The Helena giving birth scene is one of my all time favourite TV moments. Intercutting it with Sarah giving birth helped by Mrs S was a stroke of genius. And the look of pure love Helena gives Sarah at the end that scene!
Its a perfect moment. The flashbacks of S with Sarah...cut back to Sarah with Helena...I hate to keep using the word 'perfect' but it was. It was a perfect TV moment and honestly one of if not the best finales in any show I've seen. I was in tears watching it, editing it and rewatching this reaction of ME in tears watching it lol Just a great show...

Thanks, Mikara! I agree, this show I expected nothing from and was just given EVERYTHING! The characters- all played by one amazing actor, were so different and unique and the supporting cast made it that much better! Orphan Black Echoes still hasn't taken its place as rightful successor, but I think it may have a shot if it continues. Thank YOU for watching along with me!
What I love about one of the last scenes is how Sarah plays with Helena's hair, it says so much about love.
its the kind of action you do when you're just content and safe...and they finally were!
The BBQ scene was an acting and technical marvel, and so polished that you don't really even become concious that it's a four clone scene. There's a flickering fire, the four characters are bunched up on just two chairs, bits of paper are being passed between characters, Sarah is playing with Helena's hair etc. And all completely natural and relaxed.
ya that BTS is something I'll watch when I do all the extras and bloopers next week for sure! (I hope they did a BTS on that BBQ scene!)

I just finished my 4th rewatch of Orphan Black and I wanted to see if there were any reactions to the finale. I feel like I’ve found my community !! 😂 I don’t get emotional to fictional movies/shows but Helena’s birthing scene had choking EVERYTIME I’ve watched 😭 but Art’s crying face always makes me laugh then I kinda come back down. But seriously Orphan Black has to be one of the BEST shows ever, casting of the actors, storyline’s, writing of each season and an actually GOOD ending. So many intense shows struggle to create a good ending that actually makes sense. But Orphan Black start to finish is top tier 🤌🏽
NICE! OB:Echoes has made me want to start a rewatch of the series again, but I'm about halfway through One Piece, so I doubt I'll get to it for a while lol Oh you are so very welcome with the Sestras and brother Sestras! this has been the best and most welcoming community for any show I've watched so far! No toxicity, just a love for the show and for other fans OF the show!
I really don't know of any other show that was as consistently good as OB, I can't think of one episode I hated or was hard to get through, writing, acting, cinematography, ALL top tier and a finale to leave everybody happy. A show like OB is rare, but I'm glad we got it!
Remember the time when you wondered why we all love Helena? Thank you for taking us on this journey with you.
Remember when I thought the Orphan Black Fandom as a whole had lost their damn minds? She was killing clones! Trying to kill Sarah, HOW COULD YOU LIKE HER!?

So many wild character arcs that were all so believable and naturally occurring; I'm so glad this show was recommended and won its poll. Its been a crazy ride and now I get to go watch some others react to it! (I'm one of YOU now! lol)

Mrs S. 24:28 couldn't let Sarah know what she was up to because Sarah is a bulldog that just charges forward (great for pushing plot). Much like Delphine with Cosima who can't help but speak her mind even when it's better to keep quite. That's why S and Delphine work quietly together in the end.
that's true...and if a 6th season were to have happened, I could see Delphine taking over that S role. I wonder if we'll get any hints or passing remarks about the Sestras or past players in Echoes...
Just got very emotional rewatching this with you. What an epic ending. It's unique in the way that it doesn't end with the fight, but with Sarah's struggle to be still after the fight. It's her sisters who have to come to her aid now. I imagine like an army veteran who has seen combat. It's so beautiful the way Felix honours his 'galaxy of women' and Helena honours the men in her life. Will definitely join you for Echoes! Thanks Dusty. What a ride. What a show.
that line you wrote, 'with Sarah's struggle to be still'...didn't S tell her to be still at times as well? I think I remember that line, but I'm not sure...but it is true, she's been shaken and rattled that everything inside of her is still swishing and sloshing back and forth and it does take the grace and love of her sestras to calm her.
And I never thought of it like that! this show is very female lead and focused, but the show did also honor the men who helped them throughout by naming the miracle bebies after them...and also Donnie hahaha!!!
I can't wait for Echoes, still no release date, but I hope its soon!

