    I have been researching a lot of different techniques of how to create a repeating pattern, this one is definitely the most amazing one. Thanks for sharing it :)

    Just to say thank you SO much for this. I was not aware of Pattern Preview and found so many tutorials around using the "Offset" thing, which I could never get to work correctly.

      YAY I’m so glad that this was helpful!! I definitely think there’s a time and a place for both techniques. I definitely use the offset tool for certain patterns (e.g., half-drop repeats), but the pattern preview is so helpful for regular scattered or geometric patterns. Isn’t it so magical the first time you use it?! 🙌🏼

    I’m so glad I came across your tutorials! They are so unbelievably helpful, I’m in the second year of my degree in Textile Design and your videos help me so much!! Would you be able to do a video on creating a half drop repeat? 🤍🤍

      Omg I’m actually so flattered to know that my videos were helpful to an actual textile design student! I’m so glad to hear that!! I can definitely do that - half drops are my favorite repeats to make in photoshop 🙌🏼. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it, but I’ll add it to my Notion video ideas database to make sure it does happen!

    Hi, Sarah, I am so glad I found your channel and your journey in pattern design business :) just like yourself I came across an instagram ad of Stacie Bloomfield and got interested in this 'adventure' a lot, what a coincidence right ? :)) thank you so much for this video, I can't believe that this is so easy with this pattern preview function, I watched in domestica a few courses where the tutors were showing how to build a rapport of pattern by placing the rulers (I think that's the right name) and I found that actually complicating, what you showed here in your video tutorial is a real GAME CHANGER!!! Thank you so much for doing this tutorial.

      WOOHOO that makes me so happy to hear!!! I was soooooo excited when I first learned about this technique, so I’m glad to know you’re feeling it too! Thank you for leaving such a kind comment. I’m cheering you on for your surface pattern design journey!

      @@pepostudios Thank you so much dear Sarah!!! I can imagine how relieved you felt when discovering this technique, because, today all day I was watching a couple of domestica courses and found quite complicated and way time consuming in terms of desiging the pattern and making it ready for exporting, and when I started searching in youtube and came across your wonderful video, I couldn;t believe my eyes, the universe had a mercy on me :) and made my journey easy :) you are so lovely, I subscribed to your instagram as well. You are amazing and well done for what you have done so far, wish you also all the best in your pattern design business journey❤

    Hello, do you still leave the watercolour texture in the file for textile POD, meaning what if people choose a linen fabric for your design, wouldn‘t the textures conflict with one another in the final product? Thanks!

    When you upload your designs on spoonflower, do you always include the watercolor paper textured background? I'm trying to decide if I want to include it on fabric and wallpaper or not.
    Interested in your opinion! I noticed on spoonflower you and Cat Coq include it sometimes, from what I can tell....?
    Thank you for answering if you have time! I tend to ask a lot here! I find your tutorials helpful. I'm taking Cat's class too : )

    • @pepostudios
      @pepostudios  8 месяцев назад +2

      I typically do include it, but to be honest sometimes it’s so subtle that it doesn’t show up much, especially on the smaller scale prints! I do have some large scale prints where the texture looks nice on the final fabric. I actually have a video where I show my first fill-a-yard, so you can see how the texture looks there! I’d say the paper texture definitely shows up better on the wallpaper. But I think on fabric, the fabric itself often provides some lovely texture, so even if it looks kind of boring in photoshop, you may end up loving the way it looks when printed!
