So super cute! I had to try it so I got a mini and LOVE it! Best gel polish ever. Also fastest light dry too. Now I'm gonna have to by the maxi too! Thanks!
The maxi is SO nice especially when you're used to just the one finger at a time haha. But I love that it's still smaller than most big lamps, just so convenient!
@@evitathediva371 I was really loving it and not as gentle on my nails as usual while wearing it, so that I could really test the gel. Sadly it chipped after 2 days, and it was a pretty significant chip (like a fourth of the nail surface polish came off). My nail didn't break though and I like changing my polish often, so it really wasn't that big of a deal. Super easy to set and remove! I would definitely use this for travel.
@@nataliesirota2611 Have you found any more success with the polish lasting longer? I ordered my maxi kit and am waiting for it to arrive but have been seeing a lot of reviews that these polishes don’t last. I also heard that they lose their shine after a few days.
So glad to see you reviewing some gels! I'm a bit skeptical of a one step product. I'd be interested to know how it wears. None of these colors really stood out to me. I'm still waiting for a gel brand to start making more innovative polishes. I want cirque, but in gel form! Lately I've been using gel polishes and throwing holo top coat on, but I'd like some gel polishes with holo in them already. I mean, there has to be a market for that right?!?!?
I Love candles! Great idea for gift giving, but I stopped giving to people because I worked with a few people that couldn't handle strong smells because of allergies! So I stopped, unless I knew for sure about allergies! Anyway, I'm assuming that these are much easier to soak off? You never covered that, or I missed that! I really appreciate your swatches! Thank you!😍
I used it for three months, and it completely ruined my nails. It was so hard removing it, and I had to soak my nails for up to 30 min in acetone, so my nails turned so soft. I loved the concept, the polishes, how long they lasted and the colours. But the removal process killed it for me. So I am back to being an ILNP girl.
Oh no that sounds terrible! I've been using them for a couple of years now but thankfully haven't had that issue :( I do find that filing off the top layer of gel makes a HUGE difference before removal!
@@KelliMarissa oh, I filled! I went through so many different files! I even talked to Le mini macaron about it, and I even tried not filing my nails before application, because they suggested it. I did use them exclusively for three months, and maybe I should have used regular nail polish in between. Still, I did love them, and wish that it would have worked. My perfect polish dream would be a marriage between ILNP and Le mini... that would come off easily.😉❤️
@@Zemmawesth from my personal experience, when wearing gel polish your nails will be damaged for sure. Sadly. From my experience, my nails always end up thin. I have been wearing gel polish exclusively on my nails for 4 months. My nails are super thin underneath, but because I wear gel polish every day, it doesn’t bother me. Also, if you are looking for a more affordable gel polish that is really good quality. Try amilie gel polish form amazon. It works really well and is cheap.
I love the macaron shapes of the lamps. This makes me really want to try out gels at home since even the removal is not so bad. I guess I need to decide between the black and the plum color for the mini lamp set to try it out and then later get the big lamp if it feels like for me. Ooh I’ll have to check out your other review of this brand but I gotta say this comes real close to convincing me to give gel polish a shot! A kit with everything that’s pretty easy? Yeah I’m down.
Hi kelli, I have a uv/led lamp in the mail and I was wondering why on some polishes it has different curing times for uv and led and how do I know which one to go with when my lamp arrives?
If your lamp is marketed as an LED lamp go with the LED time recommended on your polish bottle. An LED lamp is a type of UV lamp. If you had a UV lamp that was not an LED lamp (these have pretty much been phased out at this point) then you would need to cure for the longer UV time. Almost all brands of gel polish have switched over to being LED curable, because it is much faster. Hi! Can the lamp be used with a different brand of gel nail polish? Also, after slightly filing the top of the nail (before application) is it necessary to rub with acetone/alcohol and then applying the nail polish?
I have used lots of brands with the LMM lamp with no issues, this is my go-to lamp to use cause it's so conveniently sized! I don't know if they have a clear color though!
Why do you think it's hard to apply? The application is the same as regular polish. The difference is that it does not dry down so you can work with it as long as you like until you're ready to cure it with the light.
I found they applied the same as regular polish - like the above commenter said, slightly easier because you can move it around for as long as you need! UV lamps are considered not good for you but this is a LED lamp so there's minimal UV exposure, definitely doesn't feel hot like some lamps haha
LED lamps do expose you to UV light, which can cause skin cancer. You also get exposure to UV light whenever you are in the sun. The exposure time is pretty minimal during a manicure. Typically 30 seconds per coat of polish. With this one step polish that would mean 1 minute of exposure per manicure. There are fingerless gloves made specifically for use during gel polish manicures if you want to limit your exposure. I have found gel polishes generally easier to work with than regular polish because you don't have to worry about the polish starting to dry while you are still painting. I have found the ease of application to depend mostly on the formula of the particular brand. RCM polishes tend to be runny/watery and flood the cuticles. Gelish can be a bit on the thick side sometimes (or maybe mine are just a bit old), but not too thick to work with. Most polishes are somewhere in between. CND shellac is very user friendly. So is sensationail (sally hansen). What I really love about gel polish is the durability. It doesn't come off until I remove it (typically 3 weeks after I apply it).
How long did it stay? Jw, since I'm very active and work with my hands. Trying to find a good beginner friendly gel company that won't give in super easily to a lil bit of hard work :)
That's actually a great question - to be honest, I don't generally wear polishes (even gel) for longer than 3 days because I'm usually doing reviews haha. But since this brand is a one step system, it might not be great for lasting power! Another brand I love is Modelones - might be worth looking into!
