The individual laws of the ten commandments were never nailed to the cross. Jesus is a great king and a king has a kingdom and a kingdom has laws..... The blood sacrifice laws were fulfilled with the perfect sacrifice, the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.
@XjmedX Amen, Amen, Amen! Well put!! My Church is one of many churches that seem to be searching for the truth.I coined a term for this: "Torah-Absorbant" We're not quite there yet, but our Pastor knows alot of "Torah Truths" for lack of a better term. It seems to me that it's more Baptist churches than any other that are doing this! I figure within 3 years we will be meeting on the sabbath! God Bless!
In Acts 15, unlike Jewish believers that grew up living a Torah observant lifestyle, obeying the commandments, the Gentiles had no clue about it. The Jewish believers were saying they had to follow all of the commandments to be truly saved. Instead of dumping the whole law on newbies, the apostles gave them 4 starting points. Refrain from idols, the 1st commandment, don't eat blood, things strangled, (Kosher eating), no sexual immorality. Because Moses, Torah, was taught every sabbath.
Dogma is man made rules. The Pharisees added so many additional rules to the commandments that they burdened the people with unnecessary laws. These additional man made rules were nailed to the cross. God's commandments reveal a lifestyle of an already redeemed people. How God wants his people to live. And we do this because we love him. He did not give us instructions on how to live and then set us free from following his instructions. A shadow of things to "come", not something going away.
The written Torah is often not enough to decide about action in certain circumstances, and a whole science of interpretation was needed . That's what the Pharisees did, and learning their reasoning made the Jews an intelligent people. There may be validity to Yesh'uah's resistance. Let us Jews deal with the oral Torah, and let us New Israelites, Jews and believers of Yeshu'a, respect the Written Torah and keep our additional interpretations as distinct tribes of Israel.
I agree it is not the commandments that were nailed to the cross, they are always needed to show us how much we need Jesus. The commandments are like a Mirror showing us how much we cannot follow Gods commandments. God knew we could not, that is why He knew he had to send Jesus (His Son) to show us the way, not by living the commandments but by faith. Yes we need to keep the commandments but we cannot. Faith in Jesus alone will save you, then you will know the commandments.
@XjmedX There is a multitude of examples of the Patriarchs living according to Torah before it was ever given to Moses. Noah for example, had to discern clean animals from unclean animals. Who told him which was which? Also, Moses' mother kept him hidden for three months which is closer to the longer period that accompanies a baby girl, 66 +7 days, not the 33 + 7 days that accompanies the birth of a boy. I personally believe YHVH taught Adam his Torah, instruction in how to live.
@XjmedX The first offerings were from Cain & Abel. The offerings were different. Cain's was considered a sacrifice, but Abel's was a gift. The gift (Firstborn lamb) was prefered over the sacrifice. After the flood, Man intutitively returns to the altar of sacrifice to please Yahweh again.. The burnt offering was a foreshadowing of "The Law" to come. It was to create a smell of sweetness. The terminology for unclean here is a bit different than used according to "The Law".
Quote " but we cannot." Who sold you that bill of goods? I am sure you could if you wanted to.They are easy to keep. I'm not saying we do not fail. Because we do. Jesus said Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. I agree, we are saved by faith alone. He wants us to keep them because we love him. They were never a means of salvation. They reveal a lifestyle of a redeemed people. Deu 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
ECCLESIASTES 12:13,14 13. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is the whole duty of man. 14. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether it is good or whether it is evil. ( The New King James Version )
@protochris Unclean and clean is used for food. The point is that the laws always existed. Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
@intox1 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.Romans 3:19
@yahking07 I asked my friend Oscar if he would translate this one and he said he would start next week. It will probably take a couple weeks to do. Keep checking back.
Continuing, The new believers would learn the commandments by attending the synagogues and learning the commandments over time. The apostles realized the commandments were a lifestyle for a redeemed people. And after one was saved then they should learn them and live them because they love God. Why aren't Christians taught these first four basic instructions out of the Torah by pastors today? Because of the lie that Jesus did away with the commandments. See Matt 5:17
The Law is not passed away Yet, but it given to condemn flesh and lead us to the salvation of the new covenant who's mediator is Christ the Law will pass away with the Condemnation of the Earth/day of the Lord(mat 5:18) Now if the ministry that brought DEATH, which was ENGRAVED IN LETTERS ON STONE, came with glory,...(2 cor 3:7) If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!(2 cor 3:9)
@protochris Where did they get the idea to for burnt offerings? I know it is not mentioned but it is obvious by reading scripture that it always existed. You can surmise all you want about the sabbath and I can't argue on that one but his laws/law always existed. Some people even propose that the Torah was in the Garden of Eden at the tree of life. Why would all these people know about clean and unclean and sacrifices and all these Torah type ceremonies?
Who disregards what a tutor has taught them when they no longer need the tutor? No one does. True, the Holy Spirit now leads us. But if anyone believes the Holy Spirit will disregard the law, or that they are now somehow above the law, they are misled. The law will not save, but it was never meant to. It is a lifestyle for an already saved person.
