I'm becoming a jeans and t-shirt kid myself.
Plus cardigans... more cardigans than anything else!

There’s nothing more perfectly simple than a good jeans, T-shirt and cardigan combo. 👌🏼

I was trying to think of why this couldn’t work for a teen. Then I thought of the fact that it would be FOR A TEEN and that the teen is the hurdle, not the clothes. 😅 I guess it could be done if they were intrigued by the concept. But it has to be their idea or it’s not a good one. 🤣 I know that I would not have entertained limiting my wardrobe to 33 items at that age.

It’s funny but I’m very minimalist with my wardrobe. I mean about 15 items of clothing, but it never even occurred to me to do it for the kids too! Think we’ll have a sort this weekend! Love from the UK.😊

It never crossed my mind either… until now obviously haha. Maybe because kids transition in and out of clothes so quickly we don’t think its even an option. That’s my theory. 😅

I go back and forth between folding the kids' clothes and just chucking them in a drawer. I have a 4 and 1 year old, and they both get very involved in laundry 😅 I tend to fold things without thinking about it, but the kids just throw them in the drawer. The only real issue I came across with not folding is that I would find clothes stuck in the back behind the drawers. They both share a dresser, so the only real organization I have for them is that they each have a cold weather drawer and a warm weather drawer. The 4 year olds 3rd drawer has socks, underwear, and pjs, and the youngest one is a diaper drawer (for now).

I think that there’s something to going back and forth. You give yourself the grace to skip folding when you need to and fold when you want. At least that’s how I’m imagining it. 😅 I’m on board with not folding on the days when the laundry feels like too much, but folding it on the days that it feels like second nature. Its also good to hear it is indeed possible for siblings to share a dresser. That’s a hiccup I always have when I consider my boys sharing a room. Thank you for sharing your system! ☺️

My boys are 30 & 28. The biggest game changer when my kids were little was ditching the dresser. We bought a wardrobe for the younger one and yes, he tossed his clothes on the shelf. But the shirts were on the shirt shelf, the pants and sweats were on their shelf and the underwear and slinky shorts (what he wore for pjs) were on the other. He put away his clothes and then closed the doors. We built shelves in the older one’s closet and he did the same thing.

I’ve had to care less with my oldest now that he’s putting his clothes away. It’s a pile of shirts and jeans.. but they are at least in the spot they belong haha. I really like that idea of a wardrobe and/or closet shelves. It reminds me of how I organized my clothes when i was a teen. Shirts on my shelves in my closet with dresses and coats hanging. As a teen girl I never had minimal enough of a wardrobe to part with my dresser through. 😅 It seems like something we could seriously consider with our boys though. I just love my little guys dresser so much and will have to find a way to repurpose it somewhere in our house. 😅 Thank you for sharing the system that worked for you family! ☺️💕

I love all his little clothes!! So sweet! And we always said pjs or jammies to our kids when they were real little.
I cracked up at the 'girls jeans' though... and I am a folder... I can NOT just throw them in a drawer...goes against the grain somehow.

I'm with you on PJs and Jammies and folding laundry haha. I still haven't had the courage to just throw them in the drawer and I don't know if I ever will be able to. Even as I suggested the idea, my brain hasn't even thought of it as an option when clothes come out of the dryer. I only remember I considered it when I come back here and someone reminds me. 🤣 Thanks for watching. 💕😊

re: the pajama names issue....My son's are always pajamas (he's 45, so there's that). I call mine jammies (I'm still 12 at heart). I sometimes call my night gowns nighties. I wear those during the hot summer months. I guess that makes my little family of 2 rather formal-ish sounding...with the occasional fun/childish names/words just for a bit of levity.
Your video today was wonderfully soothing for me personally. It's been a rough couple weeks for me and I just wasn't up to commenting on last week's video (I went back and checked...yep, I'm that obsessive). My apologies on that. But, at least I got to see how many views you're getting now!! AWESOME!
On the technical side, your videos are consistently lovely. No real need for tech notes anymore. You are doing just great and I'm so very proud of you. 💖

I hope things have settled down for you. 💕 I did notice I didn’t see anything from you and was hoping everything was ok. If you ever need a break from watching or commenting I totally understand, just know I’m always sending all the good vibes and what not your way. 💕💕

Thank you for the inspiration! Im motivated to do this to my 10 year old daughter and 7 year old son, to make it easier for them to pick out clothes as well as make the laundry process easier.
