Why didn't you just ask the sonic riders tournament edition people to rip the stages they've been doing a lot with the game and i'm positive the could rip the stages for you. Even ZG stages.
It's amazing to truly realize that Free Riders would have been an amazing game if you could just use your controller instead. This looks like that and then some. Although the controls looks a little bit stiff and not as fast as the First Riders game it still looks so fantabulous! Surprised you did made it this fast tho 😂
It still wouldn't have been all that great, most of the features and gimmicks other than the motion control were also a big step down from Riders and Zero Gravity.

I think based on circumstantial evidence we can deduce that Free Riders would've been a yet even more stripped down and homogenized version of zero gravity.
I actually heard that some games that used Kinect were rereleased without the Kinect effect, maybe we can convince Sega to release a Non Kinect version of Sonic Free Riders?

Finally the Riders series are getting some love. The OG Riders is a very fun racing game, but i believe ZG killed the sub-series with its level up system, slow gameplay, and automatic trick system. Free Riders was just the final nail in the cofin. You're very tallented developer, your P-06 demo was the first time i played Sonic 06 in my life and i still do from time to time. Hopefully this project will bring more attention to Sonic Riders. I would mind a HD remaster of the OG Riders, and a PC release of FR with traditional controls.

I had a idea for this. Make sure the fans put all Riders, Zero Gravity and Free Riders stages into this project, with someone could make a new stage as well.
You’re a Hero for making this. MAD Respect for basing the physics on the 1st game. Zero gravity only offered fun new characters & maps and Free riders wasn’t even playable by controller.

I like how it's 3D renders of the artwork, I think it would add alot of the aesthetic if it was cell shaded, or at least have an option for it, all and all, I love this
If we do get another Sonic Riders game maybe they should introduce a Wall Ride mechanic where the character can perform a jump on a flat surface, and then surfing against it (by pressing & holding the button) for a few seconds to gain a bit of Air, perform a short speed boost or having the character launch their self away from another rider closing in to attack after letting go of the button to do it.
This looks amazing.... THIS LOOKS GENUINELY AMAZING!!! A fan made sonic riders game that have the first game mechanic and gameplay, later on the ZG Gameplay. Im a competitive riders game especially the first one Tho in this video doesnt have sonic Spin Dash level 3, charge directions jumps (up or down like the og riders ramps) and the trick system (but i know it is just a WIP). I would like to see both gameplay mix together by stages and boards or even remixes stages. Pick the OG Board from the first riders to have a much more faster boost and speed, a long drift boost and trick system like the og. While ZG will have a bit of a slower speed (not too slow) but with the gravity mechanic that can help them go to alternate path (you can give a new mechanic for the OG Riders to have a counterpart with ZG), boost aren't fast but it last long, trick system aren't like freestyle like OG Riders but a much more **directional style** (using the analog in only one direction at a time, like click left to stike a pose, click right to make another one, meaning combo strings to help fill up Gravity Points and you can keep it up by resetting it, the faster you do it the much more gravity points you earn, but if it fails and did the same direction twice it will stop), gravity should be faster rather than slow to get to paths, the gravity dive will only be use in exclusive area for the ZG Boards while Og Riders can have a similar mechanic or different. Imagine the possibility. Og Riders can have a much more complex area to go to but by risking it, while ZG can have alternate routes to catch up with OGR. But both gameplays need to have balance. I would love to test this game ou.

Mannnn I can't describe how big my smile was when I realized that you mashed the ZG menu music with Un-Gravitify! It's subtle and really epic to hear at the same time! Kudos!
This game is literally my childhood. I remember in '06 my mom got me Sonic Riders and I instantly fell in love with the game. The awesome Anime-Styled intro it had in the beginning, the entire futuristic aesthetic it had. After coming home from 1st Grade, my mom yelling at me cause I jumped on the game before I did my homework, the amazing music. And in '08-'09 when Zero Gravity came out, I begged my mom to Blockbuster rental the game, and it was just amazing. The soundtrack, the gameplay, a new fresh change of pace with the boards on zero gravity. When I listened to The Core's theme, it was just so majestic, I remember tears flooding my eyes after listening to it. Man, I sure miss being younger already. Much simpler times.
This is by far my most favorite project you've showcased, I cannot stress enough how much I love this and how it hit me deep in the nostalgia bone, like... No kidding, my idea for the perfect Sonic Riders game would it be a mix between the first Sonic Riders and Tony Hawk: Underground; So you have no idea how much I love to see this.
Just something I've noticed that's seemingly absent from this; I think adding a crash/knock-back when colliding to head-on with a wall would help. This was in the games and it was useful for putting the player out of the way of a wall when they ran into it instead of just kinds sliding along it. still really cool that people still care about Riders. can't wait to see where this goes
Finally an original idea, not just another poor attempt at recreating Adventure games in Unreal Engine or one of those Boost fangames with way too many particle effects. Can't wait to see the final product

