J hooks r fun to strike but once i had a really good take and wen i striked too hard, the fish didn't get hooked so that wasn't fun XD haha really prefer the circle hooks more
Circle hooks work best for fish that takes the bait and swims away.Fish like the smaller shad in the vid are pecker alike.And thus by using a dingle dangle the chances are slim to get a hookup with pecker alike fish.I have founded if you use smaller 2/0 circle you tend to get better hookups on shad. Some reasons If the fish flattens you and no hookup: 1:Hook is too big or too small 2:you jerked the rod 3:some brand circles works better than others 4:hook gape is too close For the blue shad I only use circles.
