Great analysis Julian. I'm really curious about the effects on ecommerce. Looks like Google Shopping ads and Social Media marketing will become more important than ever.
I am thinking of learning seo to start freelance but this SGE move makes me question whether i should proceed or not. What would be your advice for someone who wants to learn and get into the business of doing seo for clients with regards to upcoming SGE?
Thanks! I'd recommend checking out my agency channel here - www.youtube.com/@JulianGoldieAgency/videos - teaches you everything you need to know to get started :)
Hi, Im completely New, Just opened my blog site 2 weeks ago, I write about everything related to AI. Do you think it'll be possible to get traffic? So far i've seen its too competitive!
What about the exponential growth from niche players? It seems we have lots of low authority websites working with topical authority strategies and they are simply dominating lots of themes. From my perspective, SGE is not a threat when you work with a more consistent content strategy. What do you think about it?
I think niche sites actually have the most potential to survive SGE. If you're trying to do affiliate marketing with mainstream content you're probably f*cked, but niche and micro-niche sites have some opportunity IMO.
I think ti's going to gget harder and harder. A lot of SEOs will probably quit but there'll be a lot of new opportunities that come along too. Just keep learning and adapting :) I'll share everything I learn openly too.
Thanks for the video. I have more than 200 affiliate micro niche sites in German-speaking countries since 2015. They all fall off, what can I do? Do you have any ideas? I can't do link building for 200 websites.
Hey Gulain! You said about user generated content, so now what about Ai content? Can we still use Ai to generate content if it is valuable? If yes Can you tell me the best ai to produce content but it should be free. Like chatGPT, gemini, bing etc.. I am reall confused related to it.

I search Google a lot, and rarely do I need to visit a webpage anymore. Other than specific sites like reddit, quora, amazon, etc. I am typically not going to visit some random site anymore as I don't need to. You can show up right under the AI text and I probably still won't visit your site unless you're offering something specific that I need. So even if SEOs optimize for SGE - expect a drop in traffic in the future. That's just my opinion after doing this since 2009. Most people will have better luck focusing on other sources of traffic. Besides, all the big brands are going to dominate. There's not enough room for everybody.
@@JulianGoldieSEO I mean no disrespect. In fact, I've been sharing your vid as it's helpful. I just think things are going in a bad direction right now for smaller websites and blogs.
any updates with your other sites that did not get affected by the update still growing and pushing out content on them or letting them sit ? no need to go into details :)
I think you and a lot of other SEO's are panicking for no reason. If this stays the way it is, where SGE is at the top, the first thing people see, it will kill the golden goose for Google. They make a large percentage of their money from ads. They always have. When they see their profits plummet because no one will pay for the possibility of being in the SGE results or elsewhere in the Google ecosystem. Just me 2 cents worth. Just think about it.
For me, I’m quite happy with it because RUclips SEO will rank so well. And also I’d rather focus on conversions not clicks. But just wanted to present how it looks, the stats and case studies so far etc. Important to present this early to people so they know how to adjust. Thanks.

Thanks! 100% - social media going to help with EEAT + traffic diversification too.
Doesn't one have to recover from HCU and the March update first?
In order to rank at all in SGE?
If you're not ranking after HCU + March update, low chance you'll rank in SGE
My site keywords were lost from search results after the March update. Now feeling a useless site, 5 yrs old site. @@JulianGoldieSEO
