There was likely three house gods (idols) at a farm. Thor, Freia, Odin. Many more. The mix differed. Thor was always the rock star. Feed them blood every day, and pray.
@@johankaewberg8162 Fascinating insight! The concept of household gods is really interesting. Thor being the rock star makes sense, given his popularity. Did the daily blood offerings and prayers have specific rituals or significance?
@@MQReacts He hung himself from Yggdrasil and stared into the void for I guess 9 days (the number 9 keeps repeating) He received 18 spells. I like the “Every man will be his friend” spell. Every 7:th year at Uppsala (another prominent number) 7*7 horses, 7*7 men (several other species as well) strung from the branches of the sacrificial groves of Uppsala.
the thing about Odin is that he is kinda a big asshole for most of the myths he takes part in, from stalling Thor from going home while his wife cheats to straight up exploiting and seducing his way to getting whatever he wants.
Odin aren't seducing to get whatever he wants. He is a cunning adventurer who uses cunning to triumph over evil rather than brutal force and values knowledge. That's why I will always like him more than Thor.
Nice one sis, interesting ❤
Thank you sis ❤
All father the chief god in norse mythology.

@@MQReacts Basically you just poured a little pigs blood onto the idol and made a short prayer. Just to be on the right side of the gods.
@@johankaewberg8162 oh wow!! Interesting…
There is one spell I cannot reveal, or it loses its power.
But he can make anyone his friend!
@@johankaewberg8162 lol Intriguing! I see you’re adding to the mystique of Odin's mythology. 😀😀
Sight for insight. He hung himself for 18 spells.
@@johankaewberg8162 I love how you're diving deeper into Odin's story! Can you elaborate on the significance of hanging himself for 18 spells?

@@mikkelturtvig I didn't know much about Odin before this video, but it seems like his character is more complex than I expected.
