Finding the perfect mobile carrier isn’t easy and that’s probably because none of them truly perfect. During this past year, I’ve continued switching and testing many of the top carriers in my area. Now, after several missed calls and headaches, I think I found the best carrier for me.

Thanks after watching your video i call Tmobile and tell em hey i only got 1-2 bars in my house and they send me one for free Thanks T-Mobile
That's awesome, glad it helped!!!
Thanks
Hamid what do you mean what did they send you
They sent me one as well to install at my workplace within days of starting a new service, and even deducted the $25 from my the deposit i already had to start service. I switched from Verizon which was horrible. I was constantly being throttled on bandwidth i paid way too much for. Every month they'd basically force me to change plans with shady pricing schemes and once i finally decided to just try unlimited, they pulled support from it in my area and many other rural areas where people are most likely to depend on the service, as there are no other alternatives.
So far i've had Tmo for almost a year on the full unlimited plan. I'm a heavy user, 1-200gb/mo and i rarely experience slowdowns. I get throttled when network traffic is heavy, but that's uncommon and only happens when there are big holiday events or festivals that draw thousands of people to the area. I'm also on the border, close enough that i only get Mexico cell service when i'm on the south side of the mountains but with Tmo i've got unlimited int'l roaming and 4g.
The only downside is the terrain in my area makes service VERY spotty, but as i said above. i've got the 4g modem at work and at home i get good signal as i'm on top of the mountain.
And it's still way cheaper than i was spending with verizon for 20gb/mo.
TechnoBuffalo I have the same cellspot version 2
Switching from Sprint to T-MOBILE was the best for me.
ANYTHING is better than Sprint... Even Metro PCS
Metro pcs is T-Mobile...
Metro PC's is T Mobile's budget carrier
Sprint is T-mobile
Jaime Flores the merger happened recently. Not two yrs ago when I switched.
Been with T Mobile for 12+ years, haven't looked back!
T-Mobiles been great for the last 3 or 4 years. Hella helped my broke friends and I in college lmao
Did college help you're grammar...
NO 😂🤣😂
You better go back to high school

I left Sprint after 14 years and went to T-Mobile and absolutely love it.
Verizon: Great, but expensive
At&t: Ok at best
TMobile: Best overall
Sprint: HAHAHAHA
*Verizon: expensive because it's the best
Matthew Sousa Yeah because Sprint is COMPLETE GARBAGE
Chanse Ormon yea sprint is dumpster juice in a hot summer day
Matt- Your comment has helped me decide who to switch too. I currenlty have Sprint and HATE THEM. TMobile it will be
I’m about to switch from sprint to Verizon. Sprint is THEE worst service ever.
My Family has been on T-Mobile for 10 years now! And they love it!
Joeseph Hossain Same we have T-Mobile for 10 years and we are happy with their service
Me too..10 years and going strong
If you have no service you can still call 911 most times because it will ping another tower from any cell phone company so it’s always worth it to try to call even if your phones at no service.
I also have the Tmobile tower and it does work perfectly. I had to give them a $25 deposit as well.
T-mobile has to do stuff like that man to get and keep customers. Like a fat dude with money with a pretty girlfriend, the money does she goes
I just started working to T-Mobile and there entire philosophy about how they treat customers is incredible. Like even though I work there now I really do mean it they actually care about their customers
No they don't I used to be one for 7 years, chick fil a, cares for their customers because their at the top and they still treat the customers like gold. But T-mobile treat their customers good and gives them free stuff because there service is not as good as Verizon or AT&T so they have to basically buy their customers with iPhones and stuff rather than letting their cell service bring in customers like Verizon and AT&T does and u know it.
T-mobile is hands down the best out there. A lot of incentives and flexibility, plus the coverage is reliable.
Coverage is only half the story. I had coverage when I was on T-Mobile, but the data speeds were awful. I couldn't stream video or anything. I had to switch to Verizon, which is more reliable and faster in my area.
