In this lesson, we’ll take you through all the high-yield information you need to know about Salmonella for the USMLE Step 1. Using visual mnemonics and memorable storytelling, we’ll weave a tale of lazy cooking, seabirds, and gastrointestinal distress. When we’re done, you’ll never look at a salmon dinner the same way again, but you will know that Salmonella is gram negative, encapsulated, and acid labile. And thanks to the power of Sketchy, you’ll never forget it!
As a bonus, there’s a glimpse of the OG logo for SketchyMicro-our graphic design team has improved over the years!

Wonderful,I am already at Dr. and have nothing really to study for. I always love mnemonics and I watch these almost every morning.
Comment: I do believe that Salmonella is associated with sickle cell and osteomyelitis however I believe that S aureus is still the number one cause of osteomyelitis and sickle cell patients.
nystagmus I agree with you 100%

I echo the sentiments of Michael Ghijsen and TheBsloane. Dr. Lyon is very knowledgable and I enjoy listening to him tell me about Salmonella.

My god med school seems like hell if this is one of the million other things someone would need to learn
very well done example. A short lecture I showed the woman in charge of my kitchen. Non the less, she still is being goat headed about using the chicken she left on the stove all night. Lord help us. I appreciate your efforts to educate those WILLING to listen.

Super helpful video. Thanks guys!
this is awesome! thank you form making these videos!
this is great! and such beautiful drawing!
This is AWESOME!
I see you drew the seagull and the chicken with three claws: type 3 protein?
Also instead of the salmon swimming in H2O , it swims in H2S
Which is dark and murky. That's how i remembered it.
The cages for facultative intracellular organism are brilliant!
❤ amazing 😍
thanks so much... this is great
Thanks so much!!
But could you do me a favour? I'm not a native English speaker , so sometimes I have trouble understanding the terms you use! So, I was wondering if you could put some subtitles (in English) or even just tag the terms you draw (like in other videos) !
Thank you a lot!!
Effective 🎉 although!!
Plz plz upload clostridium and M tuberculosis
Loved the concept.
Woah this is very helpful
why you removed vibrio cholera ??
Too creative too good
this is awesome!!!!!
Great video! Only question is the “green pea soup” diarrhea, my pance review book says that booth typhoidal and non typhoidal salmonella display this. Is this a new clinical feature?
FWIW, if you're still not sure, they've removed this distinction in their new video about non-typhoidal salmonella. Dx based on history and lab work
Thank you for the video, but I'm pretty sure I'm not a visual learner. I think I learn much better by reading and hard memorisation lol
superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great....
you did great, I hope you be able to create video for other bacteriaa
There is whole microbiology videos they made. It is called sketchy medical but it is not free
