty elevator on the inside lol@@DieselDucy
We don't promote modding elevators on this channel. Keeping them as original as possible is the goal.
did the guy disable the elevators or something
nope it was running.
sorry i put this on the wrong video. I meant to put it on jareds
3:58 That can not be good for the motor with it turning on and off that fast.. this thing needs a total mod..
Not at all.
Why don't these elevators have oil level sensors? In many countries (even in Ukraine) they are mandatory since 90s.
They really should!
Is that call button GAL or Monitor?
Gal
A huge shame since this looks like a neat 60s era Haughton with the Black Buttons
And the pump was already replaced too.
Quite unfortunate, probably a result of poor maintenance@@DieselDucy
What happens if you replace hydraulic fluid with orange juice or beer?
LOL I guess the elevator would be drunk.
I think nothing will happen, expect one thing: It will be so tasty that I giant would eat it
That elevator needs a little TLC.
just a little..
That pump is going to burn up if they dont fill it properly. No cooling and putting heavy stress on it.
Yeah! totally. This is why it is bad to leave an elevator in this state.
Hey now, what's wrong with Colorado? Hee hee.@@DieselDucy
The elevator machine has
Ok
What this oil doing there?
It’s hydraulic
when is February 28th
a month and a day from now.
Motor is probably very worned out by now.
Or hopefully they added oil (doubtful) This apartment building was in bad shape.
I bent the rent is not "in bad shape" though.....@@DieselDucy
If i was here i could've refilled the oil
Awesome
Very frothy oil
Totally.
@@DieselDucy bad leveling
It looks more like frothy gravy than hydraulic oil
Yeah, no thanks. 😣

Aweful.
Yep
@@DieselDucy you have some guts riding that. No thank you. If it was me, I’d be running far away from that elevator.
Probably shouldn’t ride that elevator if it’s severely low on oil! Just sayin… 🤷🏻♂️😒
it was pretty bad. wait til you see the one I uploaded with zack! (Already up for channel members)
dude what did you say?💀
Someone please give this elevator 🛗 some TLC
It needs it