If you travel T-mobile sux in rural areas ! & let's face it if it don't work in a Bad area what good is it ? Verizon is king when traveling
Adam Newman eh, it's alright. It's not that great in the South, especially South Carolina.
Lol no
T mobile has everything but coverage
Sixtus coverage is reliable? Speak for yourself
I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile 4yrs ago, im grandfathered into their last good plan (simple choice plan).......it was the best choice I've made as far as cell phones go
T mobile Tuesday that's why
Rigo Jr TT unfortunately is not as great as it used to be.
Sixtus sometimes I get 3 dollars at starbucks
I feel like it has been lacking lately
Gatta get that towel that's always ran out of stock!
The redbox deal is awesome
Dude t mobiles customer service is THE BEST. Always helpful over the phone. I’ve never had such nice helpful people over the phone.
I like how Sprint was mentioned for all of 2 seconds...
True, Sprint is hot garbage.
Seriously. The guys at my work with Sprint almost never get coverage and even in a full strong signal they were stupid slow
Sprint is absolute garbage. Fucking trash. I hope they fucking die.
My buddy works for sprint and his main phone is T-Mobile lol... he tells me almost no one in the office has sprint themselves 😂
Tmobile just bought sprint.
Seriously I'm really not trying to be a jerk but a couple of years ago your videos were must watch. All of them. Now very few are of an interesting topic and Jon you're doing fewer videos than ever (personally...not the channel as a whole). I don't believe that you just stopped caring and you obviously are talented, so I hope you guys come back strong.
Agreed
Hate to say it, but agreed
Bring back Ashley
Couldn’t agree more!
Very true. Used to really look forward to his videos.
T-Mobile pay my mortgage and I’ll switch to you. 🔥😂🤣✌️
T-Mobile will pay for your “phone mortgage” lol they call it “carrier freedom”
I'm 13 years on T-Mobile, no better service as a whole in NYC IMHO. They have great plans, a decent (if not the best) selection of phones on contract, and they also have excellent customer service....just a great company to do business with 👍
Verizon hands down has the best coverage, but once you go anywhere that has a lot of people in it, it becomes almost unusuably slow. Even small events that may add an extra 100 people to an area seem to cripple my speeds.
I've been a T-Mobile customer since 2001. However, I was briefly with AT&T between 2011-2013 because I signed a two-year contract for a new smartphone (Samsung Galaxy SII with Gingerbread at the time) and I felt like I was getting screwed somehow. I didn't like the service at all. As soon as my contract was done, I switched back to T-Mobile, where I feel like a human being again.
It's cool you're going back to school! I'm going to be starting my 3rd year of college next month. Currently pursuing my AA, I'm majoring in Computer Engineering. Extremely difficult... But worth it 🙏
I was on a T-Mobile Unlimited One Plan for 18 months. Cost me $81 because $25 extra for the S7 edge and then $13+ bill credits for my first Pixel. Now I'm on their *$40* prepaid plan with 10GB data. Best bargain.
I live in MN so I have AT&T apparently the best coverage in MN. Also, it seems whenever I go on a road trip Verizon and AT&T have the best service meanwhile T-Mobile dropped a lot in long road trips.
Ross MK nice s1000rr
I had Sprint. When I moved to rural WY they had no service in the ENTIRE state. I switched to Verizon and it's been great! Great customer service, reliable network, and rarely fall out of service.
T-Mobile is the best and a very smart business. Thanks for this video.
Edit; typo
I went with T-Mobile back when the Nexus 5 was a new phone. Been nothing but happy with them since then.
Thumbs up for Jon making phone calls!
I am with T-Mobile now! They are alright. Verizon & AT&T was decent as well. I actually liked having an old school house phone, but the telemarketing calls were too much.
I switched to the senior plan 2 lines of unlimited for 70 bucks lol. Not even close to the age requirement
Lol it used to be 60 for two.
How can I do this too ? Lmfao
Me too!! 😄 Except I only pay 60 for two lines. Ducks no Netflix but I pay $30 a month for unlimited at the end of the day, so I can't complain.
