I don't think she will ever take accountability for what she did or feel remorse. As EDB said, I think she will always see herself in the right, and everyone else in the wrong.
Sarah tomorrow: "I didn't understand the plea agreement! I didn't have a lawyer! I was set up to fail! The Jury believed malicious lies! Being found guilty was NOT INTENTIONAL! I deserve an appeal and a new plea deal because I don't know what is going on please!"
She's going to try something like that, you're right. I think she still doesn't believe she's done anything wrong. She is still the victim. She will never change it's in her psyche
No malicious! I don’t understand please! I want my way and, I don’t know if I can say this, but it feels like the jury is trying to assume I’m guilty. Is that what they’re trying to assume? Because me saying I understood what was happening and was happy with my defense every single day of trial was not intentional. Not intentional! It was battered defendant defense. It was self defense. It was unintentional. I just wanted him to stop trying to live because I had told him he was done. Know that! KNOW THAT!
I ALWAYS had in mind that he didn't get in there like that. He always sounded confused to me and never said "babe, I'm not playing anymore" He legitimately sounded scared and lost. Makes more sense that she hit him in the head, he fell, she beats him, she puts him there while he is passed out, he wakes up inside and she starts recording. She can DEFINITELY manage his weight because she admitted to turning the suitcase!!!
I believe she ORDERED him in there. For fun of course. But after hearing her in those recordings berating him and ordering him about, I can see how she could tell him to get into the suitcase. “None the less…..” she deserves life without parole.
Yup and I believe she threw him down the stairs. You don't get that time-line mixed up if the police show up the next day and you find out your neighbor is dead.

She had to have it her way. She was in her lawyers ears the whole time. She just had to take the stand. She just had to play the victim. All of this could have been avoided if she had unzipped the suitcase.
She had no intention of unzipping that suitcase because she believed he was dead when SHE PUT HIM in it, but he was likely only unconcsious. Her intent was to murder him all along. It floors me when people say, "I don't think she meant to kill him" when everyone on the planet knows that a human being can only live a few minutes without oxygen. Anyone who thinks Sarah didn't intend to murder Jorge has succumbed to her gaslighting: "NOT intentional!"
@@amandamandamands that was the defense she insisted on. Her other lawyers (at least some of them) tried to tell her that was a bad idea. She had to run her own show

The fact that Sarah kept mentioning that one dog was blind and one dog was deaf didn't sit well with me. It makes me wonder, is she only able to connect with someone if there is a power difference, making dogs (and people) depend on her; it would line up with how she kept talking about Jorge and what she did for him, as if he was a basket case and she was his case manager.
It makes me wonder if she caused it. Or got a sick kick out of how hard it would be for the dogs to communicate with each other like that. She's vile enough to get sadistic pleasure out of stuff like that.
Owens is measured and well spoken in the press conference because he’s not parroting what Sarah wants him to say. He said it clearly they ran the defense that SARAH wanted. She was the puppet master in that entire defense. If Owen’s was able to present the case as he wanted I think it would have been a much different presentation.

Emily, you raised an EXCELLENT point: you DON'T have to INTEND to kill someone to merit Murder in the Second Degree; you just have to have intended some form of HARM that RESULTED in the victim's death (e.g., if you punch someone hard enough to cause a head trauma that kills them -- you may have not intended to kill them, but it's still 2nd Degree Murder). It’s probably just likely they knew the facts of the case held enough weight in their favor. I don’t necessarily think they were trying to play mind games with her.
State didnt cross her? What did I watch then?
Couldn't agree more.
Justice for Jorge was given today The jury made the right decision. There was no other decision to make. I hope she spends the rest of her life in prison. She has not taken any accountability and I've never seen her show any remorse. Deplorable woman.
I don't think she will ever take accountability for what she did or feel remorse. As EDB said, I think she will always see herself in the right, and everyone else in the wrong.
I am SO proud of those jurors for Jorge's family. Let her rot for what she did to that poor man.
Know that! KNOW THAT!
The jury must have watched all the videos on RUclips. The judge didn't sequester them, blah blah blah
You're probably 100% right!
@@johns1625 so you think she has a slightly 😅 different mind set. Now she's 4 years sober. Or is this how she's always been and will remain
Both sides pussyfooted around the fact that she had 40 pounds on him
@@SirSmorbie not at the time of the murder. She was tiny. They were about the same height and weight. Refer to the interrogation video.
Yup and I believe she threw him down the stairs. You don't get that time-line mixed up if the police show up the next day and you find out your neighbor is dead.
@@Penny28056yeah I think he actually had the pounds on her at the time
I am a new subscriber, I used to be so into watching live cases but haven’t found it palatable for a while.. so thank you for igniting that in me again! Welcome to a great channel! Emily is just the best! She gives us great legal explanations and why the judge and attorneys do the things they do.
@@janicewingfield5245 Thank you! And yes, I agree, it is great to hear the “why” behind everything. Emily breaks it down so well and easy to digest ☺️
She is the best!!!
I really hope Sarah's son comes out of this ok and has lots of support from his family and friends.
Owens: "For some reason the jury didn't consider..." I can tell you the reason, sir. They saw the videos at the end of the day on Thursday. They saw clearly who the victim was in that relationship, and it wasn't Sarah.
All those attorneys look soo tired I can feel the "I have been up since stupid o'clock I just want to go to bed now"
Congratulations on 800K! Great coverage! The Depp/Heard parallels were striking as this trial progressed. What a roller coaster. Yesterday at noon, I felt like a rejected puppy. By the end of the day, I was on the ceiling shrieking inwardly about what a vile woman she was. Any empathy at that point I may have had was gone. I hope she is sentenced to every minute the judge can possibly give her. Stellar judge by the way.

