RARE FOOTAGE - Trumpet Legend ROY HARGROVE at18 yrs old. Texas All State Jazz Ensemble 1988

This is an incredible home video shot back in 1988 at the Texas All State Jazz Ensemble performance in San Antonio, Tx. I was 16 years and voted to 2nd chair in the state of Texas for Alto Saxophone that year and I had the opportunity to play with the phenom Roy Hargrove (1st chair trumpet -- obviously) lol, who was just 18 years old. My parents are the ones who are video taping. I found this video going through some old boxes of my late parents recently and came across several videos like this. WOW... talk about bringing back memories. I'll never forget hearing Roy play!! I was in awe of he made his trumpet sing. I would say to myself, "How does he do that?" Check out this tune and his solo will make you flat out smile!! The audience goes bonkers from 36 years ago!!! What do ya'll think? Had to throw some Texas in there for ya!!!