I really enjoyed revisiting Orphan Black through your videos. Definitely one of my all time favorites. And some great all time characters. The ending is very satisfying and I’m glad they left enough time to have family time together. Great show!
If you’re looking for recommendations, here are a couple of shows that I would like to see more reaction videos for: The Magicians (starts off as a more adult Harry Potter meets Chronicles of Narnia but is definitely its own thing, with very complex characters.) 12 Monkeys (the series based on the film. So good!) There are already a lot of people who’ve reacted to Dark, but’s it’s an amazing show and I highly recommend it if you have seen it.

I have The Magicians on my list, its been recommended a few times, and you had me at Adult Harry Potter! lol I do remember that movie, (didn't it have Brad Pitt in it?) I added it! And I've been recommended Dark, but foreign shows I'd have to do in English, just because of how difficult it is to edit with tiny subtitles so usually people tell me not to bother lol
@@DFQreacts Oh wow, thanks for the info about FandomReactions. Yes, the film 12 Monkeys had both Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. As for Dark, I’m one of the rare people who watched the series with the dub. Reading the subtitles took away from what was happening on screen while watching, I still really enjoyed the show and was not put off by the dub if that helps :). Even if you don’t think it will be good for your channel, you should watch it for yourself. It’s truly an amazing show.

You nailed it so perfectly. I said to my mom when i recc'd it i said how this series does exactly what you want it to. it's not overly surprising on twists but they clearly had a vision and went for it and what you wanted to happen in the end happened and it was so great! Truly great series. You know it's great when they don't have to shock plot twist like ex: Killing Cosima. I was so terrified they'd kill her coz i didn't know how the showrunners are. They never tried subverting (in a bad way) by making decisions they know will upset people. You watched for the clones to be free and they didn't not free them in the name of realism or whatever. They just created a beautiful universe w an amazing story. They made you love the characters and care about them.
Not many shows go into production knowing how they want to start and finish it, but Orphan Black felt sure of itself throughout.
And right! Every season I was worried for Cosima, but it was clever that they dangled her illness throughout to keep us engaged, and only gave little hints here and there about a cure or her getting better. They knew we were hungry rabbits and they dangled that carrot perfectly! lol
I think it helped that the showrunner wasn't changed as frequently as other shows, it kept the show concise and with a specific narrative, not someone else jumping in and going, OOH Wouldn't it be cool if THIS happened, and then Killing Eve series 4 happens lol
But these characters will last with me for a long time.
I loved this finale so much. One of the best endings to a show I have ever seen. It also aired on my birthday, so that makes it even more special for me. I loved that all the fighting was wrapped up in the first ~15 minutes of the episode, so that we got to spend the rest with the sestras just living their lives. That scene of Helena giving birth to her twins with the flashbacks to S. holding Sarah's hand as she gave birth to Kira and the music was so beautiful! Just perfect! And I really appreciated that it didn't gloss over the fact that Sarah was still dealing with depression and self doubt. Seeing Rachel come through for the sestras one last time and further redeeming herself was also good to see, although a part of me wanted to see her come in and join the others, but I get why she didn't want to. And then that final montage of the four sestras living their lives in peace was just *chefs kiss*.
And one thing I noticed during rewatches over the years: The show starts with Sarah wanting to take Felix and Kira on the run, away from Siobhan and it ends with them leaving her house... Except now she has made amends with S. and doesn't have to run anymore and is beginning to learn how to be happy. A perfect bookend for this incredible show!

I agree, I don't think I've seen another ending where they wrap up the conflict halfway through and leave the last half to process the events of the entire series and wrap that up as well! There was an arc within an arc and it wasn't rushed at all! THIS is how a show should be greenlit, make sure the showrunners know how they're going to end it and THEN you say they can begin (lookin at you, GoT! lol)
Birthing scenes for me are usually boring, just screaming and loud noises, but OB was able to show Sarah with Helena as S was with Sarah and after JUST losing her, it made that scene all the more powerful!
Rachel shows that she IS rehabilitated and not just helping them for selfish reasons, I would have liked to see her walk in as well, but it leaves it open that maybe in the future they could put aside their differences...but that would be a long, long road.
From wanting to run away, to leaving, but knowing she'd be back...that she found her home, not only there, but with everyone in her life...this show was special and this ending solidifies that!