To be fair if she didn't testify then they couldn't get in battered spouse syndrome which was what they were basing their defence on.
@@Truth17John17 🎯🎯
@@amandamandamands that was the defense she insisted on. Her other lawyers (at least some of them) tried to tell her that was a bad idea. She had to run her own show
@@hnraj9441 For sure, I don't know enough about the law to know what defence she could have used instead though so seeing as she had no intention of pleading guilty she had to try something.
Also with the way that she was playing the legal system the whole time Jorge was alive it is hard to know if she really did believe that he was the aggressor.
Im so glad Jorges family showed up in numbers for him. Sarah made it sound as though his children had no love for him. Great job jury!
I wish they would have given him a safe place to be so he wouldn’t keep going back to her
The family that snickered and over dramatized in reaction whenever they were briefly caught on camera??? Sorry but the guy/brother??? In ace t-shirt (not court appropriate) laughed and sneered? I'd fear that guy!
@@MC-pb2hn he wore that shirt for Jorge. Jorge worked there and felt happy and comfortable there. That job meant everything to him. I think someone may have said they worked there together, but idk.
I think their reactions are understandable given the circumstances.
@@tatertotter808 they tried.
@MC-pb2hn you'd "fear him"? Woe, I guess you've never edited been on actual fear if you'd fear a man, that only wants justice for his murdered brother. And knows Sarah, Jorge and tge situation first hand and better than you , because he sneered at b.s.
I don’t think the media has ever portrayed Sarah as a victim, I think the media has dragged her, rightfully, and she was never liked by the public. We saw right through her from the jump.
The suitcase video and that body cam video said it all
I just got done reading an article from newsweek which is titled “Soft-spoken Sarah Boone Nervously Details Boyfriend's Last Moments Alive”. The article continues to describe her as soft, sweet, frightened. It’s upsetting.
@@fourofcats5803Her demeanor when she was berating him in that video for drinking all of her vodka was the real Sarah. It matches right up with all of those nasty letters she wrote to her lawyers and the judges.
It hurts my heart so bad to have watched what Jorge Torres had to endure in his relationship with that woman. And for him to have passed and such a horrible manner it's just unthinkable. I hope the family finds peace with this verdict. ❤
It also upsets me that Brian's last name is attached to this horrible woman and what she did. I hope he and his son can move on in a way. ❤
Thank you Emily for your awesome coverage, empathy, understanding, explanations, education, and comic relief when needed. Thank you for making us always feel safe. ❤
I was catching up on yesterday’s video and had to turn it off bc all of the bodycam of Jorge was heartbreaking to me. He deserved better and my heart hurts for him bc he was not treated like a human being by her. Thank God for justice. I hope she stays locked up the rest of her pitiful life.
The only person to testify on her behalf Dr. Harper. Speaks volumes about Sarah
I can't imagine anyone coming forward to speak on her behalf at sentencing. Supposedly she has a girlfriend from her time in the OC jail. Sarah is probably lecturing her on what to say in the same manner she ordered Jorge to sing her praises when she wanted her felony charges dropped.....
Waking up in France to 800k subscribers AND a verdict?! Today is already a great day! 💜
She's been incarcerated for almost 5 years.
Whatever life she had prior has been erased forever
I wonder what happened to her dogs..... I hope they are in a good home. Wouldn’t be surprised if their disabilities came from Sarah.
@@Truth17John17I couldn't find any info about the dogs.
They may be with Brian, or sadly, euthanized.
Ps, I honestly don't believe she would have harmed them.
Justice for Jorge has been satisfied. Thank you God! 🎉

