That particular chassis needs the Jay Dickens motor in it to finish the SLM season. It has proven to be an exceptional winning car.

Yeah, not a Dickens motor. Lol But engine, chassis and driver are an exceptional winning combo and car!
Actually adding the HP they would be adding with the Jay Dickens engine may make it handle worse. HP can play a big role in how a car handles.

Ronnie is a legend , I was at pennsboro when he won the DTWC
He won it twice. One of the all time greats. His dad won the first world 600. Racing is in his blood just as it is red farmer.

That chassis is a unit , won its first two nights with the southern All stars , made the world , Won the national 100, super bee 50k , Harvey Jones just to name a few of its highlights since u got it
He should put the super motor in it and see how it does. Gotta be better than the new chassis

Indeed Ronnie Johnson is a Hall of Famer, because I can remember watching him race with the Hav-a-Tampa late model series with the J & J Steel # five car which he was a teammate of Bloomer back in thr late 90s.
I remember that as well. My uncle raced that series number 44 Robert earl Holbert.
Ronnie actually did a lot better before he started driving for bloomer. He started in the late 70s. Won two dirt world championships .
I remember Ronnie Won almost every late model race at east Alabama one year I can't remember if it was the state or nationals .
@@michaelarrington988 he also was a Legend at atomic speedway I Knoxville for many years. One night at Boyd’s speedway saw him win the pole and spun out on second lap in front of everyone. Went to the back and got penalized a lap for jumping the start. He not o lt won the race but checked out on the field.
One year he held the nickname “the emperor of Rome”. He won a lot at Rome speedway. His most dominant years were his time with bob Miller Hawkeye construction along with jack Boggs.

BTW, I met Red Farmer a couple times and he was great to talk to. A living legend throughout multiple series.

I remember when Ronnie Johnson the Chanottgona Flash as they call him. Used to run the super late class, I remember him running Mineral Wells in the mid 90's running the old Hampa-Tampa dirt series with Scott Bloomquist's team car in the super lates.
Ronnie was one of the best way before he started driving for bloomer. Started in mid 70s. His dad,joe Lee Johnson won the first world 600 in nascar.

Just a reminder about Red when Davey Alison crashed his helicopter on takeoff Red was in the helicopter with Davey and David was killed in that crash.

Best advice I've heard. Drive where you want to be at the rate of speed you think it should take. If that doesn't work, we start to find out why.

FACTS
What is that going to teach him and how will it challenge him to get better. I know our goal with the race team is to constantly challenge our driver and get him to improve. Watching him win in a class that isn't a real challenge gets boring and doesn't improve the team.

@@jasonnelson2744 lighten up there chief there are plenty of big crate races they can travel to with great competition if that's what they want to do. Financially speaking what good does it do the team to travel to all the big super shows and spend a ton of cash.
@@johnsabat3553 maybe you should take your advice and lighten up. If they can figure out how to run big shows financially then who cars it is there dream so I just follow along to see how it is going. If I can pick up some things from them that help the team I am with then I try to implement them too.

No not really. It's a different car and engine. It fits Joseph's driving style better. He still struggles in the super car. That's why they are back in crates
The only thing they figured out was that they can't run with the big dogs. He needs to stay in crates. If he did he could be a champion easily.

@@tonygreene8476 I quit racing due to a back injury. But I ran, fwd, street stock, hobby, limited lates, and super lates. Also raced go karts. Raced for over 25 years.

That's because it's a crate car, not his super car. Crates is where he belongs, not with the big dogs
@@bigcountryproductions2097 he belongs where he wants to race. All these arm chair drivers think you just move up to super late models and just start winning like you do in the 604 crate. Everyone complaining needs to get there own car and let the driving do the talking.
@@bryanadams89982 been there done that my guy. I say he needs to stay in crates because he isn't ready to move up. I've seen it all to often. Racers win a lot one year in street stocks and move up the next year only to struggle. It's not a jab at Joseph. It's just he isn't ready to be at that elite level. He tried, he got lapped, and he got humbled. If he truly wanted to run the elites then that would be the only thing he ran. Week in and week out. Hell, he would have raced supers this weekend if that was his goal. But he knows he would just go out and struggle. So he done the smart thing and dropped to crates and not only won but dominated. That helped the team moral, which they needed. He's already hinted about running the SAS next year. That's because he knows with the elites he's outclassed.

@@donyalewells1388 I want to agree with you really bad but this is why I disagree . If he had a miniscule of a thought that it was the chassis he should have swapped engines. Now Vern will tell you the car has to be inspected first. Rather he's right or wrong Joseph should have wanted to try it just to make sure. But he didn't. Never once mentioned it. That's why I believe they are content on staying right where they are.