@@JustDavidOnline I know, sucks but I got in the week after they switched the rate lol
I thought your picture profile was an eyelash on my screen
Almost all of my family except my dad, haven’t used a phone with a carrier for more than 5 years. We only use a landline phone to use it from Verizon. Now, since that times changed, all of my family owned a single phone with a carrier, including me. Only that my dad own a carrier from boost mobile. My uncle, my aunt, and my cousin use MetroPCS. Only that my grandma owns a carrier from Mexico that it’s still connected to a carrier service Mexico, even though that my grandma lives in USA temporarily. The rest of my family owns a carrier from T-Mobile. It’s a complicated story because my family are having a difficult time when earning money.
Glad it worked out for you. Don’t want to say I told you say but.....haha
One thing that was not brought in your video. You can purchase universal cell extender that will rebroadcast any carrier's outside signal inside your home. This can be useful for people who have strong signal outside but weak or no signal inside. But they are typically more expensive than carriers' home cells that use broadband connections.
I'm a fan of the rifs!
Coming back!
What I love about T-mobile is that when I travel to Europe I don't have to pay for texting or wifi because it's part of my service. My friends have to pay extra for a travel plan.
Carriers on specific on the location you are in. I will say this Sprint is worse out of all.
Been with T-Mobile since Windows Phone was a thing. Ah, the good ol' T-Mobile Shadow. The struggles were real. Now, I have absolutely no issues whatsoever. There used to be a big deadzone in my house that was a few hundred square feet large 5 years ago. I also had no idea you could actually buy a cell extender.
Depends where u live or go. each suck at some point you just gotta have luck 🤷🏽♂️
I use to have virgin mobile which use sprint network and hated it, unreliable network would have problems every other month, bad coverage in large buildings, and terrible rural coverage. Now im on Verizon wireless postpaid plan and love it. Rarely any network problems.
Why u blinking so often
Useless i noticed that lmao.
It’s probably because of the good lighting. It’s why news anchors blink a bunch too.
He forgot to change his blinker fluid
Useless I believe he’s said he has insomnia.
when i do big lies i blink a lot? Could he be lying? idk
I've worked in the cell phone industry for a few years now and worked for all majors carriers including T-mobile, it's 2018 all carriers are relatively great. It's just a matter of which one gives you better service in your home and daily routes. They all just want your money and will say whatever it takes to get you to switch... trust me on that.
T-Mobile works perfect for me. So glad I switched from Verizon. Saving money as well.
I was with Sprint since 2003, no probs. When the Stylo 4 was offered from MetroPCS I bought the phone for $30 dollars. Great service.
It all depends where u live nuff said
I have also used every carrier in the US about twice over the past 15 years or so. From my experience, all of them have their strengths and weaknesses. I switched from Verizon and stuck with T-Mobile. I think T-Mobile brings the most value for your dollar. The cell phone carriers change so rapidly its actually crazy. T-Mobile ten years ago was horrible. Today it costs a lot less than ATT or Verizon and is pretty solid.
I’ve had em all also including US Cellular and your corrrect T-Mobile has came a LONG way I’m sticking with T-Mobile!!
The cell phone situation in the rest of the world (nearly anywhere outside North America) is phenomenally better. I have never, not once, been upset with my carrier or coverage since leaving the US. Not in Europe, not in Asia. I went back to the US for a short while, and I was instantly pissed off at my carrier and service the ENTIRE time I was in the US. I left the US again and, shocker, I have never been disappointed with either, again.
Hell's favorite angel Mike saying “goodbye” to people who didn’t even know you were there? That’s cute.
Skyler King and how big are these European and Asian countries? What's the population? And the cost to implement a network?
@@attomicchicken Major cities are usually better with cell phones.
What about other aspects of the carriers? Like customer service and perks? Those are among the reasons why I've stayed with T-Mobile, even while I was working for AT&T.
So how will this effect sprint users after the merger, if it is even still happening? Will sprint begin having the same exact signal/service as t-mobile?
jack p yup. And TMobile will benefit from Sprints super fast band 41
Basically, if the merger goes through...T-Mobile will slowly transition Sprint users onto the T-Mobile network while also incorporating Sprints LTE into the T-mobile network. Eventually, once everyone is off of Sprints CDMA network, they're going to shut down that network.