Interesting; but I think it is more likely that Colossians is referring to the 'Law of jealousy' outlined in Numbers Ch.5. This is why Yeshua HAD to drink the 'Bitter Water' - the wine-vinegar when HE was on the cross. Read the Numbers5 passage, remembering that 'Our GOD is a jealous God', and you will see what 'The Hand-writing of ordinances' were.
Christ set us free from the "works" of the Law, and Paul calls these "The Law of commandments in decrees(dogmas). He follows by saying let no man judge you regarding a new moon, a holiday, or a Sabbath. These are shadows, the body is Christ. We establish the law through faith, because we eliminate the imperfect within the law with Christ' sacrifice. Christ took down the middle fence between us and made us one body, how? by reconciling us to God without our imperfect works..
All I am saying is the law, or Torah has not been nailed to any cross as current popular teaching says it has. The handwriting of ordinances has. The Torah is valid. The Torah or law does not save except that it points us to Jesus. Only Jesus saves. Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The Torah proceeded from the mouth of God and we are to live by it. God's words will never pass away or be nailed to any cross.
@DoorPostMinistries Dogma wasn't just man made rules. There are too few examples in the bible to draw a conclusion. Dogmas meant decrees. In Acts Chapter 15 when the Apostles delivered "Dogmas" to the Gentiles, they said "It seemed good to us AND the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a man. Colossians says these things are a shadow of things to come. The Greek has no future tense in that sentence. It was merely defining what the festival, new moon and Sabbath represented "a shadow".
@XjmedX Elohoim's laws always existed but not "The Law" Torah. The 4th commandment, for example, could not possibly have come into existence until after the 6th day of creation, yet his laws were in place earlier. The Lord says of the New Covenant, "I will write my laws into their hearts, but notice, he didn't say "Law" but rather laws or his "principles". Yahweh is eternal and so is his goodness. Where did Yahweh instruct Noah to offer these burnt offerings? I thought Noah did it on his own?
This is why jews will never accept Yeshua. It's because christians teach that he did away with the law and the Torah says anyone who does that is not of YHWH. Deu 13:1 “When there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he shall give you a sign or a wonder, Deu 13:2 and the sign or the wonder shall come true, of which he has spoken to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other mighty ones - which you have not known - and serve them,’ do not listen to the words of that prophet
@protochris The Torah has always existed. It is why you have Cain and Abel giving burnt offerings to YHWH and why YHWH tells Noah to bring two of the UNCLEAN animals and 7 of the clean. The sabbath was sanctified by YHWH in Gen 2:2 and all these examples were before Abraham and WAY before Moses. The Torah was given in a written form to Moses but it always existed. When YHWH said let there be light, there was Torah. Yeshua is the living Torah, the living Word.
+Esteves Francisco It's really self explanatory. The righteous shall live by faith. Not trusting in the works of the law for salvation. Doesn't mean become lawless now. It means be obedient to the law because you love God. He says if you love me, keep my commandments. Don't try to keep the law thinking it will save you or earn you brownie points some how. It is a simple act of love for our God. Did you realize the new testament was originally written in Greek. Then translated to English. It helps to study the original or at least compare with a concordance. One Greek word can and is translated many different ways, depending on context. Beware of people that put their full trust in a translator.
@DoorPostMinistries Sounds a bit like you're describing Noahide laws. The early baptized "people of the nations" were children of Abraham, not Noah, yet the "works of the law" (circumcision, Sabbath) were never binding on them, especially after church replaced synagogue. Most of the decrees were a concession to the Pharisees who denied Christ's sanctification apart from the law. If you're upset about churches not teaching biblical morality today, blame Martin Luther and protestantism.
@XjmedX Torah always existed? The spoken word has no beginning,"In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and God was the Word. Torah was not in the beginning. Noah brought unclean animals, but were they unclean to eat or only for sacrifice?
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Romans 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: 15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,....
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
You asked "Was the Law Nailed to the Cross?' NO, it was fulfilled! The law was given to us as away for us to live and be righteous in the site of our Lord. Now it is not a list of do and don't as much as a way of being as we accept Him as our Lord and Savor. We become like-minded as in how the law was first given for us to live as a work to be done by us. It is now through Grass that our Lord see us righteous so as I see it the Law is now a way of Being that calls us in to action. It is no longer by our works that we are saved. It is as we take on the same mine of Christ our works reflecting His well and way of being. As you stated; “Law itself (Yahuah's Instructions) or the list of our Crimes against us that was nailed to the torture stake with Yahusha.”
Beware of people who make videos they won't read it just from the bible the Greek to find meanings they don't realy trust the bible they rather go to the Greek.
Thank you for presenting the Truth. "Now, he who keeps His Commandments abides in Him, and He in him." 1 John 3:24
Our transgression of the law was nailed to the cross!, that is what wad in our way!, the law still stands!
The individual laws of the ten commandments were never nailed to the cross. Jesus is a great king and a king has a kingdom and a kingdom has laws.....
The blood sacrifice laws were fulfilled with the perfect sacrifice, the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.
