It absolutely amazes me how many mega bands came out of that little island called BRITAN
Small in land...More people live there then Canada and Australia combined.
@@davehoward22In the 60's ???
The UK has an advantage in being a small country with a behemoth to conquer. Our (successful) colonial past gives us an advantage, the French don't have giant mega France to conquer.
I say lets enjoy our bands no matter where they originate from.
look at the map of England. Such a small county who manage to Colonised half of the world.

British are the best musicians of the Universe. Word of honor of a spanish lady. ☺❤❤❤🇬🇧
Led Zeppelin
I didn't expect to heard about Taio Cruz in here. Also you forgot to mention Iron Maiden
British artist rule the charts due in fact to their ability to change their apperance and their willingness to adopt a different persona. (Check out David Bowie) Due in part to their idea to change what their critic thought the band was successful. Pink Floyd, David Bowie, the Who and other acts expanded their musical abilities and their ability to appeal to the masses. Check out the sound of Savoy Brown, Bad Company, ect. Remember Fleetwood Mac was actually founded by a drummer, a bass play, and a guitarist from the UK. America answered with the Beach Boys.(a very underrated band). Music will always survive the turmoil of the world. In music you can always find an artist you can relate to. Somebody who touches your soul and heart. Keep listening people. Soon you'll find the one artist or band who is what you were looking for.
they ruled coz they were kings; they didn't change anything about themselves for anyone they just rocked and the success followed.
No Iron Maiden or Judas Priest? Sacrilege!
I'd like to see a concise review of The Yardbirds, THEM, The Who, and The Kinks.
The Americas may have Elvis, Motown and Buddy Holly. But without we Brits. Who knows direction music would have went. The Beatles changed the whole shape of music and those UK artists that followed expanded it. The Stones,Pink Floyd , The BeeGees, The Kinks, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Elton John. Plus countless others from Great Britain. Go Google it. Why id be typing forever if I were to name evey British recording artists. British influence cannot be denied.
Music history started long way back before 1900s.
Def lepard too and whitesnake
Deep Purple was pre NWOBHM. Some things were a little off with this documentary.
Yep..they formed in the 1960s
lets not forget Oasis and the stone roses
Nirvana have more impact in uk than oasis in us.
@@kchmyy after 1 year i can probably agree with that
@@unitedpundit7023 stone roses, radiohead and U2 more popular in us then oasis. Even blur is popular than oasis.
@@kchmyy there is absolutely no chance that the stone roses are more popular in the US. You really think more people on the streets in the US would recognise songs from the stone roses over songs like Wonderwall or DLBIA.
@@unitedpundit7023 lol. U know nothing about music scene in usa. Stone roses exist since 1983. Oasis only exist in usa in early 90s.
Beatles are the best
peter papadimitriou early in career they where just a boy band to a bunch of screaming girls . Later they got better . Try listening to the Pretty Things !

George is cool. I want George. Such a loving animal. I wouldd rather have George than some people I've met !!!##
Mostly England.
Not bad, but if you are doing a history lesson and omit bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and The Who, you haven't really done your homework properly, have you...?
Small faces as well.
Bro it's a 7 minute video, the whole list of greatest bands Britain has produced would not fit into this format
@@Vasily_dont_be_silly
Agreed 👍, so maybe a title change is in order..?
to be honest its English Folk
I'd like you to cover Music from the music from 80s country!
They listened to Black music more than the white kids IN America, who were too busy being bigots because their parents told them to. But let's not kid ourselves, without their need to imitate Black American artists in just about every genre that has come along in the past 100 years, there is no British rock. Period. And that includes The Beatles.
You sound slightly bigoted yourself, just saying.
@@wildbill8175 Telling you the truth. Just sayin'.
There’s no any black singers kind of Little Richard also.Ok ??? All this genres’re here and alive until today great thanks to white especially British people. Don’t forget.
There is British rock and no black american could compete with it, go cry somewhere else. they got beaten at their own game
Name any black us act who sound like pink Floyd or made an album like Sgt pepper?
Only in the 70s, and still not better than American bands at the time aside from popularity. America outperformed Great Britain at rock music every other decade like in the 50s, 60s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, ...etc.
No. Just noooo
@@mrdarren1045 mhm.
Beatles, kinks, zeppelin, pink Floyd, who, rolling stones, deep purple, black Sabbath, etc,etc all formed in the 60s,and British rock ruled the 70s, indie and electronic bands, indie the 80s..Britain's allways had the bigger bands, usa the bigger singers (elvis,m Jackson, madonna etc)
As for outperforming them
Beatles
Stones
Zepplin
Pink Floyd
Queen
Name 5 us rock bands who collectively come anywhere near their sales. (And that's just 5)
Small faces, led zeppelin... and already Britain wins. And I could go on forever.
