Great video and a great job showing the settings.... I've had this mic since Dec 22, it's amazing, really. It handles fx really well, as well as outboard gear. The Neve 542 is a really nice touch with it.

'Forward No-Filter Cardoir Pattern' has a nice non-dissonant sheen on the top end frequencies - love it, but I shall stick to my Lewitt Ray - it's still the no 1 under 500 USD game changer.
You should totally do a how to for Chill Pop like the band Easy Life. They’ve got such a unique style that is super creative and chill, like a fusion of jazz, indie pop and lofi
Sounds solid af. Have you listened to Magdalena Bay? I think is one of the best pop acts right now and i would love to hear a How To video on their style, they have tons of layers and the vocal production is crazy
I prefer this much more. I tried the vanguards and liked them. But ultimately sent them back because I would’ve never picked them over my Lauten stuff.

I sing a lot of classic rock and standards as well. Is there a benefit of tube over fet or is it more preference. Thank you again for taking the time to reply!

I tend to grab this more than the 1040. They’re both great though.

i LIKE THE Lewitt Ray though. I can record in rooms with the air conditioner cranking and blasting...still flawless vocals.

Yep! Tube mics have their own power supply.
So it’s mic into power supply via 7 pin xlr, power supply into preamp via standard 3 prong XLR mic cable

Those are 2 very different mics. Do you want FET or Tube?
For tube, I’d say just do the Lauten 320 V2, for FET the 103 is fire or a Telefunken TF11