Man, all this, basically from scratch?! This is amazing! It all looks great! In-game models look great, nice model posing, and all the mechanics look great in the alpha stage! I personally like the choice of a boost button, (go to the corner Zero Gravity) it also looks like you chose to have no attack states during boost. Which is a good balance decision, I like that! Of course you got complex stuff to work on. Like the impacts when you hit a wall and the velocity in which the model jumps in an arc, or in like-terms, the gravity. I'm sure you got them all on the to do list. My ONE gripe is that the menu HUD needs to get spiced up. It's too dark and cold in there. Also, I really appreciate you posing menu character models after the characters' artwork from past Riders games. But, the artwork in those games, most notable the original, are colorful and explodes flair through art alone, especially the shadows on characters' arms and legs, they add to the stylish big picture. The model still-images you got here have some lighting and polish, definitely, but doesn't have the same backstreet, extreme, graffiti look to them. Here, they look like parade floats in the night, with tinted lights facing towards them. I know it really looks like you did all of them with a lot of heart, and its way too early for art. But every game, whether official or fan-made, has gotta have presentation. This project needs to be recognized, so gameplay AND presentation has got to strive to aim for all A-ranks. (Or S-ranks for some of us.) I'm all for this Riders project and I want you to be committed to it! This racing game series is godlike. And I want to love them again! Please don't stop. Keeping learning from people. Get connected with people. And maybe consider day to day planning! Keep going!

I literally plugged in my wii last night to play riders and zg, and was thinking about how i haven't seen anyone attempt to make a riders fan game. I then wake up to find this, and i lost my mind.
I still play the first 2 sonic riders games on my ps2. I thought the same thing for years. I don't even care if the old stages are ported into the fan game. I just want to play another sonic riders.
I dont know why but the graphics and art style of this game are really giving me some earlier 3d sonic vibes. It doesnt look quite as crisp and flashy as the hero or infinity frameworks and I really dig that. Its nostalgic as heck.
I grew up playing Sonic so I'm really happy to see people still taking the games into consideration. Believe it or not It was my dream to play Sonic '06 someday (as I didn't have and my family couldn't afford a ps3) and I fully support you turning it into the game it deserved to be...

But, the artwork in those games, most notable the original, are colorful and explodes flair through art alone, especially the shadows on characters' arms and legs, they add to the stylish big picture. The model still-images you got here have some lighting and polish, definitely, but doesn't have the same backstreet, extreme, graffiti look to them. Here, they look like parade floats in the night, with tinted lights facing towards them. I know it really looks like you did all of them with a lot of heart, and its way too early for art. But every game, whether official or fan-made, has gotta have presentation. This project needs to be recognized, so gameplay AND presentation has got to strive to aim for all A-ranks. (Or S-ranks for some of us.)
I'm all for this Riders project and I want you to be committed to it! This racing game series is godlike. And I want to love them again! Please don't stop. Keeping learning from people. Get connected with people. And maybe consider day to day planning! Keep going!

It's cool to see the free riders models being used for an actually playable sonic riders game.
I literally plugged in my wii last night to play riders and zg, and was thinking about how i haven't seen anyone attempt to make a riders fan game. I then wake up to find this, and i lost my mind.
I still play the first 2 sonic riders games on my ps2.
I thought the same thing for years. I don't even care if the old stages are ported into the fan game. I just want to play another sonic riders.
I dont know why but the graphics and art style of this game are really giving me some earlier 3d sonic vibes. It doesnt look quite as crisp and flashy as the hero or infinity frameworks and I really dig that. Its nostalgic as heck.
I grew up playing Sonic so I'm really happy to see people still taking the games into consideration. Believe it or not It was my dream to play Sonic '06 someday (as I didn't have and my family couldn't afford a ps3) and I fully support you turning it into the game it deserved to be...

Oh wow. This is insane! Loved Zero Gravity to death on the Wii and I really hoped that it would come back to a Nintendo console. I really hope the series will make a comeback someday!
