Thanks John. I would agree. I was 13 in 1989 and Kramer was a guitar I always wanted back then but couldn't afford. Though it's new and inexpensive, it definitely takes me back.
@@benpowersguitar Nice! I feel that way about Gibson. Always wanted one but being in my 49s… I can finally afford it! I know the feeling h be it it is nice to buy the gear you’ve always wanted! Have a great Sunday!
Yeah, I was looking at the Wilkinson last night. I have used one in the past and was happy with it. Though I had no issues with the Fender ones I had either. Thanks for the info. I appreciate you watching.
I have the same one and bought Gotoh tuners and a Fender tremolo but haven’t had time to install them yet. Seriously considering buying another one in a different color. Enjoy!
I have a white one and blue coming, now that I've seen the red I want one too. So inexpensive but definitely my favorite look, Explorer hockey stick on a strat. To me doesn't get any better.
I wonder why the boxes keep getting packed upside down. Maybe they are stacked for a right-handed person and packed by a left-handed person. Glad everything arrived undamaged. I love how you are showing the amp settings now too, great addition to the video.
@@benpowersguitar I'm glad it was OK. I could see the concern on your face when you saw the box upside down. Looking forward to full videos of you playing it. Only a week to go till I get the Mitchells.
@@ccjmusic Woo hoo! I spent 2 days with mine when I first got it. 1st thing I did was learn the Whole Lotta Love solo. Great classic rock tone. Of course, the first thing I did with the Kramer was learn Running With The Devil. I mean, it is a Kramer, kind of had to go there.
@@benpowersguitar definitely works, I did that on mine and the volume functions just fine now. A great guitar, thinking of swapping the trem to Floyd later.
@@jukka9333 That was great, I did it the other day. Volume is fine now, appreciate that. I am also considering the FR swap, though for now, installing a Wilkinson.
@@benpowersguitar Ok, I made a bone nut for my Kramer, better than the plastic one for sure but the problem is the banana headstock. Some strings get pinched between the nut and tuner and go sharp after using the whammy because of the direction of the strings after the nut. The problem is the same as with Les Paul design...Hard to cut the nut correctly...
It might, but it's not offered on this model. Also, I really was wanting it for Van Halen, Extreme and similar music, so a P90 wouldn't do it in this case. Still might be neat to see one with a chrome or black P90 though. I do like the old Melody Makers with a P90.
@@jessetate9701 That would be. I haven't listened to much Dokken in the past decade, but damn Don had the pipes and George had the chops back when I did. No promises, but I will look in to it. I love the idea.
I own two original 1980's Kramers that I bought new when Kramer still owned his company. While heavier than some guitars out there today, Gibson has done nothing for the brand. They have put out a limited run of "named" guitars only. They are nothing like the originals, and deserve to be relegated to nothing more than another Gibson takeover. It's a shame that the economy of the early 2000's killed off a guitar company that was actually competing with Gibson with ingenuity and relevant designs. ESP will be the closest you'll come to an original Kramer. After all, they made some of Kramer's models for Kramer there at the end.

Very good review! Kramer seems to have made a tremendous comeback with making sweet guitars once again. Great video!

Thanks man. I appreciate the support.

Wow Ben 🔥 beauyful Guitar 🎸
Remove the treble bleed cap it’s a known issue, lots of videos on RUclips. It destroys volume roll off, remove and it’s perfect.
Thanks, I will check that out.
