Thanks for posting the video. You saved a computer from the landfill today. The hint about using a needle to remove the screw covers is what I was missing. I’d never run in to those before. After cleaning out the crumbs (who eats on their keyboard, seriously) and dust bunnies I replaced the ol’ 5400 RPM drive with an SSD. Much more pleasant to use now.
Glad it helped. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Thanks!
I use double sided sticky tape on scraps of wood to keep all the screws etc in order. Just put screws in place on the sticky and they can't roll off - it is also easy to label everything clearly with a sharpie pen and the blocks can be moved safely out of the way while you work. .... hope this helps someone out there. .... I have this model. If you tried removing baterry 1st thats the most common cuase of it. Since its no cmos. Mostly it was hybernate thingy. Nice vid. Makes me look and learn how to disassemble this model. Im upgrading ram

@@ItsBinhRepaired I've got this laptop X540LA and wanna buy an additional RAM, for example as in laptop in this video or other, because now it has only built-in discrete memory

Yup, I use a custom magnet tray
@@ItsBinhRepaired That works fine too - I use the 'sticky' as I work a lot on musical instruments where brass screws are common.
