Nice colors, back in the 60's I remember walking down to the Gulf station to get snacks while waiting for the school bus to take us home ( wow- random thought!!! )

I've seen good and bad from all the companies - AMT, MPC, Monogram. Revell, etc. With Round 2 owning both MPC and AMT, I've seen some mixing&matching between the two. Now if Round 2 could acquire the rights and molds of Jo-han I would be very happy.

Matt - if you have to strip the body, consider going back to a white body with a blue roof. The union 76 decals on a dark blue body may come out very dull due to the dark blue paint. Blue roof + white body + orange fenders would look good.

That's a cool kit. I'm sure you'll have fun doing the build. MPC kits were always a challenge back in the day. Parts sorta kinda fit with a little coaxing, glueing and clamping then putty the resulting gaps. I wish I had a nickel for everytime I painted a kit after taking the time to properly clean and prime them and then the finish color paint wrinkled for absolutely no reason I could figure out, lol. Over the years I've become an expert at stripping paint back down to bare plastic and starting over. It's just part of the modeling experience.
Looking forward to the next video! 👍

I like the color scheme youve chosen for this one. Poor parts fit can sometimes ruin a really nice subject, but its trying to fix the issues that arise that make this hobby frustrating yet rewarding in equal measure.

Yea that's an old kit with its roots from the switchers series that's why that model A grill is on there, and I think the chassis is pretty much the same as the Milner coupe, but they just reissued the switchers, and where did you get those union 76 decals? I grew up near an old gas station that had all its old union 76 trucks and signs stashed in the woods where we would hang out as kids and I used to think that old stuff was so cool, not only the signs but there was an old 56 ford tanker truck back there and I always tried messing with that truck and always got in trouble😂 😂

Some MPC kits were a real battle to build, others were a breeze to build in the late'60s. If I was to build that kit, I would put a Mopar engine in it. I Did work at the Denver Coke plant briefly years ago.

That's a great looking kit. However, It also has a lot of twist and turns involved in it construction. I built that kit for my channel in September of 2022. Despite my best efforts I could not get all of the warp out of the chassis. If you don't stare at it to long you won't notice the warp. I went with the box art for a guide on building it but with a twist. I applied Folk Art Dragonfly Glaze over the red to give it a colorshift effect before the clear. Good luck on your build! I wish you the best!

I have this kit but not opened the box yet. I was kinda worried about attempting it. I was thinking about doing mine like a bare metal look , like it's been in a shop being modified or worked on , restoration type with weld seems and all. Nice video. Left a like

Didja notice on the box art that while the driver side rear window is covered and has the Coke ad on it, the passenger side rear you can see thru to the background? Just a little oddity...

Good afternoon Mathew I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now and they’ve really inspired me to try new things as far as modeling and actually have made me a better modeler in general. We met each other when you came to Roanoke earlier in the spring. I just wanted to say I was watching this latest video and heard you mention you used to be in the HVAC field. Just wondering if you still were do to the fact I own my own HVAC business in the area in which I live. I’m going to be at the show in Clemons NC this weekend and would absolutely love to meet with you and talk more about it. Thanks again for all you do for the community and hopefully will see see you this weekend.

Thanks very cool. We don’t really mess with big industrial systems, but we do a lot of residential, light commercial, and refrigeration systems. We actually did a 40,000 Sq. Ft. Walk in cooler last year. We added like 60 tons of cooling in there.

I built this when it was still relatively new in the seventies. Not a great kit, but more glue fixed everything when I was a kid. No wonder I don't have any of them l left from those days. Yours will look good when complete. I finished another aircraft, second after a thirty something year pause. Not sure why they have interiors and details. You can't see it once the fuse is complete. Windows too distorted.

Just my opinion but for decades I always thought of MPC kits as an experience like SQUISHY TOES at 3:00am when I had house pet.. NOT A BIT FUN!! But we have more experience and skills now so most problem can be handled with PATIENTS and extra PARTS from the stash 😎👍 Have a good week Man

I just bought one of these kits last week. Would you be interested in parting with some of the unused parts out of yours? Like the 2nd set of wheels or the drag aluminum gas tank or the 29 grille? The 2nd windshield frame and the 28/29 Model A grille were for the original "Switchers" version of the kit which was introduced in the early 1970s. It came with the 32 Sedan Delivery body and the 29 Roadster body. The idea was so you could take the model off the shelf and switch body. There were a couple or a few Switcher kits. I didn't pay much attention to them at the time because I had boxes of models needing repair from the huge destruction derby called an earthquake. Plus I was building a Baja Bug, chasing young ladies, working, school and all the other distractions and obstructions that presented themselves to a young man in those days.

I've been struggling the last few days trying to figure out how to find your email address to send my home address. Grrr..LOL No joy. I learned that if I send you mine through this RUclips will block or delete it. I Google it and what people say how to find you email leads me to conclude it's not listed on your RUclips page. Not sure how to go about it. The modern spelling for "frustrate" is c-o-m-p-u-t-e-r. Am I doing it wrong? Missing something?

Very nice idea on this build. If you wanted to build a sedan, you could've left the rear side windows alone and fill in the lines of the back door to make it solid. Presto! You've got a 32 Ford Sedan pretty much. Maybe you could get another one and do it up as a sedan?

What are you using to strip the chrome? I used splash-less bleach recently and it didn't work all that well. I've got the 41 Plymouth Coca-Cola kit waiting to be built. I'm normally a 1:48 aircraft modeler, but I'm currently building my first car in 35 years, a 1972 Nova SS. I've done a little research on the Plymouth kit, apparently it'll be a bit of a challenge also. Peace and love.

    That model is totally garbage!
I did what I could with it , I fought and fought with it as I built it !
So being the historian that I am with this kit I did what I could!
I had to lose the hood and I built it with out the hood and built it with a blower and made a drag sedan out of it !
    Everything just fit poorly!
I think that model was made for little kids back in the day when they had the switcher kits!