One of the most well-written and satisfying finales I've ever seen! I can't believe how quickly I binged this entire series. I started it by watching several youtubers' reactions after each episode and by season 3, you were the only one left lol. Thanks for sharing this with us. I can't remember any easter eggs that you may have missed that stand out, but I can tell you that when you said "filler episode" I mumbled under my breath "C'mon dude, not all character development results from eye shit." 💀
haha true, but eye shit does bring out character! Did I call the finale a filler!? I don't remember that (or why I would say that! lol) and when I say filler I don't mean it as an unnecessary addition, I always mean it as not exactly pushing the story to the next stage, it could be a side mission that leads up to something big, but I don't mean filler negatively! (as I like to say I watched all 500+ episodes of naruto, so Filler is my bread and butter! lol)
Are there really some reactors who stop watching after season 3? WHY!? lol If you haven't seen, a new OB reactor is Fandom Reactions, Bri is pretty early in, but that channel is a long running favorite for reactions, but I got her to do OB! lol

I have no idea what they will cover in the next show buuut.. topside is probably in damage control mode, so I wonder about them doing a Helsinki on Leda as a whole, bc if Ledas are aware the experiment is over basically. And anyway Kira's dna is what they will want bc she has the healing gene. I'm excited to see what story they do. I hope it's Trevor Yuile making the music again!

It IS easy to recommend because from the first episode it throws a train at you and it never really stops, some pilots are slow and not a lot happens, but Orphan Black just throws you into the fire! I've said it in a lot of other comments, but I really mean it, I think this was a PERFECT finale. Tears and a Happily Ever After...you can't ask for more!

This is such a good show, one of my favorites definitely, it deserves way more recognition. It's not perfect, it has its faults and everything but what in my opinion makes it amazing are the characters. 👌🏻
true, but what show doesn't? I think whenever the show made a hiccup, it got corrected pretty quickly, but YES! The characters, having each one so similar, yet so distinct was a masterwork in script writing! I hope some of the creatives for this are involved in Echoes!

I would love to see you react to the Amazon Prime show Hunters starring Al Pachino, which just had the second and final season drop last friday. Also a fantastic show that gets you invested and subverts expectations with twists and turns along the way, I could see you really really enjoying that show!
Ya, and not many shows get a Happily Ever After without it feeling forced. Orphan Black did it flawlessly and it felt deserved!

@@DFQreacts Exactly! I tend to prefer more sort of open endings, because they are usually more realistic in many ways, but OB did the happy ending really well, I totally agree.

Best birthing scene ever, by far. Best series finale ever. I always love your insights, but what you said about Helena wanting to give her children what she never had, that's one of my favourites. Thank you for covering this series. After the disappointment of Echoes (sorry) i needed to revisit the original series, and you've made it a fun recap.
haha no apologies needed. Echoes is an echo of the original. So far it hasn't captured the soul of the series, but I think given time it could. But I agree, it was so real and so emotional that it felt like we were in there with them and celebrating them living and beating the odds. I may have to go relive this series through another reactor at some point!

For me it was also tough that it ended, like with GoT and all good things that become part of your daily life end.
We were all glad that it happened on a happy note. One of the things that was a loose thread, was the disappearing of Cal; it looks like he just vanished into thin air, like the actor, my fellow countryman Michiel Huisman, did in GoT as Daario Naharis. The roles he played were in about the same years.

Ya, I can handle a show ending if it does it on a good note, THIS did it as perfect as it could be...GoT on the other hand....let's just hope they learned their lesson for HotD lol There is always that weird emptiness after a show that you've been with so long ends, its like zombie mode until you find a new fixation lol (hopefully The Good Place will help me move on once I start that!)
Ya, I wish they would've had him show up in the finale, or maybe just had Sarah say, we need to meet your dad at the beach when she's calling for Kira? It was just weird they introduce him as a semi-important character at the time, just to have him go on the run forever, even when DYAD died lol
But I always liked reading your theories and comments and hope you join us when Echoes comes out! (I know it won't be the same, but who knows, it could very well live up to its parent show!)

This is bittersweet. It is a great finale. It ends very well in terms of the story, and the rap up in the second half of this episode was great and much needed.
Rachel was a great villain. She is one of the most interesting villains on tv, imo. A great villain, with a great redemption. I feel like that is very rare to come by.
The bitter part is obviously the fact that it is the end of the series. It is over. Or at least as of when I first watched it.
There is still the audiobook/podcast (Orphan Black: The Next Chapter) that is worth checking out. And of course Echoes.

