Cillian murphy does not attend awards ceremonies. He plays music with his band. Spends time with his wife and children. Once the work is done. He has given his all to a project. He moves on. Playing oppenheimer. Took over his whole life. There will be a lot of awards chatter and buzz. Cillian murphy will avoid all that stuff. He is a very low key and chill guy
She played sister Michael so beautifully. You understood where her cynicism came from but she would also let you see her spark of hope every once in a while. It was such a beautiful representation of what living through those times did to a person. Thank you for such an amazing speech that made me laugh and tear up. Well deserved Siobhan!!
Please cast her in movies, more TV series, and everything in between! The world loves this actress and must see more of her talent. Much love from a Brazilian fan in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
Best acceptance speech ever! Love that you referenced your darling Man and Dad. LOVE that you got political. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that fittingly Sister Michael had the last word!
One of THE ABSOLUTE BEST acceptance speeches EVER IN THE HISTORY OF WOMAN-kind!! (Or, man-kind if you so prefer! Ha!) Siobhán McSweeney is doing the Irish nation, including its diaspora, very proud indeed! Siobhán's purposefully slowed speech when talking about the North of Ireland was MAGNIFICENT!!! WELL DONE SIOBHÁN!! Siobhán, GRMA!!!!
Brilliant actress, show and writing. Love the laughs Siobhan McSweeney and Derry Girls have given me, much needed and appreciated. From a old Catholic school girl in Canada.
I think they need to find a .... persona for her in Bridgerton.... a fiesty persona and let her flounce around haveing a great time ...( and we also would have a great time watching her.)
Most underrated character in all of sitcom: her timing, gestures, mannerisms, it is all beyond expectation. Sister Michael is a once in a lifetime character, once in a lifetime for the viewer.
I think it’s time to re-watch all of Derry Girls. SUCH a funny, touching, relatable series, with a stellar cast and fab writers. I’m Canadian… of a certain age, but of Irish-Anglo heritage, and attended RC Schools, and so many of the School references, and Siobhan’s sublime acting, made Hubbie (pure Irish heritage) and I howl with laughter. We went to Ireland in 1986, on our honeymoon, and returned in 2014. It was like a different Country. Amazing. Anyway…Congrats Siobhan, to you and all the Cast. Such talented young people - every character so complex and intertwined with superb writing 👍🇨🇦🇮🇪
not the Cillian Murphy name drop lol!! I was seriously thinking about how Murphy was in the crowd as I was watching this speech and how theyre both irish and then she talks about him. Love love siobhan and love love cillian murphy, they make me very proud to be irish.
I have no idea of her political leanings or indeed, what 'Derry Girls' is, but well done for having a strong opinion and slipping it in there. Genuine, strong opinions against the establishment are always welcome in my world. Two sides of the same coin...we are👍🙂
Derry Girls is well worth a watch. It's set in the city of Derry in the 90s and centres around a group of four Catholic girls and one boy (sent to the girls school as he may be killed or seriously hurt at the boy's school "As, well, James happens to be English.") as they struggle with teenage life during the last few years of a shite time for people in Northern Ireland. Things have gotten better since the Good Friday Agreement, but Brexit and tri-government fuckwittery have put the peace we've somewhat had on the whole island since 1998 under serious threat. That's what she's calling out there - and of course the BBC broadcast cut it to ribbons....
I think it finished perfectly, in the same way Father Ted did. Were it to continue, there's a danger that it would turn into a Big Bang Theory style parody of itself.
Her speech cut by the BBC. And they say the BBC is too liberal. It's an organ of the state who's top job is awarded by the government. I thought that only happened in North Korea.
Lol, drama. Currently, and only recently, the Beeb has had effectively a tory majority forced onto it's governing body by the tory fascists. (No tory or labour or coalition dared to try to stamp down on the organisation like this before. Not even Thatcher). Hopefully once the tories are voted out at the next GE this can be fixed.
I love her show so much is brilliant, as is she. The cillian Murphy line was hilarious, wish I could see his face if he hears it. And good on her for squeezing in a political bit.
I watched her interview/meal with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett and didn’t know about Derry Girls being nominated etc because I’m in Australia. Brilliant speech.
"To the people of Cork who supported me, despite the fact that I'm not Cillian Murphy" Cillian sitting down there bet he's laughed a bit

I'm American and I LOVED that show and her character. One of the best characters on a tv show in over a decade!!!❤🎉
I have never heard a speech so perfect. Just purely immaculate start to finish
I can’t believe that Siobhan’s beautiful and impassioned speech got cut from the live broadcast!
Congratulations Siobhan! Speak up! ❤
Was it cut?
@@fionacavalier ya I've just watched this on RUclips and the end wasn't shown on tv
It was at the very end - ever thought it was a time issue - assume they are running ads. Trying to be an optmistic.
Brilliant lady.

@ragamuffing she might be a big deal where you live, where I live, I'd never heard of her prior to this, that's what I meant.
She deserves another comedic performance award for that speech.
So many great moments with her...one of the funniest was Sister Michael laughing out loud while reading the Exocist.
Now, that is how to deliver an acceptance speech "wise up" 👏 nailed it, Sr Michael..
