Dear All,
I recently turned 56 and it also marked 35+ years as a performing artist in the field of devotional and light music. As I reflect back upon this wonderful* journey I feel there is a greater need today for artists like me to come forward and do our bit to preserve the rich traditions of music and our culture specifically when it comes to bhajans, keerthans, dasarapadas, santhavani etc.
Bhajans at home, led by elders, where every evening all family members would come together singing the praise of the Lord, was an integral part of growing up as children. The indirect contribution of this daily spiritual act towards shaping up the moral fabric of a society needs no debate. Sadly this is slowly but surely going away where our younger generations are busy with the advent of gadgets and many other western influences that are highly detrimental to our cultural values.
As a small effort from my end towards reviving this situation, going forward I offer my services as a singer at everyones doorsteps.
So what does this mean?
Anyone from the general public, YES! Anyone who shares the same concerns can call upon me. I will be at your doorsteps and will render a bhajan seva at your house along with Accompainments and the audio equipments that I will personally arrange for. I will humbly accept whatever you offer only to take this vision forward. My only other request from you is to get together as a family and also get your neighbors and friends together. We will all jointly sing the praise of the Lord!!!!!
The great dasa's and saints of the past went door to door propogating their teachings for the benefit of the society - this is the least I feel I can do as an individual. This is a "Bhajan Yatra" I am embarking upon and the vision is "Mane Maneyalli Bhajane, Mana Manadalli Bhajane"!!!