I have sprint and it’s almost like not having a cell phone. I have no service almost everywhere. Have you heard any news on a timeframe? I couldn’t find anything on google
jack p end of next year. But roaming agreements are already in place of you have an Android device.
Hell's favorite angel Mike on roaming?
I don't have any loyalty, but of the 4 major carriers, my best experience has been with TMO. I am currently using Project Fi to save money, which switches between TMO and Sprint. Honestly, I really wish I could keep it from auto-switching and just stay on TMO towers, as they always seem to work well.
Fi switch I think is an app to pick what network it uses.
set the speed at 1.5, save time and you wouldn't even know it was faster. you are welcome.
Ive been with T-Mobile for some time and they’ve been great so far. It works internationally so I’m set.
Bro, you need eyedrops cause you blink like 3-4 times a second.
I live in Puerto Rico and T-Mobile works almost everywhere. It's great and it's alot more affordable for 3 unlimited lines than the other carriers.
Well Sprint is moving to T-Mobile...
Which is why I’m happy with T-Mobile.
but I like Verizon too
Pfft. Where?
My parents, and in turn, myself, have been with T-Mobile since 2008 after having a terrible Customer Service experience with a Sprint representative. We, as a unit have never had any with T-Mobile's service
I switched to
First:T-Mobile
Second: AT&T
Third:Sprint
Now:Verizon
Just shut up 🤐 I choose ok stop trying to make me switch
124 Scammer Same Verizon’s good
Yeah it’s a very big company like
Verizon,Sprint,AT&T,T-Mobile
and blah blah blah are big so any of them are good Carriers but just expensive
@NPC #2578478 Not unless they're all prepaid. The only post paid I ever had was Verizon. The rest was prepaid.
@@SteezyyGuapo Version is to expansion l was with them for 20 years now with Sprint they raised bill after my lease ends
Traveling with t-mobile to other countries is the biggest benefit. No extra charges for international data usage.
B roll! Bull!
this goes to show that no matter the camera, resolution display, plus size or mini compact, colors, etc., if you cant make a phone call, whats the point to a phone and your carrier? crazy how these phone companies are. im glad your problem was fixed
What is the best 4G/LTE carrier for California? I will be visiting there and want to have the best coverage and fastest internet available.
phillip baranouski LA, Vegas, Frisco and San Diego.
I lived in / traveled to all those areas with Verizon and never had any issues. Hard to beat Verizon's coverage in the states.
Patrick Ellis ok then 10GB for $100 is quite cheap
D T-Mobile is like 75 for unlimited everything
Ammon Zambrana it doesn’t have the same coverage it only uses partial of there towers that’s why it’s prepaid
If you have TMobile, you shouldn't need an extender since you can use wifi calling. Their wifi calling works really good. I work in a school system at a few of the elementary schools I work in, I get absolutely no service with TMobile. But I can put my phone in airplane mode, connect to wifi, and boom wifi calling.
We might change from T-Mobile to Verizon because T-Mobile where I live sucks
Why If you don’t have good service switch carriers, remember that you don’t have to be loyal to any company
Switch. Carriers don't care about your loyalty. Switch to what works.
be careful with the phone switching. chances are verizon wont let you bring if, if they do it probably won't work.
if its not apple/pixel or samsung/LG, they probably dont support it.
and if its not top of the line they definitely dont, unless you buy it from them
@@bradhaines3142 I was dealing with the same thing. Switch 2 Verizon thinking it'll be better but they said if I want better internet I would have to buy the phone fro. Them so I switched back within a day
It’s also the type of plan you are on, their latest plan has a lot more coverage and faster speeds than compared to their older plans
I switched to TMobile from ATT a couple of years ago and I'm amazed how good the signal have gotten since then, love TMobile.
Nice video!!
