Miami might have had shiny recruiting classes over the last 15 years but they were not balanced. For example a 5 star DB and a couple 4 star players would bring the status to top20/15 but then have poor Oline men classes etc. Building and developing from the trenches out is the difference with these classes.
And 1 more thing, thank you Kirk Heribstreet for saying what you said about Miami on national television, getting the ball rolling in Coral Gables.

I'm a diehard Canes fan. 👐👐 9 wins isn't good enough for 2024. Like Mark points out, there are 4 teams (Florida, VT, Louisville, FSU) on the schedule with talent that could beat Miami. Their talent isn't as good as Miami's, but they could win. Is going 1-3 against those schools success? NO. This is why 10 wins is a minimum and a realistic expectation that everyone should have. A 10 win season is going 2-2 against teams that have a real chance to beat you. That's reasonable.
Miami's roster is better than every team on its schedule. An unfair expectation would be 12-0. It's not impossible, but an unfair expectation. 10 wins is reasonable.

In 2017, Miami was real close to getting beat, even blown out by Virgina. I've watched that game many times and Malik Rosier didn't look right at all in that game.

I’d go 12-0 and 7-5. They just went 7-5 last year and could’ve gone 4-8 (they also could’ve gone 12-0).

Yall need to stop comparing ppl to Saban, there's only one of those.. Also the days of the dynasties are over, you will never have a 3yr cohesive team again coaching staff included. NIL and the portal have ruined the dynasties going forward.

Yes sir, and I’m guessing you know from watching me that I know everyone’s records throughout history. I should’ve been more clear. I meant proven winners. Novell and Sark at one year. Signs look good, but really one. Norvell is at two now. Year 2 is when almost all the great coaches kicked it in unless they inherited a total graveyard like Bill Snyder. Good point though.