I honestly can't recall another show's finale that felt like a two parter like this. First half wrapping up the threat, second half giving us a MUCH needed and deserved Happily Ever After. It felt thoroughly planned and perfectly executed.
Her pull back and forth between blood and duty was so well done and never felt old. Her slight redemptions were earned and her falling back in line was expected, but always distressful.
I think I might start doing a live reaction/listen along for The Next Chapter on my Discord Sunday nights, maybe? I'll let everyone know on RUclips with a post before I do though. But Echoes WILL be on the channel without a poll needed! (I'd say same for that Killing Eve spinoff, but after that finale I doubt we'll see that happen lol)

@DFQ!? Reacts I have recommended other shows, and you have added them to your list, but I don't think they are on the same level of Orphan Black and The Good Place. They are still good in their own right and worth watching.
Idr if I have ever mentioned the show Psych, but I do highly recommend that as well. It is another favorite of mine, but the difference is that it might be more niche of a show. It is a police procedural with great characters and chemistry with the cast. Also, it is a comedy. A very good one.
It has 8 seasons and 3 movies, yet I don't think many people know about it.
To some people it is a bit of a slow burn at the beginning, but I think it is worth it. Although unlike other shows on your channel, there are no sci-fii or fantasy elements. The lead actor plays P.I. who claims to be a psychic and works with the local police.
Idk if this would be your thing or not. It is available on Prime Video.

I didn't know it had A movie lol I thin I stopped watching around season 4? The last thing I heard was they were doing a musical episode and I never got to it! I could put it on the list, but I wonder if it would be known enough now to get any votes. Now that I know theres so much I may just finish it myself, they really did 3 movies?
(btw did you ever see a pineapple in the episodes? I heard they always hid one, even had a competition one episode i think, but aside from the obvious ones on screen, I could never spot the hidden pineapple!)

The 3 movies are on Peacock not prime video. They take place after the series. So probably better to finish the series first.
Yeah, some of the pineapples were pretty well hidden. Sometimes an actual pineapple on set. Shawn's dad had a shirt with pineapples all over it at one point. Sometimes, it was a flavor or ingredient for a food. It was also just apart of the script sometimes. But there was one in every episode, in one form or another.
I definately didn't find them all, but I do have a t-shirt with a pineapple on it that says "I've heard it both ways." One of the running gags of the show.
As for your poll. I think it would get votes, but I'm unsure if it could pull ahead of others. It's possible. It does have a following. How else could it have 8 seasons and 3 movies. And there might be a 4th one coming. Unconfirmed.

And I guess I got to season 5 when I watched it because I remember hearing the next season would have that musical, so I guess I'm further along that I thought!
If my PC were faster I would definitely do more things like that, but as it is, it takes about 3 hours to watch, edit (even slightly) and render. The rendering is where all the time goes, its like 40 minutes or so before I can even start uploading it, but luckily my internet can handle 3 uploads at a time (THAT just takes 2-5 hours depending on the size of the file lol) So once I upgrade my rig I can hopefully get more done faster!

These reactions have been great!! I loved this one too and agree with everything you said- I thought the slowing down and living with the characters after the climax was a great choice. Tatiana is fantastic. Sarah is probably my favorite. Though Rachel might have my favorite (small) moment in the episode, when she glances towards the house after Felix leaves. Great stuff. I'm glad the next show is something I've watched, most contenders I had not!
Rachel really was pulled by both sides throughout...if she just let herself go with her Sestras, things may have been much happier (and less gory) for her...but we all make our choices and hers lead her to being alive, but alone. There's definitely a lesson in there. That longing showed she understood that, too!
I hope we have fun with The Good Place and Wednesday, I know what Wednesday's all about, but I don't know anything about TGP!

As to Helena having a boy, it is the sperm that determines the gender (so Henry VIII got nowhere by killing his wives, blaming them for not having a son). So the sperm they used (whatever that religious creep's name was) to fertilize her oocytes determined it.
And very good question why Cosima needed the shot to the uterus while everyone else gets it in the arm. The only explanation I can think of is maybe because she already had tumors they needed a more direct treatment...? Not convinced, but I'll take it.

But I had NO clue what this show was going in, but each episode surprised me and kept me wanting to come back for more. Sometimes its a slog to edit videos, but I always looked forward to editing OB. It felt comfortable, and that's what this show is to so many: Comfort.
@@DFQreacts Its amazing how Tatiana is able to have different ticks and mannerisms to differentiate each clone. A lot of times forget each clone is all her.😂 Specially when each clone is pretending to be another along with a hint of that clone mannerism seeping in.

I've really enjoyed your reactions to this series, it's among my favorites. Because you are enjoying the wacky weirdness of Misfits I have a replacement suggestion for Orphan Black. The Almighty Johnsons (3 seasons - 36 episodes) is a New Zealand series with a weird and original story tied to Norse immigrants that settled in New Zealand in the 1800's. I first saw the series on Netflix Canada and watched it twice there but they didn't renew their rights to it. Recently I noticed it was on Amazon Prime in Canada and watched it for a third time. Basically it's Norse gods took human form when Christianity took over in Norway and fled to New Zealand. They became separated and are doomed to keep reincarnating in human form until Odon finds and re-marries his wife Frigg. Each has a power related to the god they are re-incarnated from but won't get their full god powers until Odon marries Frigg again. It's every bit as entertaining as Misfits.