I switched in 2013 to T-Mobile from AT&T and haven't looked back. I pay $97 now, and before when I was on contract with AT&T I was paying $182...service has been pretty good for me, but it's really good in general in the south anyway so.
Have had ATT, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Sprint and T-Mobile were absolute trash. ATT has been great so far!
nickweg1996 ive heard too many nightmares of their customer service
Depends where u live for each carrier.
They been great for me too . I love at&t no issues what so ever ! I have fast internet w.e i go and perfect calls also
I've had Verizon, tmo and Sprint. Never had att. They don't work well here. Wasn't even available in my old state
How much you pay at AT&T ? I'm paying $300 for 3 lines for the last 20 years I think it's time for me to switch from AT&T
Switched from T-Mobile to Verizon after 5 years... then from Verizon to AT&T in Less then one Month and everything works fine for me :)
Verizon is the best! I don’t mind paying more for the consistency... I never lose service.
I paid over $300 on Verizon for myself, now I pay less than $200 for 5 phone lines and 1 tablet line with devices to pay for... Much much better...
Thank you for the tip, i will consider switching from ATT to Tmobile once my plan is up.
I am currently paying off 2 iphone 7plus and is getting 3GB for a 2 lines for $134 per month, soon it will go to $84 per month at the end of my contract.
I agree as I have heard that other carriers like sprint and att don't have service in some place.
I went Sprint, Cingular, AT&T, Boost, T-mobile, Verizon, T-Mobile. Magenta for life!
Enjoyed the video except the plug of Phoenix part
I was used Verizon for 2 years paid like 80 a month for 4G LTE, and I couldn't even stream RUclips on 720p, the best I could get was 480p. I switched to T-mobile about 2 months ago, I can now stream on 720p60fps and 1080p. They paid the remaining balance of my phone contract, plus gave me a new phone for free. I stayed with my Verizon Galaxy note 8, and was still able to switch. So far after trying 3 other service providers (boost mobile, simple mobile and Verizon) I can say T-mobile is the best so far, both in coverage and price.
Wait so you get an expensive cell tower.. to plug into your router... which means your service is now using your home's internet, which you pay for, but they also charge you with their data charges ON TOP cause it's technically LTE? That sounds shit, if I understand it correctly lol. They charge you for a cell tower to be able to charge you data charges for using your own home's internet xD?
No data cap and I can make phone calls. I’m cool.
That's nice if that's the case. My data is limited on an ATT plan, so I cry on the daily, even though I am fortunate with my signal strengh. I'm sure it's nice for calls though :O glad it works for you.
You could use VoWiFi
I was thinking the same thing. On top of all this, I have a reliable wireless router and my 2 year old iPhone 7+ can connect to my WiFi and I get Verizon service over WiFi. @technobuffalo was that not an option when you had Verizon?
It's in his house. Where he already has WiFi... Won't really be using data.
One of the things that drives me nuts about these mini micro towers. They have to piggy back on your internet connection and the providers still feel they can charge your for the service while using the micro cell tower.
At&t
If carriers would have evenly added towers through out the USA instead of just adding towers on random locations we probably wouldn't be talking about cellspots
Project Fi >>>
David Nunez they use t mobile's cell towers I think
TheEpere15 T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular last I checked in the US. I had project fi and loved it! But I use a lot of data and I got a great unlimited deañ with T-Mobile.
In Orlando,FL for calls and keeping a connection AT&T and Verizon Are best. T-Mobile not so good sprint is the worst. Switched back to AT&T last week.
Early squaaaaad
I have a question about switching do they check your phone?
If I purchased my phone at discount when signing up with Verizon. Will that cause a problem
if I want to switch to T-Mobile? Pay for phone outright 18 months ago🤔
This exact thing happened to my father in law. He left Verizon and T-Mobile gave him a tower! Haha! We have 6 people on our T-Mobile plan and it’s fantastic!
I also recently switched carriers in my country. I don’t like that we just have two, but I’m getting better data service so far, and that’s what I wanted so I’m happy for now. But I also have no loyalty to carriers.
