    interesting tips. I fully agree on your own call sign. when I was learning morse code, they told me to memorize and recognize my callsign, all speeds.

    Thanks for this. I just retired and have been poking at CW for too many years, not consistently though. Setting a firm goal ( say 60 days) gives me something attainable to work for. Not seeking " perfection" should help as I am a great starter, but a lousy finisher ( look in my junk box for partially assembled kits...)
    Might even finish up on the antenna in the attic (HOA) at the same time!

    Great video! In my other life I'm a flight instructor (although I work at a school that flies Cessnas, I believe that learning in a tailwheel like the Champ is the only way to go!!!). I'm a ham now learning the code -- I want to use a straight key because that's what my father used, and I think it's "cooler" but I find paddles easier. So I'm learning on paddles, and when I'm proficient I plan to add the straight key. I always say pick a method and stick to it -- diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

      @@phliar very true. Champ was my first choice but no room for new students. Have learning cw.