Helena got impregnated at the end of Season 2. So the final 3 season would have taken place in roughly 9 months. The whole show has been estimated to be maybe a year and a half.

I think this finale gives us as the audience that time. wraps up the danger early and we're left with the family, and slowly let go. It has brought in so many subscribers, but more importantly people like you who I've looked forward to talking to every Friday! I agree, so many people have said so many wonderful things about it, but the only word that describes it is: Perfect.
I hope we have some lighthearted fun with The Good Place and hopefully we can get to Warrior Nun or Queen's Gambit soon!

I gravitate to shows that make you think, and of course first-class acting and character development are a must, as is kickass action or well-developed drama. Ok I'm a little late but I'm here! What trip! As I said before, I'm not that big of a fan of the show, I mean I've only seen it once and then with the reactions. But here I am, crying with you. Because yeah, I wouldn't say everything was perfect but it's definitely a great series with a beautiful ending and completely up to the task. And as you say, nothing feels forced, on the contrary, everything feels very natural, I loved it! It hurts to remember Killing Eve 💔 because it was a much more important show for me, but this was exactly what we asked for, not even anything extraordinary, just a decent ending, but well... This is a clear example of a great show, with characters endearing and with writers who really do their work with respect and love, good for them! And I will always remember Tatiana's talent, even if she speaks terrible spanish, I love her anyway haha.

THAT is what a good series can do, even if its not your favorite, it just makes you feel those emotions with well written and empathetic characters!
It felt strange to have a Happily Ever After, very few deaths, but all the escapes and saves, again, felt natural and hard fought. But I like that a show can give a HEA and not make it sappy, but victorious. And I think that is where Orphan Black excelled!
Killing Who now? I seem to have an 8 hour chunk of time missing from my memory lol Looking back and comparing these two shows now, I think the biggest issue was Killing Eve had people pulling the show in different directions while Orphan Black felt very focused in what it wanted to do.

@@DFQreacts Yeah, I don't know about the OB writers but I'm assuming they didn't change much through the seasons or had a very clear vision that was shared between them, but that's definitely a clear difference between the two shows.
And yes, I know spanish can be hard, although I think Jodie did pretty well in S3. Anyway, as you say, Jodie and Tatiana are on another level, just acting goddesses ❤️

Ya, but I liked how they made that little arc to bring everyone together and to rally behind her one last time. It wasn't life threatening, it was just life. Do people actually fake their reactions? How would they keep that up for an hour at a time, lik 50 times in a row!? lol That's why i have a rule, I haven't had to enact yet, that I will give anything at least 1 season, although if its REALLY bad, at least half. Hey Dusty, I finally finished Orphan Black! What a great series! The ending had everything that Killing Eve couldn't provide: the right heroic kind of death (I was scared when Helena almost died though), closing the main plots and our protagonists happy.
I know you think Cosima is cool, but Helena is the best! And Alisson is the one Tatiana show her talent. When I see the interviews I was think "why didn't they bring the actress who plays Alisson?" I always forget that it was still her.
It was great so see your reactions again. I hope to follow your reactions in another show soon. Are you watching Yellowjackets? I think it is your kind of show.

About time! haha I agree! KE had the ingredients to make a spectacular finale, but the showrunner seemed to not care about that, but with OB it felt like they knew how and where they wanted each character. There was a brief moment where I was bummed everybody survived (minus S lol), just because of the danger they had to go through, but they earned their happily ever after! I actually might like Helena more now just based on her story arc and how her story finished, but Cosima really helped me get into the show in the beginning!
And I bet Tatiana will be remembered as the sestras no matter how big her career gets (and I do hope she has a long career!) Its on the list, but I haven't seen it yet, Margo from the discord really liked it though, so I'm hoping it'll win at one point!

I've had that recommended to me a few times, but it has the same issue that Squid Game had: subtitles.
My edit window is tiny and having to read the subtitles to put the edit together killed my eyes when I tried for Haikyuu!! (I didn't end up finishing the reaction because of it) and usually people don't like the English dubs, BUT if it won a poll for the English dub, I'd give it a shot, but the poll for Squid Game was just to watch it by myself because of the English voiceover lol