I've had all of the major US carriers except Sprint (the horror stories about Sprint from multiple people I know are enough to keep me away). Verizon was fine, but too expensive. The current AT&T was ok, but I wasn't with them for that long. My favorite is T-Mobile, my current carrier. I very rarely have signal loss, and even then, it's only when I'm in the middle of nowhere. They are competitive on price and service. I hope that things don't get messed up if the merger with Sprint goes through.
Dude Man, you’re really smart. Thank you for your honesty. I’m glad you made it easier for me to understand. I’m just looking for a way to communicate to friends and family without all the hassle.
That is why many people where I'm from have dual-sim phones. Some carriers have better coverage, others have better internet rates, and so on.
Dual sim would be a perfect solution.
14 years with T-Mobile, great customer service
I went from Sprint to Metro PCS shortly after T-Mobile bought them. Same or slightly, as in hard to notice better coverage, but way faster speeds.
I've been with the same Service Provider since 1987. After all the buyouts since then, that Service Provider became AT&T. I have yet to have a reason to change.
I've been having horrible AT&T service lately in the Sacramento area! Have to check out another carrier. Good video!
I miss the early days of youtube technobuffalo, phonedog, mobile tech review all the OG reviewers from 10 years ago
After price gouging and trying to sell Unlimited to me I dropped Vz for Tmobile and haven't looked back. Best service, best customer service and they don't seem to want to rape the customers like Vz started to do. I can't wait for the day Tmobile passes Vz. I warned them that they better start taking care of their customers or they will lose them and they did. All 5 of my lines for my family and 3 other lines for my kids significant others. Great job Vz! Keep digging your grave. Way to go Tmobile! Taking care of the people who pay your salary. Smart move.
T-Mobile is hands down the best. Solid service, best price and solid support! I was recently going to try a MVNO but my Tmobile plan is so good I cannot jeopardize messingit up lol.
FYI for those who want T-Mobile to use overseas for extended periods (more than a few months) T-Mobile starts threatening you after two-ish months that theyll limit your roaming service if you keep on using that feature. So their whole "no borders" stuff isn't quite true. They gave me a specific date that they'll cut off my roaming...
I been with 🖤T-Mobile Heaven 💗for almost 7yrs now and I’m still rocking with them 🤜🏽🤛🏽..........Sprint on the other hand got escorted by roaches to layaway 🙂
Another thing they didn’t tell you is Verizon network extender works off your wifi. I tried getting one last week and they admitted it basically extends your wifi for wifi calling on phones that don’t support it. Where tmobile has mini cell towers that extends the lte service.
rwh19921 this is not true at all. It turns it into a 3g tower. Why would you need to add an attachment to a WiFi router to do WiFi calling
Have been with Sprint for years, even when the only service they offered was their poor 3G network. Their LTE service is pretty great in Ohio these days. Have received upwards of 150mbs internet outside in the city.
How nice of the carrier allowing you to have full bars at the expense of wasting your power to supplement others. Instead of building towers they'll have you waste your resources. How gracious of them
Been on tmobile for 5 years. Never looked back since. Before I had sprint and got screwed with their 2 year contract
Jose Cuevas same
Changing from T-Mobile to Verizon later today. Sucks, but their service just isn't working where I am in Kansas and I need to be able to reach my wife at all times.
@Hideika here's the craziest thing - I actually have SLOWER speeds with Verizon, but service is consistent. No more dead spots, so I'm good with that. I'll hit up Kansas City this weekend, interested to see how it performs in a larger city.
I assume that the solution T-Mobile offered you would not have been offered (or would not have been free), had you been a customer of an MVNO using T-Mobile towers. So the first step for MVNO customers experiencing weak/nonexistent service after a move or new construction might be to switch to prepaid or postpaid service with the carrier over whose network their MVNO was running on (or that of the major carrier which is supposed to have the strongest signal strength in the MVNO customer's location).
Hey Jon...cool video. How do you find t-mobile's coverage to be outside of your house? I check tmo years ago and it literally did not work indoors in most places, plus I would jump down to 3G a lot. How is it now? How is it meow?
