It's beautiful. I want it. Also, it would be cool to have Infinite (Zero) as a playable character. I'm always glad when fan games turn out so beautifully like this one. I love Sonic Riders. The series doesn't get enough love.
This looks absolutely amazing, back when I first played Sonic Riders I was really bad and always ran out of Air, which is why I liked Zero G better. But hearing the menu sounds again has brought back a lot of nostalgia
Hmmm... Mechanics of 1, vehicle options of Zero Gravity (cuz the gravity wasn't all that for me😢), and maybe throw in some Free Riders stuff like the Pole Grab and Gear Swap Stance (I like it more than Zero Gravity's pay-to-change)
But so far all specific shortcuts for different style don't seem to matter. Like in previous games where flying leads you to another nice path but then put you back in the track
@@ayoubp7689 I don't think the purpose of class specific shortcuts are entirely meant for a huge advantage but instead rather a way to get away from the competition for a few seconds and get some air if you're running low due to missing the capsules. The only real shortcuts are the ones where you get a capsule and it makes you run on your feet and get to run into an exclusive area that gives you a huge advantage but is only accessible mostly to players who are 5th place and below since the item doesn't really come at higher positions lol

I like the warp star for Tails , gears need to be more unique as different types. But out of all the under used Zelda items , instead of the spinner , they chose the shield? Other than that , it's not looking too bad. Though I really wish I could get some new music , I understand if it's not going to happen.
Didn't know about the spinner. I've only really played Breath of the Wild. The shield surfing in that game was so much fun I figured why not try to include it in Riders
Impressive stuff. I was really into the OG Sonic Riders on the GC. Zero gravity didn't quite capture the vibe in my opinion, and I'd personally love to see a new entry in the series, coming off from the original formula.
Man... Kinect was such a curse for Free Riders... Had it not been designed for Kinect, it absolutely would've had what fans wanted in a third Riders game. I'm glad I got to play it for myself a few years back. It went way better than expected especially in a crowded lab
Something about the trick system doesn't feel right. I think it's a combination of slightly stiff animation and camerawork that doesn't sell the ramp launch correctly.
i think its the laser trail behind the board that looks janky. it follows the entire model when doing tricks instead of being left behind where it was created. so the whole trail moves in a way, like its connected to the model instead of an independent variable
Now this is exactly what I've wanted for years now! A modern sequel to my favorite game of all time. I've been keeping my eye on this project and I can't wait to play it.
yes they need to bring this beautiful iconic game back into existence, Sonic Riders was amazing, need a revamped version of it or remake into a new one at least with more variety to it, give it an online mode experience in multiplayer up to at least 8 to 12 players, also the Zero Gravity one was great to, really awesome aspects on both of them
All they need to do is add in path based "moves the player with minimal interaction" points like the pully trains things from riders or the horrifying centipedes of the forest level in riders 1, and boost only paths like in riders ZG and then they can just... let the custom levels take care of the rest. oh and online multiplayer of course.
The stages from free riders need a bit more work, but the overall presentation is impressive and I love the new gears, almost make you wonder why didn't sega ever think of making a skateboard as a gear lol

Sonic Riders will always be the definitive Sonic racing game to me, there is just so much style to it. I always liked the futuristic locations and the boards. But it could be so much more, they could truly make it the Mario Kart for Sonic.

I am more of a te and DX guy. Those modders redefined sonic riders gameplay to me and have only made it better every big update while adding some new characters as well now. I would say even though TE and DX used the first game as a base it feels like a riders 4 at this point already with how well crafted the mod is.

Sonic Riders were just so ahead of it's time and the makings of a game that could be a perfect contender to mario kart in future instalments. So what went wrong. To put it simply, Sega made several missteps that it continues to do so with every one of it's franchises. Firstly, for some unknown reason, Sega always needs the sequel to be an "evolution" to its predecessor even if that flies in the face of... or ignores core mechanics that people enjoy. Sonic Riders and Zero Gravity are the same game, but take out the air mechanic and replace the boards with more unique looking gear. It doesn't sound like much but it removes one of the core fundamental mechanics of the first game made it challenging but fun once you understood it. As your mastery of the air system directly translated to not only how good you were but how good you looked playing the game. Further Sega choice to make this a ps2 and wii exclusive game in 2008 truly shot the title in the foot. The 360 was released in 2006 and the ps3 a year later. Surely it would be foolish if not business suicide to not release this on modern hardware. Sadly Sega was willing to shoot the game in the foot because of one detail. They knew in 2 years time they were releasing a new racing game involving Sonic. Why compete with yourself when you can release game 1 on platform x and game 2 on platform y. Simply put. While it was not being directly developed by Sega. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was looking to be the better competition to mario kart than than riders and released it as shovelware on an end of life system and a niche platform with odd controls. On the subject of all stars Sega would make the same mistake again in 2012 with All-Stars transformed by removing core mechanics for the game such as bikes so every characters vheacle could transform. Because at the time mario kart 7 introduced the glider. And sega needs to prove it can make a competitive racing game to kart. At all costs. Finally with freeriders while it was released in the same year as all stars. It was locked behind the kenect. Sega knew it wouldn't split there consumerbase since only connect owners would by the game. Something I deeply do not like as both ZG and FR treated with so little care that Sega pulled the old adage of "if it doesn't sell well. It must not be popular, it can't be anything we did or implemented." Finally to anyone who mentioned the PS3's backwards compatability for zero gravity. The PS3 needed to be able to run the game without issue for Sony to sign off on releasing an unlock code in the ps3 firmware. If the game had no unlock code. The ps3 would identify the game but not launch it and show an uncompatable splash screen. ZG was not in demand enough to become backwards compatible... I genuinely hope Sega sees a project like this and identifies the market still willing to pay and play the riders series. And hopefully understands that every next step in the series does not need to be some redefined "masterpiece" that forgets a core concept. Compare mario kart 7 to 8. What did they change. Magnetic tyres and underwater physics while still remaining true to there core gameplay features. All it changed was that the vheacles controlled slightly differently. They didn't strap rockets to the back of the karts and turn the cars into jets I don't think you needed to either. Sorry for the rant. Sega I grew up with you in my house but I'm not going to pull my punches on bad decisions.

EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC It would be great if they implemented 2 tricks modes, the automatic ones that were from sonic riders zero gravity, and the custom ones from the first sonic riders. Another thing that would be great is that they would also implement gravitational control and that it should be used to drift empty areas in which you cannot drift normally, and also the super gravitational power (I don't know what it's called but it was the one that made you fly xD) in order to make tremendous comebacks when they leave you far behind, even if they don't believe that it would be a great improvement and I say so, I spend most of the time playing that with some friends when they come to play.
We need a new riders game. There's so much they could do for it. Or if your going to be lazy Sega, give us a remake or rerelease of the original.

It would be great if they implemented 2 tricks modes, the automatic ones that were from sonic riders zero gravity, and the custom ones from the first sonic riders.
Another thing that would be great is that they would also implement gravitational control and that it should be used to drift empty areas in which you cannot drift normally, and also the super gravitational power (I don't know what it's called but it was the one that made you fly xD) in order to make tremendous comebacks when they leave you far behind, even if they don't believe that it would be a great improvement and I say so, I spend most of the time playing that with some friends when they come to play.
