It hasn't been natural ones doing me in, but my paladin can't catch a break. He keeps failing all of his saving throws. In the last three fights, he's been blinded the entire time twice, and in the most recent one, he was slowed, then knocked out completely in one shot, was woken up by a friend's wayward eldritch blast, and was then paralyzed. This happened in four turns.
Up until recently, I had no dice of my own so whenever my friends met to play I ended up using one of the many sets of the DM. What made me decide to get my own was when I ended up getting three nat 1's in a row with his dice. One of my group tried to cheer me up by showing me this video. It sort of worked.
in my last session yesterday i had 5 nat 1s and 3 of them also in a row (but without disadvantage so really 3 straight roles just 1s). oh and also the whole session before and around 3/4th of the last session i only roled like 10 or lower. but thankfully i got to nat 20s and both were also at least semi important
Okay, but I'll one-up you. I once played a campaign as a town guard. Rolled so many natural 1's that I ended up not recognizing a thief, realizing he was hungry, then force fed him an entire orange, to which then I tried to CUT IT OUT because of a 1, then then I lost a gold piece in his stomach, and couldn't find the gold piece.

2:20 Matthews face :D
omg i have watched this clip so much but them being in there normal non-social distancing seats really frew me for a second then
watching this after i threw two nat 1's in a row yesterday trying to check how deep a river was only to later have a clutch nat 20 while fighting some giant spiders
was my second-ever time playing D&D
eventually this hilarious bad luck will come back the other way as 3 natural 20s for fjord, and it'll be hilarious
He got the 2 Nat 20's at the end of search for Grog and got the kill, so it evens out
What makes this even better is Molly *immediately* getting a 19 on his first try
I love how fucking excited Matt looks at the third nat 1
My brother recently rolled three d20s at the same time, to represent three different attacks. They were all natural 1s.
Now that is impressive.
the dice gods have made it so that travis, almost fatefully, gets natural 20s when it would be most epic for him to do so (killing kevdak, killing vespin chloras, going first in the fight against uk’otoa, the double 20s in search for grog), and gets natural 1s when it would be most hilarious for him to do so. it’s like destiny
0:52 I never noticed what Sam said in response to Laura before just now, jesus fucking christ dude xD
The more I watch this, the more I realize that if this had been 3.5, he technically would've instantly qualified for the Unlucky Feat.
I have newfound empathy for Travis after doing this myself. In combat. Without disadvantage.
My dad's friend had three 1's in a row once, and it's a story to this day :D
Will Wheaton is so proud
There was a 1 in 8000 chance of that happening. It took some real luck to be that unlucky.
Fjord should join TFS at the table. :)
Good god... That would be awesome!
They already have enough semen
Man of a fools culture nice.
Natural One-ders!
2:19 I completely lost it lol.
“I didn’t need the disadvantage any… aaaaahhh that’s a natural one” I love when he says that
I am IN LOVE with Taliesin's laughter
Okay, but I'll one-up you. I once played a campaign as a town guard. Rolled so many natural 1's that I ended up not recognizing a thief, realizing he was hungry, then force fed him an entire orange, to which then I tried to CUT IT OUT because of a 1, then then I lost a gold piece in his stomach, and couldn't find the gold piece.