Judge K made an excellent court record. Looking forward to see his sentence
"You're not supposed to hit a girl"-argument from Owens during closing made me so mad.
He is so old school. I’m a little shocked that it upset so many people. No one should hit anyone, but the message used to be strong against boys hitting girls. But girls shouldn’t berate boys (‘cause we can often talk say things harshly)😮I hope no one comes for me for my old school view that came out in this comment 😂
I've been following this case here and there for a while now. I honestly believe the "additional mental health issues" Ms Boone suffers from are being a spoilt brat. And she's finally been told No. As unbelievable as it is, I honestly think she thought she'd get off.
I hope Jorge's family can find some peace now. And hope her ex-husband and son can do the same. I wish them well in rebuilding their lives.
I already feel sorry for her court appointed appeals council. Hope we're not in for the same song and dance as the lead up to this trial. However, experience tells me we will be.
She should have took the plea deal.
so glad she didn't She needs to feel the full brunt of her punishment
Hope she feels stupid now and contemplates her decision. I think she didn't want to take responsibility of what she had done and wanted to victim blame but now here we are now she is going in longer

Send my blessings to Jorge r.i.p.and my heart goes out to his family, even though there is an appropriate verdict for sarah's crime, I can't imagine how this poor family managed to sit through all of her ever changing stories
Why does she even look surprised? Not even a gasp. A smirk. NADA!!
@@Easilydistractedbydogs0330 she is absolutely STUNNED that the jury didn’t buy her BS. All her life she’s probably been able to manipulate the outcome she desires, and this whole process has been out of her control. She cannot fathom that she wasn’t smart enough to beat this and believed she would convince everyone that this is one big misunderstanding. I honestly think she was absolutely stunned when she heard she was convicted and was the only one that didn’t see it coming.
"I don't think you understand who *I* am. I've always been a straight A student, I'm an OUTSTANDING mother to my son, and I EXCEL AT EVERYTHING". She obviously thought she would 'excel' at gaslighting the jury.
I wish we had a front on angle to see her face as the verdict was read.
@@SallyRightson I don’t think her facial expression changed at all. I think she heard it but it didn’t register. She’s so deep into this delusion that she is absolutely not at fault for Jorge’s death because her story makes sense to her and she’s convinced herself. It would take a team of shrinks YEARS to get her to see reality and not the story that she has told herself all this time because she is absolutely convinced we are all just not understanding. I don’t think that’s an act, but even though I think mental illness has a lot to do with this, I still think she’s completely responsible but just doesn’t see reality as it is.
"as we all know, Sarah's a fighter". yeah. that is what the jury thought too.
LMAO I almost fell out of my chair when Owens said that - I’m like, yep - the tone deafness doesn’t just belong to his awful client - two peas in a pod

The nightmare is nearly over for Jorge's family, as well as Brian Boone and his son.
I wish peace and healing for all of them.
I think she feeds off control, that’s why she’s always trying to hear the conversation of police with Jorge.
It makes me wonder if she caused it. Or got a sick kick out of how hard it would be for the dogs to communicate with each other like that. She's vile enough to get sadistic pleasure out of stuff like that.
I think she just believes that it makes her look like a saint...
Closing arguments sealed the deal. The demonstrative suitcase by prosecution was chilling.
My friend suffers from BSS. Her experience is absolutely heartbreaking, and Sarah Boone is an insult to what my friend lived through.
Attorney Owens was annoying, but I'm glad Judge Kraynick gave him so much leeway so Sarah loses her appeal. She deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison.
Blessings too your friend. ❤💐

Sarah ADMITTED zipping him into the suitcase AND leaving him to go upstairs -- it is THAT combination of events that led to Jorge's demise -- ergo, 2nd Degree Murder.
This case will be taught in law schools forever more! Excellent prosecution and judge. Defence did best possible with a terrible case.
Defence was awful rude disrespectful and wasted time - mirror image of Sarah
