I personally didn’t like the excessive style of Scarface. I understand why it was necessary though - the film was meant to be an over-the-top, cocaine-fuelled tale of greed & excess. I did love Carlito’s Way, though. I also love Oliver Stone’s work too, especially Platoon & Born On The Fourth Of July. I may watch Tony Montana again to refresh my memory. Maybe the film had its desired affect on me because I detested Tony Montana.

The fact this movie received terrible reviews and also that when making Godfather, Pacino was constantly on the verge of being fired. To me speaks volumes of what an incredible and misunderstood actor genius Al is. He brought his unique style to the roles which to this day stand the test of time. My favorite actor of all time. This is an absolute classic. Al , your poster is and has been on the wall of every rapper's bedroom. The black community loves you for bringing this character to life. Just epic! Directing, Producing, clothing, the set and ohhh the dramatic music.... so excellent. Al Pacino, you are a beast. That accent...OMG

This interview shows that Pacino is truly a genius at play. His analysis and speech is so unique to the way he views his work and his duty to us as the audience. He takes it with such passion and meticulousness, yet the final product is a movie that can resonate with the simplest themes. Just like a genius would do, explaining science, music, art, etc.
It is incredible to hear HIS point of view on the character, and it makes such clear sense both as to why we almost feel familiar with a guy as foreign as Tony Montana as well as feel distant to him.
Al Pacino truly could not have played the character any better, nor anybody else in the history of the planet. A magnificent actor that goes much deeper than this movie’s gangster antics may seem at first glance.

I will say this till my last breath, there ain’t a damn human on this planet that can ever play Tony Montana the way he did. Al Pacino is a genius, he literally gave life to this character and blew the world away when everyone first saw it. No matter how many people try or be better Tony Montana (pacino) can never be topped or imitated. I don’t know how he does it. But every film he has ever done or does he’s so different because he makes the character come to life to a point where you start to believe that this character is real and it is him. It’s almost as if he forgets he’s al Pacino and steps into the body of whatever character he is playing and he just forgets who he is and turns into a different person. Not caring how he looks or what people think. He just becomes the character fully and makes the audience forget he’s Al. ❤️

wrong, he was jealous of his sisters womanhood allowing her to assimilate to the country and find a wellsuited partner she could relate to. he weaponised her innocence would only show her affection when she was vulnerable and rejected her or would tell her off when she expressed any form of confidence and independence. he didnt want her but wanted control her sexually. their mum was protective over gina and angry at tony because she knew this sort of manipulation could ruin her innocence and pervert her mental wellbeing. tony being the pig that he is couldn't deal with the humiliation he felt when gina desired his friend and destroyed her the only way he knew how-violence
